I was only at the bar here, i didn't eat so i can't attest to the food quality.
I drove past this place i don't know how many times without realizing it was there... Â It's tucked away in a corner of a shopping complex. Â The drinks were strong and well made. Â It was a busy night so it took a while to get our first round, which concerned me... But after that our waitress was on top of it and had new drinks for us right away.
Since it was crowded we were sitting outside, we smoke anyway so that worked for us. Â It was a special crawfish night, so i don't if it's that crowded on a normal Saturday... Â I'll definitely go back and look into that... Now that i know the place is there it's convenient for me on nights i don't feel like trekking all the way into the city...
Visited with 3 friends on a saturday at 3:30, not busy, but sat at the bar so that we would get fast service. After 15 minutes, we placed our drink order, after 20 additional minutes those drinks arrived. (we were AT the bar, we ordered 3 sodas and one frozen margarita) The crawfish that were ordered with our drinks, were never put in so we had to order again, along with some chips and salsa. It took another 30 minutes for that. We had to BEG to get our checks and get out of there. Took 2 hours to get 1 drink and some chips/crawfish.... They never checked on us, not once. Crawfish were Not as good as they used to be either.
At least this time I didn't see roaches scurrying up the wall.
We won't ever go back.
My husband and I moved to the Pearland area in July of 2012. We have/ had a really, really great crawfish place off N 290 relatively close to where I teach in Cypress where we used to go for crawfish, hotwings, and beer before we got married and moved to the Manvel/ Pearland area closer to his office. Wild Geese Tavern had bad reviews for service, atmosphere, but relatively good crawfish reviews despite their other hang ups in 2011 and 2012. Against odds, we decided to try it for my birthday dinner despite the early season for crawfish and the really bad reviews, and I will have to say, for a girl who grew up with really nice birthday restaurants in downtown Houston, WGT has changed staff or something bc the service was fantastic and very attentive AND for a Friday night! The DJ was great, my husband even commented on how much he enjoyed the mix of the music, and the crawfish, while small as early in the season it was, was really fantastic! While a good kind of spicy, it was buttery, sweet and absolutely delicious! We will certainly be going there again, and, if we dont stay for the music and the pool, we'll definitely be ordering 5-10 lbs of crawfish for take out for the weekend on the patio!!!
Review Source:This is the first time I write a negative review but I had to since I had the worse most HORRiBLE service here!!! My friends and I came to watch aTexans game and order a few drinks still no drinks an hour later. The only reason I'm still here is because the game is good. An hour later they said they were out of margaritas. I will never come here again!!!
Review Source:The crawfish. I go for the crawfish and the service. At the beginning of crawfish season this year and the latter part of 2011 the service had gotten horrible. Â A friend made me return and I got the crawfish which was great and the service was so-so. Â An old manager was brought back and things have gotten a lot better. The service is good. People complain about the wait on the food buy the food is always hot and fresh when I get it. you cant have hot and fresh without it taking a little bit of time. The crawfish seasoning is made special by the kitchen manager. Occasionally, when he isnt there other team members are too heavy with the pepper. Â I do wish they had more drink specials though.
Review Source:After seeing the sign announcing crawfish here, I came back (and have come back several times, but only for the crawfish). I must say that the crawfish were really good: even though it is early in the season, the crawfish are usually a decent size. Also, my boyfriend and I like the spice (spicier than Floyd's). The first time, the crawfish were so spicy that it took us a couple of beers to make it through 2 lbs (I think the heat level has gone down, but they are still good).
The service has gotten better, although it still isn't great. While it seems to take the waiters a while to notice new customers, after they do, they are relatively attentive.
The one glaring flaw with the place is that the beer on tap has a strange taste (sour?). I am not sure if they need to clean the tap, but it is usually a safer bet to stick with bottled beer.
I doubt I will be going there much after crawfish seasons ends, but I'll be frequenting this place while it's here.
this was my first time going here and i would like to say the bartenders are pretty laid back and offer great service .....  i ate lots of food here and drank a lot as well .... the Vegas bombs were  great and the dos xx beer was nice and cold .... food wise i had the craw fish , they were a little small and super spicy - not the best but not the worst that I've had ..... now lets talk wings , the  Jamaican maysyla or some weird name like that was bomb  , by far the best flavor wing I've ever had ...... last but not least was the black and blue burger , what i liked about this is they weren't cheap with the cheese and that burger was covered in blue cheese ... id come  back here again .... this place was awesome
Review Source:DO NOT GO TO WILD GEESE! GO TO BUFFALO WILD WINGS! I have only been here one time where I received quality customer service. The waitresses are usually scarce, limited, and drunk or on some sort of pharmaceutical drugs. One waitress picked a menu off the floor and slammed it on my table when I asked for one. They get an attitude with you at the drop of the hat when you ask them basic questions about their menu items and take FOREVER to bring anything. ANYTHING. If you need a place to watch a fight or game go anywhere but here.
If you're going for pool, save time and aggravation by buying your own pool table. At least it wont take you 20 minutes to get a beer from a fridge.
Met some friends here over Labor Day weekend. Â Pool was cool and inexpensive. Â The drinks were also cheap- "Purple Stuff" is my fave.
The place was very warm inside and my friends' ordered a big order of hot wings, but couldn't eat them when a ROACH crawled out of the basket and onto the counter!!
So yeah... game over after the roach appeared. Â We left and finished up at Fox N Hound. =0/
Typical tavern, lots of pool tables n darts, a wide variety of people, very casual and down to earth drink prices. Didn't give them 4 stars because the service is EXTREMELY SLOW. At a vacant side bar with 3 bartenders, me and another guy waited 5min for a drink, even worse when I tried to close my tab. However, my buddy and I did meet some ER Doctors while we were smoking a cigar on the patio. Had a great convo with them and their wives. Heard some crazy stories and overall, a wonderful night!
Review Source:Pretty Good Place for a tavern. Â The servers is a little "slow" and I don't mean that in the sense of speed of service, but WGT is a good place to hang out for the evening. Â
The food is surprisingly good for tavern food. Â The salsa is one of the best I have tasted, especially after a few drinks it just seems to get better!
We met some friends at Wild Geese Tavern for drinks and fell in love with the place. There is a large outdoor smoking section is you smoke when you drink, a large dining area if you eat while you drink and damn nice restrooms (let's face it we piss when we drink..Lol)
Wild Geese is a full liquor bar and the staff are more than welcome to to help with any request you may have. The place is the hottest spot in Pearland. So get up off that couch, throw on something casual and take momma out for a few brews. (CAUTION: liquor may have side effects, slurred speech, doubled vision and stumbiling)
do not go here. a waitress was drunk. and almost gave my card to an other customer, i saw my card with my picture on it! so i stop her to tell her ...hey that's my card. and she told to get the f**** out. she actually said that to me. to a customer. and another customer heard and said ...hey..hey..you can't speak to pp like that. and the mgr was like 15 years old... i am just stunned. do not go there
Review Source:The bar and kitchen service are generally slow. Expect a long wait from when you finally order to when you finally get it. Â There is a reasonably sized menu but we've never ventured to the entrees.
Now on to the good things...pool tables, tv, darts, patio, and karaoke. Plus, it's kinda clean compared to other bars.
They have a great crawfish special and occasionally sell out.
Not bad for a bar in Pearland! There is always something to do here (even though you have to pay) and the service is nice. The atmosphere is just right for a bar. If you don't mind the cheesy music everyone decides to play on the jukebox you will enjoy yourself. I'm pretty sure the onion rings are frozen prior to cooking but the batter to those things is just phenomenal after a few beers.
Review Source:I've been going to the WIld Geese Tavern all of 1 month now and I LOVE IT. A friend of mine introduced me to this place a few weeks ago and I think its the best thing this friend has ever done for me. Seriously though, the staff is friendly and attentive. Each time I have visited, service has been very prompt. They have awesomce crawfish (hot and spicy) and these little mudbugs are $4.99 lb..how awesome is that. The beer is cold, the patrons are friendly: kinda reminds me of you neighborhood bar where everybody knows your name. LOVE-LOVE-LOVE this place.
Review Source:We've made The Goose the go-to place for our cycling club socials, and the staff is able to accommodate our group of 10 to 20 without a fuss when we call ahead. Â Start early here for happy hour specials on appetizers & drinks. Most of the appetizers are half off during happy hour and domestic drafts are cheap.
There's a restaurant area, a bar area, and a large darts/pool table area. They recently took out a row of booths from the restaurant side and opened it up to look into the pool table area. This also made room for 2 shuffleboard tables. TV's are everywhere for sports, and service is friendly.
The hardest part about the Goose is finding it. It's in a strip center, but it's not very visible from the street. The mini-storage place and Badfish are good landmarks for finding the right place to turn.
The Wild Geese Tavern (aka. The Goose) is a decent pool hall, bar, and restaurant. It is definitely needed in west Pearland. The food is pretty good. I like the pickle chips and burgers. The service can be slow at times but it's not bad.
The pool tables are nice and there are a lot of them. I'm not sure how much it is to play though. Probably $10+ an hour. There are also a few dart boards.
There are a lot of televisions and projectors for game watching.
The crowd is a mix of suburban yuppies, college students, blue collar, white collar, some drop outs, and a few thugs every once and a while.
If you like the repetition of the Buzz radio station then you'll like the music selection. There is a digital juke box but every time I've been there the people pick horrible music. You'll here a lot of Creed, Nickelback, Staind, POD, Puddle of Mud, and the like.
I enjoy the place when it isn't packed, but can be annoying when crowded, which starts after 9pm. It is good for early Saturday game watching. They have a small porch.
