I loved the atmosphere of this restaurant. Cool, clean interior with a smaller bar. My friends and I sat outside on the patio where live music was being played. The wait staff was extremely friendly, helpful, and happy to be there.

The appetizers were all pretty tasty but my main meal left something to be desired. I ordered a grilled wrap and to my dismay.. it wasn't grilled? I was dissapointed because if the menu says grilled, I expect my food to be hot and toasty. It was far from that. My friend also had a problem with his sandwich not being grilled as it was advertised in the menu (cheese was not even melted). I was tempted to send it back to the kitchen. The house chips were awesome.. thin, crisp, and salty.

Overall, nice place to sit and have a drink with friends.

From IL so when I went to MI, I wanted to try something that we didn't have back south. Was recommended to eat here and try there wings so that's what I did.

The appearance is exactly what it sounds like. A white house. My group sat outside on the patio during a nice sunny day. It was great. They had a guy playing the guitar outside so that was pretty cool. Though I think this is more catered to the older generations (that's who most the customers were).

Down to business. We ordered a bunch of apps and just shared. The broccoli bites were bomb. Def recommend those. And the cheese curds were pretty bomb too. Green bean fries I didn't really care much and I hate mushrooms so I didn't even try that (but others said it was alright).

I ordered wings and they were pretty delicious. Nicely grilled and tender. I didn't care much for the sauce though. The house sauce was way too sweet and the hot and spicy sauce wasn't really a sauce. It was like a liquid. The gf got the pulled pork and I didn't really like that either. You add your own bbq sauce but it just seemed really dry still and I didn't like the bun at all.

Over all it's a nice place though. They serve liquor and that was nice after a long day of white water rafting.

Nice place for a po-dunk town like Iron Mtn. Good atmosphere, service ... Tasty food (pulled pork and curry dressing). Only suggestion, have a better craft beer menu like Spiros or Sol-Blue... Only have Keweenaw Pick Axe Blonde and Widowmaker (one of my faves).

    Good stuff!

In a town dominated by Italian food, The White House, Spiros and Poor Boy Roys are the standouts.

My wife loves the wings. I like the pulled pork. They have a good fish fry but it's a little pricey in my opinion. I"d stick with something grilled, smoked or fried.

And they do have a couple solid vegetarian options (grilled veggie and mozzarella and a grilled portobello sandwich) for the non-meat eaters.

As comfortable as it can get!  Great food, fantastic owners, cold drinks.... only think that would make it better is if I could smoke a cigar there.... oh, wait a minute... I can, in the "Caucus Room"!

    Sweet.

The white house has great burgers. Nice deck to sit out on in the summer. My wife loves the curry salad dressing. It's worth a look for sure.

We just got back from a weekend trip to Iron Mountain where we attended a wedding.  My husband and I didn't have plans during the day on Friday so we were driving around and found The White House Tavern.  What a treat!!!  It was so nice to sit outside on the patio and enjoy a couple beers.  We had some wings which were hands down the BEST darn wings we have ever had.  They came with sauce on the side, but I didn't even use any of the sauce because the wings had such a great taste on their own.  The staff was friendly and the food was quick.  The owner was very nice and came out to warn us that a storm was approaching so we could get prepared to go inside.  If you like bar-b-cue then this is the place for you!  Infact, the sign is what convinced us to stop (it is a picture of a pig split up by it's parts with the name of the meat of that part)  - I hope that makes sense :)  Anyway, we would highly recommend this place!

Out of the options we could see within walking distance of this small town, The White House Tavern seemed like the place to go. It was recommended by our hotel and our rafting guides.

We sat outside on the deck. Being a city dweller, it was nice not hearing a lot of white noise. The clientele are 35+ folk; we saw truckers having dinner and beers and women having a ladies night there.

What was a real bummer is they didn't have any of their local beers in stock on a Saturday night. The drinks were relatively cheap so it didn't kill the experience. A member of our group paid about $5.50 for a Bloody. Unheard of in Chicago! She said it was okay.

I ordered the Pulled Pork Sandwich with Sweet Potato Fries, Cole Slaw and Baked Beans. Sweet on top of sweet! Opt for regular fries if you go with this option. The bun is toasted which is nice. The pork was kind of dry. The sauce was interesting -  it seemed like it there was maple and cinnamon in it. It seemed like this concoction was in the beans as well. It was just too sweet altogether.

A vegetarian in our party really enjoyed the chips and her sandwich. She wished there were more mushrooms in her sandwich. I can't recall which sandwich she ordered. Take a guess when you look at the menu.

The combo platter was full of fried goodness - fried onions, mushrooms, fries...no fried green beans, though! DAMN!

The menu is full of options. In a small town like that, it was refreshing.
Iron Mountain and its surrounding towns seem to be obsessed with pizza. In town from Chicago, I was not going to order f-ing pizza from Iron Mountain.

Our waitress was really friendly. It was busy that night so when it came time to get the check, we waited about 15 minutes which wasn't so great.

Two men were performing songs that all sounded the same, save for "Paint It Black" and "House of the Rising Sun." The bassist had an orange (?) Flying V. Amazing. They took frequent intermissions while we were there. They reminded me of an older version of guys that play Potbelly during the lunch hour.

It's 542pm on a Sunday and this place is closed. Not cool.
