  This is the place to be on a Sunday from 4-8:00pm.  Packed, lively, and suuuuper fun.  A great music venue out on the levee.

  HOW IN THE HECK AM I THE FIRST PERSON TO REVIEW THIS PLACE?!
  
  Years ago I asked a Cajun friend of mine where I should go if I ever got to visit Cajun country again. I only remember two things he mentioned - Fred's in Mamou and Angelle's Whiskey River Landing in Henderson. My man and I didn't make it to Fred's this time, but we did go to Whiskey River, and it was one of the coolest and low-key places I've been to yet in this state after living here for 5 years.
  
  Angelle's can be a bit tricky to find - if you head toward's Pat's Seafood on the Henderson Levee, take a right at Pat's to the levee road. Angelle's is the third crossover down (you drive up and over the levee). Their website is pretty good about listing the acts. I think they have zydeco most Sundays. We went on a Sunday ($10 cover - the place is cash only but they do have an ATM) and caught Corey Ledet and Jeffery Broussard. There's a big dance floor with plenty of room to kick up your heels and a few chairs if you're closer to the wallflower persuasion.
  
  We were a bit intimidated by the dancing - neither of us are very good at it. But here's my pro-tip for figuring it out if you can't find anyone to teach you (I bet anyone would have done that for us, we were just being shy): look for any older gentlemen who might be changing partners every dance, moves around the floor a lot, but *doesn't* do anything too fancy. Chances are it'll be pretty easy to figure out his steps, and then you and your sweetie can get on the floor and have a good time too.
