its a shame we have to cross this place off our "go to local restaurant " list
we often went here for great humble food but I don't know what happen as we had the worst food ever here this past Thursday night .
Over cooked and dryed out wings and ribs - slow service, but not do to the waitress, she was great, tiny drinks and they had a trivia quiz DJ that was blasted through the entire restaurant -
Stopped in here last week with my co-worker for lunch and I'm glad we did because I have another destination to bike this summer.
In short, it was everything I expected from great bar. Two criteria which I needed were met; an impressive craft beer selection and a menu with choices other than usual bar fare. Beyond that, the guy working behind the bar was friendly and attentive even while working a decent lunch crowd. Cannot over state how prompt and friendly the staff was.
Okay so I went with the wings, hear me out though. When I go to a new restaurant I like to try to the chicken wings because I think they are a good compass of judging the quality of the rest of the items on the menu. If a place has enough pride in their standard fare like wings, the rest of the menu is worth visiting. They offered a grilled option which I wish more places did (trying to watch the girlish figure). As usual, I ordered them 'as hot as you can make em' and Woody's didn't pull any punches. in fact they called my bluff. Â They were so deliciously flammable that I almost couldn't finish. Well played Woody's.
I look forward to coming back when it warms up just a bit, as the patio outside looked like a great way to enjoy the summer evenings.
I went for a late night dinner after work. The bar area was busy. We were seated in the separate dining room. I felt bad for the few families that were still there since we were a semi-rowdy group of 5. The server was awesome. She always made sure we were okay with drinks - we didn't have to flag her down once for a refill. She took to our humor well which is always a plus as we aren't always PC.
The food was good too. I ordered the chicken portobello sandwich... with sweet potato fries. Delish. My friend ordered a turkey burger which he liked. I thought the prices were good for the food and drinks. It didn't take long for the food to come out which was good because we were starving and can get cranky when it takes a while.
I have been to Woody's several times for lunch. I have always enjoyed the atmosphere, the salad bar, Â & the food in general. Â The service is terrific and always with a smile.
I had been introduced to Woody's by a friend, and we love it.
Saturday night my husband went for the 1st time and he had the Nacho's and was not disappointed. I had the salad bar, which I usually have. Potato salad, seafood salad, cole slaw, and so much more with  many choices of  dressing's.  Plus, the onion soup, never a disappointment. One of my favorites, and I order onion soup most places.
My daughter had ribs and they were delectable.
The over all bill for 5 and a child was around $80. Not bad and my husband had a couple of beers.
2 thumbs up.
