The Whistle Stop is the town center in a friendly small community. Â Locals gather in the center of the dining room. Â Farmers drop by for coffee when it rains. Â Kids stop by for a cold drink & a candy bar. Â Kathy the owner does all the cooking. Â If you are bringing a crowd, you better call so they can bring in an extra waitress--otherwise they will be very cranky with you. Â It is worth the drive from Topeka to sample Kathy's homemade pies. Â I recommend Coconut, Cherry, & Strawberry. Â The cheeseburger is the best anywhere. Â The fries are especially good. They serve great breakfasts. Â The biscuits & sausage gravy are as good as it gets in KS. Â and Kathy's hash browns are the best. Â Jackie the waitress will take good care of you & remember you the next time you come back. Â All this & pretty good coffee is still only 75 cents.
