I've been trying to find a decent place in this neck of the woods. Every time I'm up here at the family cabin I've always been stuck eating at local bars and never knew of any nice casual places. My father in law asked me if I wanted to try the "Woodbine." He said the buffet is pretty good. I thought, well it beats going back to a bar.
So on a chilly fall Saturday evening we drove to the Woodbine Inn. I was greeted with a parking lot full of cars, a few out of state plates and lots of locals. I thought they place has to be good. We get inside and it's looking pretty busy. However our party of 4 was seated with 2 minutes of arrival. We surveyed the buffet and decided it would be worthwhile.
Now the buffet on Saturday evenings includes, Prime Rib, Breaded Shrimp, Breaded Chicken, BBQ ribs, mashed potatoes, green beans, salad bar, and soup. Everything was good, now the prices was 16.95 a person. To me that seemed a little steep for a buffet of this size. Maybe if it had dessert it would worth $16.95. I suppose as long as we continue to get good service we will come back.
The interior of this place has the lights dimmed, dark wood tables, that old supper club feel. Place was spotless though. The service was great, our waitress was attentive and did her best to clear plates from our table in a timely manner. Â
It feels good to have a found a nice place to eat in this neck of the woods.
I've been here once before with a group in the back room. Good times. This time i was up visiting my parents and up to see the cranberry festival AND it was my birthday. So woodbine was a good choice. Aside from the fact that they were short on wait staff and our waitress was actually the very frazzled hostess things were pretty good. Service was slow but i took pity on the wait/hostess. I ordered a filet and it was really great, along with the salad bar i was happy with my meal.
Next time i hope i'm not there during cranberry fest and will get better service.
