Late Monday, on our way to the motel, we drove by and saw the giant horse. Â He leans over and says to me "Oh we are totally coming back to this place later."
So we did.
To the right, a bar, bar tables, a pool/arcade area. Â
To the left, another bar, a restauranty area and decor that looks like pigmy saloon girls were due to come out over head at any moment. Â
Dead ahead, a dance floor with a mechanical bull and inflatable ring.
The staff were sweet, got us seated and let us know it was taco Tuesday with $3 margaritas. Â I'm an LA adopted Mexican so I'm not ordering tacos in Morongo Valley, so I opted for the rib eye and dude got the pulled pork. Â We both ordered a couple of
margaritas - which were STRONG - and waited for our grub.
The food was flavorful when it arrived, but both dishes were lukewarm. Â He asked to get his plate nuked, I opted to just eat fast as I hate microwaved steak. Â It was fine, but I was a bit disappointed. Â "Maybe in the desert, people like their food a little cold so it's more refreshing?" No babe, I don't think so. lol
After we ate, we shot some pool and hung out. We were full and ready to roll. Â It wasn't bad, just wish it was a hot plate of food.
Convinced by the mostly good Yelp reviews we tried Willie Boy's for lunch mid-week in the off-season and had the place to ourselves. Deania the friendly waitress took good care of us and made sure the food was well done and ready quickly. During our short wait we had a good look at the bar--definitely a movie-western theme complete with mechanical bull for riding while drunk. My Willie Boy special sandwich with beef brisket tasted good but the cole slaw was piled inside rather than outside, which made the bread soggy. My partner's BBQ pork appetizer was quite good--usually she's not a fan of spicy sauces but was pleased with this one.
Review Source:Finally got to try and review one of my saved bookmarks.  Pulled into the parking lot and interesting place with a giant  statuesque life size horse and large neon sign promoting "burlesque show"!!
Walked in and gravitated towards the bar to order drinks and dinner. Â Bartender was friendly and fun to converse with. Â Lot of things going on inside, with mechanical bull, karaoke, live musician and background music all within 90 mins of being there. Â This place has no shortage of attempting to have fun!
Service was friendly, but food was okay. Â Ordered the Pulled Pork and Baby Back Ribs and my plate was dry, salty and distasteful. Â The Ribs were okay but a bit to much fat and gristle making it a bit more chewy than expected. Overall, the entertainment of people watching was enjoyable.
Great food, spotty service! My wife and I stopped by there for the 1st time on Sunday 05/12/2013, enjoyed our Huevos Rancheros very much, and received great service from the younger man working there. On Wednesday 05/15, we again stopped there, this time for lunch.
The service was a completely different deal this time, as the waitress seemed indifferent to our presence. We ordered 2 draft beers, and asked for a pulled pork sandwich to be split.
She dropped the sandwich off, bruskly telling us "cut it yourself", and stormed off. There was only one other table in the place with customers (11:30am). I cut the damned sandwich with a dull dinner knife... no steak knife was offered.
The waitress never checked back with us the whole time. We're not cheap... we just wer'nt all that hungry, plus there was that beer.  FYI; we are in our 50's. I really don't understand the "F-U" attitude from that waitress, and I get mad thinking back about it now.
 I will not come back!
You're out here in the middle of nowhere, literally. You are either on or near the 29 Palms highway. What are your choices?
The food is pretty good if you don't stray too far from the standards (burgers, tri-tip, pulled pork, cowboy steaks, coleslaw). By the time you get into tacos, baked cod and complicated salads, you've left the road.
The service is friendly and sincere, sometimes efficient, often not.
The decor? Decidedly Western, bull rides and such.
Full bar (Thank god)
But I don't know why I am going on about this place; you and I know it's your only option for miles.
In the middle of the desert you will find a hidden gem in Willy Boys. Although it looks like an brothel from the outside, the "families welcome" sign makes you scratch your head. As you enter, to the right is the history of Willy Boys--a throwback to the 1920s that was once owned by a mobster named Duckie and all of the activities that went on at the time are highlighted. I was there with my family and the food was nothing short of incredible. The WillyBurger could easily make a top 10 list of the best burger in the   country. A patty made with their 8-hour smoked brisket and ground beef topped with 8-hour smoked pulled pork. Everyone's food was off the charts. Dina, our server extraordinaire, not only made us feel welcome at the late afternoon hour that we entered the restaurant, but she also made sure my kids got to ride the mechanical bull. All in all, a great restaurant with great service and a settings and theme that makes it a memorable destination location.
Review Source:This is a shout out to Willie Boys Saloon in Morongo Valley (on the way back from Joshua Tree. Holy effin' crap, what an amazing place.
Let's start with the sign as you drive up. "4.5 Burlesque, DJ Fri., Sun. line-dancing, best ribs in town". Willie Boys, you had me at burlesque, but you owned my soul by best ribs in town.
When we walked in the first thing we saw was line-dancing. There was a ton of 50-year-old ladies, and a few men, dancing in synchrony to country music. One lady was wearing headphone-mics and chanting instructions. I tell you, you have never lived till you have seen 50 50-year-olds twirling in unison to Shania Twain.
The next thing we saw was the hostess. My eyes were immediately drawn to the center of her chest, not because of the reason you think, but because her necklace had a *RHINESTONE-STUDDED PISTOL* pendant. Yes, you read that correctly, the hostess' necklace looked like an Elvis pistol. And it only gets better from here.
A quick glance around revealed that the place looked like a saloon is supposed to look. They had Coors Light and Bud Light on tap. The colors were warm and dominated by wood-color. There were locals, and they looked like locals. There was even, amazingly, a man with an eye-patch standing by the bar. This man later turned out be the DJ for the line-dancing, and made my night by playing an Old Crow Medicine Show about my hometown.
After we were seated I commented that this place was my new second home, and the couple next to us said their son felt the same way. We pumped them for info on which dishes were the best (though I had secretly already decided that I would have the ribs). And they said, well anything smoked or barbequed is good, and I said you are speaking our language, I think I could eat a whole pig. (We were coming back from Joshua Tree so my whole body was exhausted and craving protein.)
The four of us downed a pitcher of Coors Lite in record time, and collectively ordered Pulled Pork (2x), the Brisket, and a full rack of hickory ribs (that was me :). When she asked for sides I saw cornbread muffins and sweet-potato fries, so I asked for those. But she told me corbnread muffins came with the table so i could pick a different side. +1. And then when the cornbread muffins came, they were served with honey butter. Oh my god, every thing just get better and better.
While we were waiting for the food we noticed several mysterious doors on the semi-level above us. All had a red candle-light outside, and several were lit. We were speculating, was this where the burlesque magic happened?? And the walls had antique muskets, and antique pictures of dudes with beards like from Torchwood. Serious Civil-War era -ness.
And then the food came. I will have to stop the report here, because words like "the best ribs I've ever had, ever" just can't do justice to this meat. I sampled the pulled pork from neighbor, and generously shared bits of my ribs with the crew (let's be clear -- I did not need help finishing the whole rack, I just wanted my peeps to share that ribby awesomeness experience). It was fall-off-the-bone, hickory-smoked goodness to the nth degree. We devoured the food in minutes it seems, and I barely remember the ride home I was riding so high on rib-deliciousness. I mean, I seriously contemplated ordering another half-rack just because it was so damn tasty.
So next time you go to Joshua Tree, stop at Willie Boys Saloon.
From the outside this place looked great. When we walked in, you could see that it was sold from the original owners. In the center of dance floor was a fake bull surrounded by a blown up padding. The live band was only one drummer playing with a pre recorded band as he sang and drummed live. We had a party of 6 as we were sat in the bar area. We were given menus, just as a 14 top was seated near us. At this point all the focus went to this table. They were given water, had a drink order taken, appetizers  taken, then drinks delivered even before we relieved water. She did stop by and said she would  be right back. We ordered 3apps. Potato skins, rib tips and wings.  Wings just had franks wig sauce on them nothing special, potato skins came out cold had to retire them, and the rib tip were like bone tis in soupy sauce. I noticed the manager walking around the restaurant with a plate of food, it looked like what my girlfriend ordered, he went back into the kitchen with it.  About 15 minutes we all received our food. And of course the plate he was walking. Around was in fact Ayer in front of her. I felt the pork on the pâté. It was cold. I sent it am and within 2 minutes it was back. The pork was now hot but dry from the microwave they used to heat it. Ut the rest of the food on the plate was cold. They didn't even check the other items on the plate. She didn't eat it and  just pushed it aside. I ordered  an 18 oz rib,  it must of weighed that before cooking, it was about 10 oz plus the bone. For 19.95. And everything was smothered in sauce. Pork and beans right from a can and corn on the cob was mushy. The server came by to heck on us, she asked us if we didn't lie the pulled pork, we said no, and of course she charged us for t anyways. After we paid the manager came over and asked said everyone loves the food and that no one ever complains about the food. He then told me he was the owner. I asked him if he was tasting the food hat comes out of the kitchen, he said he eats there every night. I told him about the pork dish, his replay was the he just installed state of the art heat lamps, I asked him if he was serious.  I asked him to go temp the sauces, he came back and agreed that the sauces on the line were cold. He offered to buy us dessert, but we refused. We will never recommend this place nor go bak ever. I don't think they know what's going on. Owners who have no clue how to run a restaurant.
I received an email from the owner, I would like to say how professional he was to comment on my not so good review. This could have been bad. But I gotta say.... Curtis, you handled this great, I Â may have been harsh about the food, but being a chef makes me look at food in a whole different way. You have a great base in creating your place into something great. I look forward to coming back and giving you another shot.
It's not Texas BBQ but it's a little gem in the Morongo Basin. Â My wife and I have always seen this establishment sitting on the highway in the middle of no-where and wanted to give it a try. Â We came down one Saturday and had lunch. Â It feels like you're on the set of an old western Saloon. Â The bar is HUGE and they have more than just Bud products on tap. Â I had the pulled pork sandwich and it was surprising good! Â Served on a bun, it was topped with spicy cole slaw and came with beans and fries. Â I was pretty happy. Â They also have more BBQ on the menu that I would try next time I go. Â If you're ever in the 29 Palms area, this is the best place to dine within 40 miles and without going down to Palm Springs.
Review Source:The best burger I have ever had, got the double it was so juicy I had to ask for another bun! Youngsters were doing a metal band tribute. Had their get ups on they were really good! Everyone was real friendly. If your in the Palms Springs area looking for a burger & some local color don't miss Willie Boys.
Review Source:It's not secret that I'm a fan of nachos. You may call me a nacho connoisseur. The nachos at WIllie Boys, ladies and gentlemen, were the greatest I have ever had. I believe we got them with pulled pork instead of brisket but I can't be sure...I'm sorry, I know that's a wrench in the wheel of your nacho happiness right now. Either way, you won't be disappointed. We tried to split a combo platter but the nachos had worked their cheesy magic and we ended up taking almost all of the main course home. From what we tried on the huge platter of awesomeness (sweet potato fries, mac and cheese, brisket, pulled pork, and ribs), we were super happy campers. The leftovers were even amazing!! We went on a random weeknight and the place was deserted but I can imagine that it would be pretty rowdy! Huge bars, tons of dance floor space, and a great ambiance. Totally worth the drive to the random location!
Review Source:Love the decor and the staff attire, makes it feel like your in a gun slinging saloon. Stopped here for some drinks while we watched the Dallas cowboys game on thanksgiving day 2011. They were super busy for a holiday and seemed short staffed but since we were just drinking we were fine. Drinks were reasonably priced and staff wad nice. Would love to try their food next time.
Review Source:I don't know if this review is a reflection of my own intelligence, or if I just keep hoping things will change. Well it still has not changed. My family and friends have be attempting to get a decent meal and so so service since this "resteraunt" has oppen, to no avail. Sure the food is not bad, and the ambiance is ok. But the service is probably some of the worst I have ever experienced. Someone alway has to send some part of the order back. It is not unheard of to wait over an hour for your order to arrive. Drinks, well you are lucky if your drinks arrive. And if they do, make sure you order you beer in a bottle. The cocktails are weak and the draft tastes... "different." But, if you have some time to kill, and want some ok food, weak drinks, and atrocious service make sure you come here!
Review Source:I was actually surprised how nice this place was given the location. Â I expected it to more dilapidated and depressing, but it's a rather lively setup. Â
The food was decent, I had something with brisket and mac n cheese. Â It wasn't bad. Â The service could have been better. Â They got my side dish wrong twice.
I went here fairly late night as I like to do all the time I try a new restaurant, Â reason being is if I'm going to spend my hard earned money here I'm going to need to like this place no matter the mood of someone as their shift comes to an end. Â I can't say the place is terrible because it's not and the atmosphere almost seems like it could be a great place however, the service wasn't great and they have a check in deal for a free desert when you check in on Yelp. Â The waitress knew nothing of the sort. Â Although, she did indeed honor the request it still seems as if she should know something of the magnitude. Â The food was NOT what I expected it to be I know i came when the "kitchen was due to close" however, it looked like it was someones dinner they were saving and they just heated it up. Â I'm sure the place is all the riot i'll go back just in case and report back later.
Review Source:half off apps and $2 domestic drafts for happy hour. great menu with an awesome cast of charaters. josh was super friendly and nick behind the bar was the most welcoming of any proprietor ive come across.
amazing bloody mary. and fried pickels
we came on a monday and didnt know about the $7 charge for the show. as we began to leave, Nick, the bartender/owner offered to buy us tickets. all 3 of us.. who does that? definitely cant wait to go back
eveyone has to come here at least a few times
Great atmosphere. They really did a great job making you feel you are sitting in an old saloon. Bar tender and waitress in costumes of the old west saloons too. They have great TV, sound system and stage for bands. Large dance floor, pool tables. etc. fun place. Food was good and reasonable. We had brisket. It was tender and tasty. French fires were crispy and loved the homemade mac and cheese. If you are in the area off hwy. 62 near: Palm springs, Morongo, Yucca Valley, 29 Palms, Joshua tree, etc. You must go try it out.
Review Source:I was looking forward to stopping in here as I pass it often. Â We ordered their hamburger and apart from the fact that they were not cooked to order. Â Wanted medium and well, both were under cooked. Â Nice uniforms on the waitress. Â I thought it would be a younger crowd but turned out to be considerably older. Â This was a Wednesday night and early however. Â I would give it a try again but don't expect too much.
Review Source:Blech! Maybe it was just an off day, but from our arrival to the end of the meal - it was just underwhelming. I guess it was also disappointing that this place was recommended by the concierge at the Marriott.
So we arrived at about 6pm after a day at the Joshua Tree National Park. We were good and hungry. They were not very busy and there was a sign to seat ourselves. OK, we did that. We go our drinks in about 10 minutes and then it took 25 minutes for them to come take our food order! We didn't get our meal until 45 minutes after we sat down. They must have been horribly understaffed that day or something.
OK, the food. I LOVE BBQ. I try and have bbq everywhere I go in the USA. The point is, I believe I know bbq. So first we ordered the "homemade" chili as an appetizer. It wasn't even a little warm. It wasn't bad tasting and the onions and cheese seemed fresh, but It seemed like the chili was out of a can . Stagg Original canned chili is better tasting and a lot cheaper than the $5.95 they charged.
For dinner we ordered the 1/2 chicken, brisket, and baby back rib plates. The chicken was plain. It was slathered in bbq sauce and the smoked flavor just wasn't in the meat. The skin wasn't crisp or even browned much. The good news is that it wasn't way overcooked. The brisket was just awful. It was super dry and again didn't have much smoked taste. It could have been pan fried and left out to dry. My wife and kids wouldn't even eat it. Finally and almost the savior was the baby back ribs. They tasted great, but this was spoiled by the fact that there was hardly any meat. It was mostly big bones. We ordered the 1/2 rack.
It was about 7 ribs of 2-3 inches in length (small) and mostly bone. That wouldn't have been so bad if it wasn't for the fact that it was $17.95.
What about the sides? We had Mashed potatoes (good), cole slaw (average), and veggies (salty and soggy)
Maybe I was just unlucky that day. This was a disappointment in so many ways since I love BBQ and the family had been looking forward to this dinner. Oh well, you win some and you lose some. The decor was nice though - but it's the food that we really came for and that was not good.
Update: 1/2/12
I'd like to add that after we got the food, the waitstaff was attentive, but it was kinda late. Nonetheless we left a 15% gratuity as the quality of the food wasn't the waitress's fault. Â Also, I think the owner came by twice asking us how it was. We said "ok" and just wanted to leave.
Surprisingly after I posted this review, I got a message from Curt Corum. He apologized for the off day and asked us to come by again. I'm glad that they are monitoring these reviews and taking them seriously. That's a good sign that he's serious about service and perhaps my visit was an anomaly. Thanks for checking in Curt.
Very neat atmosphere. Â I was disappointed after ordering to later find out they were out of Meatloaf. I ordered the 12 oz steak instead. Â I believe it was the "Cowgirl'. Not bad, I would say a 7/10. My daughter had the French Dip, she said it was very bland and the Aujus was not very tasty.
I would recommend this place for the atmosphere and to have a drink. Â The food was simply average.
Ate here for my brother and dad's combined birthdays.  I was  inevitably hesitant given the location. Let me say, their food is delicious smokey bbq at its socal best.  They have interesting burlesque style outfits for the waitresses but that doesn't really match the girls they've got working.  If it were Tilted Kilt girls, yes.  Morongo Valley girls is a big no.  Other than that, everything was delish.  I had a fantastic pulled pork, the french dip was great, and the brisquit (sp) was mouth watering, like for real.  I will no doubt return.
They have nothing on Pappy and Harriets with regard to entertainment, but the food is outstanding and not poisonous.
My husband & I were spending a few days in Palm Springs and we had checked in advance to see if there were any Country Clubs nearby- this seemed to be the closest. Â After checking their online schedule and messaging the place, it looked like we'd have to go on Sunday night. Â Because they also serve food, we decided to eat dinner and then stay for dancing. Â We did call in advance to confirm what time the line dance lessons would be and we were told 5pm. Â We had also been told that there would be DJ dancing from 9-11pm. Â We showed up at 7pm, figuring we'd eat dinner and then dance until the DJ stopped.
Well, we were misinformed. Â Seems lessons start at 5pm and music is played until 9pm. Â We probably would have gotten there earlier to get in more dancing if we had the correct information. Â But it worked out, we had a delicious dinner- the BBQ ribs were to die for and my husband has some sort of fish- he said it was excellent also. Â We did dance in between bites of food and did participate in a few dance lessons. Â The dancers and line dance instructor were very friendly and welcoming to use. Â No doubt dancing does unite strangers!
We would definitely go back there again next time we find ourselves in the desert. We would just go a bit earlier so we could dance longer.
One word... Gross!!!!! My bf had the pulled pork and I had the ribs. Both we're very dry and just downright gross. We also had the nachos which were just ok. The brisket had almost no flavor. This place is way over priced especially for the quality of food. And when we sent the food back their manager said he tasted the food we sent back (really?! He ate the food we just ate?) and that it was delicious. Then he got all pissy and stormed away. Well on a good now the service was great, the ladies that work there are really friendly and good waitresses.
Review Source:Finally made it down the hill alittle to have dinner at Willie Boys. Â It was a great suprise and a solid meal. Â Atmostphere is old western but well done. Â Wait staff was very friendly and attentive. Â Restaurant is large and open with 2 bars and a huge stage that was hosting a live band on a Friday night. Â Menu has some great choices. Â Not having BBQ for awhile I decided to dive in to the 3 choice plate; I got ribs, brisket and hot sausage which came with cornbread and 2 sides, I chose mac and cheese and cole-slaw. Â The food was great, hot, good size portions and full of a smoky BBQ flavor. The bar as about 12 beers on tap. Â The special on the Friday I was there was $1 PBR pints. Â A no brainer when your sitting eating BBQ and listening to the live band.
I would definitely suggest it to anyone passing by.
Food good! Â Service terrible!!!!! Just back from my first experience. Â Went for Sunday brunch. Â Turned out to be just breakfast. Â Interesting decor and some interesting clientele. Â Don't think some saw the "dress code" posted at the door. Â They did add to the atmosphere. Â We arrived about 10:30, ordered from the bar and asked if we could order lunch. Â Waitress said she would have to check (First red light)..Came back and told us lunch items were not ready until 11:00. Â Ok, Ordered breakfast. Â Waitress had a difficult time getting order straight. Â Came back later and said hash browns and toast were not part of the breakfast burrito order (she didn't seem to know this at the time she took the order.) Â When order arrived mine was the wrong order. (second red light) Â I sent it back and since it was now past 11 ordered lunch. Â In a local review I had read about the 24 inch hotdog. Â So I ordered a hot dog. Â No further discussion from the waitress as to whether I wanted the 24 inch. Â Surprise, got a regulare hot dog. Â Very good but no condiments included at all. Â Only ketchup on the table. Â I didn't bother to ask as the rest of the party was finished with their meal and I didn't want for them to have to wait. Â All and all it was an interesting experience. Â I will give them one more chance at dinner and hope that Sarah is only on duty for lunch. Â They need to send here home with the menu and make sure she knows what is on it and to maybe suggest items mentioned in a newspaper review.
Review Source:I suppose comparisons of Willie Boys with Pappy & Harriet's are inevitable, but they each have their own style so I'll leave it at that. Â If you're looking for Old West honky-tonk style, Willie & Co. does it pretty good. Â Deer heads, antelope, even a moose head on the walls, and just general old-fashioned decor. Â It works pretty well. Â The waitresses are all dolled up in cute saloon-girl outfits, and if the Iranian imams were right when they said that earthquakes are caused by women who dressed immodestly, California would have slid off into the ocean by now. Â Please understand, this is NOT a complaint! Â
Our server, Brandi, was just as cute as a bug's ear (like they say in the Old Country) and served us pretty well. Â They have a dealie for the table called a ServiceLight, and you can push the appropriate button if you need service, a drink refill, or want to pay the bill, and a light comes on top. Â A genie doesn't pop out saying, "Your wish is my command," but eventually your server will come around to take care of you.
I ordered a beef brisket sandwich; my wife, the pulled pork. Â Both were OK, but unsauced, and I thought my meat could have been more moist. Â Maybe a little basting with some au jus would be in order. Â Covering it up with the provided smoky barbecue sauce took care of that. Â The pork was very good, as well. Â Wifie got sweet potato fries and I had the mac `n' cheese. Â Both good, though I make my macaroni & cheese with extra-sharp cheddar; theirs was pretty mellow, though nice and creamy, the way I like it. Â
The live music was pretty loud, as I guess it should be -- the group serves up mostly country music and an occasional blues number on most Saturdays from 7 to 10. Â They were pretty good, actually, and prompted a few couples to get up and prance around the dance floor. Â
Now, suggestions: Â The sound is smeary and not always easy to understand the lyrics. Â They need to get rid of the Bose speakers and get something with a high Directivity Index. Â (Yeah, I know Anwar Bose has a Ph.D., but those are absolutely the wrong speakers for that acoustic environment.) Â Second, and this is just a suggestion -- put a video camera facing the stage and pipe the video to the big screen over the main bar and into the billiard room, so people can stay connected to what's happening in the building. Â There are plenty of other TVs for people to watch NASCAR, rasslin' and stuff. Â (My wife said some coverage of rodeo events would fit the theme of the place.) Â
And finally, a selection of different kinds of barbecue sauces would be nice. Â What they have is good, but maybe a honey barbecue and Carolina-style would allow people some choices. Â
So ... would I go to Willie Boys again?  You betcha!  We had a good time, and good food, and it was pretty reasonably priced, to boot.  So, aside from my minor niggling, I liked it  -- a lot!
Tavern steak cooked perfect, tender, tasty, zero waste. Â Wife said the ribs were good. Baked beans mediocre, think "refried bar b que beans. Â Ran out of baked potato and substituted mashed without asking. Not cool. Â Dinner includes corn bread but when we asked about missing cornbread were told "by request only". We requested it then an never got it. Â Told that Pabst and IPA were $1 tonight but charged us $2. Â Supposed to get Free Dessert for Yelp check in but they were out of 2 of the 3 desserts. Â Willie Boys has promise but they're still struggling to get it right.
Review Source:So I came to Willie boys on Sunday morning for the first time with the fam to try out the breakfast. First impression I was surprised at the decor, they did a decent job but it looks like they blew there cash on the mechanical bull and the big horse out front and skimped on the details like table decor. When I reached for the pepper shaker in the corona bottle out of the bud light condiment caddy i got confused as to where I was, Willie boys or Margaritaville!? The place is big but the open floor seating is awkward I don't really like making eye contact with every other customer there. Just ditch the convention center table and chairs and get some real booths so people have a little privacy while they eat . Also what's up with the half ass "booths" up against the wall?? Talk about being on display!
Service was ok could of been worse. Not sure what's the purpose of the service light on the table if no ones around to see it.
The food was good better than expected. I had the meat skillet with home potatoes and a biscuit with gravy. The portion was definitely bountiful and the biscuit was soft and the gravy was tasty! Â
Overall the food was good might come back to try the BBQ but not until they fix the atmosphere.
We stopped in on a Saturday afternoon for a quick bite after walking around Pioneertown and were on our way home..Was busy but we were seated and served quickly..We each started with a cold draft beer...I ordered tri tip sandwich with sweet potato fries..Husband ordered a pulled chicken sandwich with cole slaw..Both came piping hot, fries were hot and the cole slaw was creamy and not too vinegary. Â Both our meals were great and we will definitely return!
Review Source:We went on a Tuesday evening and there were about 15 tables being seated plus a few bar patrons. I really liked the interior and it's decor. Sort of old west decor with some large screen TV's.
The place is huge and has two bars, a pool table room and a stage for live music. I can imagine it would be a bit noisy on busy nights.
Food is moderately priced BBQ. We were greeted and seated quickly. Our waitress introduced herself and asked us for our drink orders. She returned fairly quickly with our beers and took our orders. We ordered wings for an appetizer and also placed orders for the brisket and the half rack of pork ribs. Food arrived quickly and hot. On the table there is two types of BBQ sauce. A sweet tangy sauce and a Carolina style sauce. Both were good. As side we had corn bread, cole slaw, sweet potato fries and beans. The wings were very good and meaty. The brisket was fantastic and very tender. The ribs also were good. The beans were really good. All in all the food was hot and delicious. The waitress did seem a bit over worked, but came by regularly  to see of all was okay. We had a good time and will be back. Our tab was less than $50  for all the food and drinks (not including tip) and was a good value.
