I have to say this place is GREAT. Not only do they have First Fridays Wine Tasting but also Yappy Hour for the pouches. The staff is very knowledgeable and helpful to any questions you may have about a particular wine.
It is a great hidden gem in Mt. Dora.
Stop in, Â Relax, and have a glass of wine ...or two!!!
Great service & atmosphere. The owners are very personable and have great knowledge of wine. The first Friday night is always a good wine tasting with a wine stroll added in at times as other local businesses host wine through the quaint little town. On the Third Friday is a great event called Yappy Hour where the evening is co-hosted with the Pigglets Pantry next door for a bring your DOG. There is a lot of great value and times to be had at the wine den!
Review Source:Although I thought this place was quite cute and has a great atmosphere, I was not very impressed by the owners attitude. Â I've been to this location twice and both times she was not very helpful AT ALL!!! Â As a matter of fact, she was downright snooty! Â The first time I visited she ignored my presence, the second time I had visited, I was looking for a wine for my wine club (10 members and counting) and our theme was "A Bargain Under $10". Â She expressed she didn't have anything in that price range and continued talking to a patron at the bar. Â
I understand, she may not have had anything in that price range, but was there anything close to it she could have suggested, I gave her this opportunity to redeem herself from my first experience with her and unfortunately she missed it  She could have also suggested something to try at my next wine club meeting.  But, she didn't.  Maybe it's because of the way I was dressed, I don't usually dress as if I have money to spend and I do that for a reason. Â
I wish her the best in her business as it seems there are a lot of people that disagree with me. Â However, I will continue to spend my wine money at Maggie's Attic, where I feel appreciated and they take the time to answer my questions and help me spend my money.
First Friday of every month, this cute little wine shop partners with other local businesses to host a wine stroll through the cute town of Mt. Dora. This boutique wine shop features wines from all over the world in addition to some tasty local wines, as well. The owners are extremely friendly and knowledgeable, and truly love what they do.
Review Source:Small and quaint place to relax and chill with some wine. Had a better selection of wine that I would have expected from a small shop. I've been here a few times and usually stop by when I'm in Mt. Dora. Can be crowded sometimes, but most often it's comfortable. Owner was very friendly.
Review Source:What do you do on a HOT afternoon...well, you go to a wine bar!  I had seen this little place before so I decided to see what the street was blocked off for...Seems The Wine Den has "Yappy Hour" every 3rd Friday of the month, owners can bring their doggies in and a percentage of the proceeds are donated to the Humane Society...and it's become THE spot to go to in Mt. Dora!  PizzAmore caters the event with FREE pizza.  A guitarist  helped set the mood for the event.  I got there early (imagine that) so they were busy setting up for the event and the owner Christine greeted me warmly.
She suggested a Cab/Merlot blend with a great blackberry/oaky finish, sorry I don't remember the vintage. Â Pours here are generous (avg. $8). Â The Wine Den is cozy, with seating for perhaps 25...within 15 minutes the place was packed with pooches! Â What Fun! Â Nice wine selection and Christina's warm personality makes this place a winner.
Small, dark, comfy bar area for sampling wines! Nicely displayed wines for sale! Great friendly service! Stopped in to have a glass of wine and it was such a nice wine shop/lounge.
It was so busy with so many people entering, that it was kind of hard to move around and really look at everything. The shop is small but so pretty. Great location right in the downtown area. I could see how locals would come and enjoy having some great wines in this cozy, comfy lounge.
They had some nice boutique wines to choose from, nicely displayed, average pricing. Cool place to come to before dinner or a lazy afternoon. The service was friendly even though they were packed. Check them out....
