Awesome food!!! hard to find location....our group had a variety of Thai items...drunken noodles, curry, pad thai, the best hot n sour soup!!! and other food like chow mein and excellent spring rolls!! Â They are moving to a larger town...i think he said Susanville....so find them here while you can!!
Review Source:This Thai restaurant sits along a semi-rural street -- it is easy to miss if you are not looking for the sign. Â The interior is very nice and immaculate.
Having been to Thailand, I have had authentic Thai cuisine. Â Some places in the States come close to being authentic but fall short. Â I was in a party of four and we all shared our entrees.
This is authentic Thai cuisine prepared by Thai cooks!! Â My selection was the Hangover Noodles. Â The ingredients were fresh and the excellent seasoning thoroughly permeated the ingredients.
Our server was very enthusiastic and knowledgeable about Thai food. Â If you are ever in the Susanville area, you owe it to yourself to dine here.
Best food in Lassen County, hands down.
I have eaten at The White House many times, and my sister worked as a server there for about a year. The food is consistantly high quality and very flavorful. You can't go wrong with the Thai side of the menu, everything is great! Try the mango curry medium spicy, and make sure you have a side salad with peanut dressing! It's the best dressing ever. Pineapple Fried Rice is also a favorite! Try it all, and give your best to the cooks, Joy and Da!
Wow I went out of my way to go here and it was amazing! It's out of the way. It looks closed at night but just go on in! I got the Hangover noodle. It was really similar to drunken noodles but better I thought. They gave me a loaf of bread to go oo! Just to be nice I think (I wasn't charged for it)
Review Source:I could live off of spring rolls, & the ones here are quite decent :)
I wasn't floored with the service provided by our waitress. She was nice enough, but effort & follow through is just not there, lol. On the other hand, the bus boy/assistant was on top of his game! My tea was constantly refilled & he was constantly on the go, aka: working hard for his money!
I just found thos place accidently while searching the area on Yelp. What a find in the middle of nowhere. OK I guess if you live here its not nowhere. You have to go off the main highway 395 into Janesville. I looks just like the picture. I had pad thai and it was a very good rendition, for $9.95. I'm doing a quick overnight trip to Redding for business and maybe I'll stop here on the mway back. They have Thai and all kind of American food like burgers and ribs...thats a first for me!
Review Source:Probably one of the nicest restaurants in the Susanville area, The White House is on the frightening side from the front. But don't let that deter you . Once we got inside, however, things began looking up. Thai art covers the walls (including a photo of the King & Queen) and the vinyl booths are comfortable.
The restaurant serves up a tasty selection of authentic, traditional Thai food that was a pleasant escape from the local American diner fare featured at most of the area's other restaurants.
The White House is definitely worth a stop on your way up 395 as long as you don't mind a little MSG.
Unfortunately, I won't be going back to The White House until the cook stops using MSG. The food was great, however, the migraine headache I had the next morning was far too high a price to pay.
