Wild Country

Being a "city slicker" this place was certainly a "unique" experience.  The people watching at this place is a 9 on a scale of one to 10.  You won't be bored if you are a people watcher, there are all kinds of interesting things to look at here.
Great live band the night I was there.  Small dance floor, but plenty big for the number of people actually on the dance floor which consisted of about 85% woman and then the occasional dude that would stroll out there.

If you find yourself in Granbury for a weekend getaway, there aren't many late night places to go(that I'm aware of) but if you are open minded you can't go wrong ending your night here.

I like this place. Down sides: The cigarette smoke chokes the life out of my lungs and the music sometimes gets a bit antique and dreary - I haven't heard some of these songs since middle school... But!  The locals will come alive and shake it ever now and then, the drinks are good, and if you go have a chat with Earl he will play yah some good up-to-date dancing music.
Overall fun place to hang out and have drinks, dance, play some pool, and mingle with the locals.

That's what they've added to the old RC's to "change" up their appearance and vibe. Classy...very classy.

The band playing last night was country (shocker!), but when they took breaks the DJ played hip-hop, and I saw everything from muffin-top leather vests to Wranglers to Sean Jean graphic tees. Wild Country obviously didn't lose the old RC's clientele, but I did notice that the crowd was less active now that it's changed names. Usually by 10pm the dance floor is so busy it's hard to step on, but last night the floor remained empty through several songs. It also looks like they've moved the stage back and made it bigger for the band, but the acoustics more than suck in this place.

The service was okay -- the bartender didn't know how to make several shots correctly, and when we moved to a table our waitress didn't come by near enough so we ended up going through the bar the whole night.

Out of towners beware: Granbury bars shut down at midnight on Friday and 1am on Saturday, so have the drinks at home and ready if you want to party all night long.

What was that? You want to know if anyone used the stripper pole? Yup. A gal in a hoodie sweatshirt and pajama bottoms worked her way up and down the pole like it was her lifelong dream to do so. And I'm not even kidding about her attire.
