2 Margaritas Family Restaurant

Great little place in Allyn!

Visiting friends that recently moved here from SoCal.  Although a 'small chain', I think they have 3 or 4, this was a really good Mexican restaurant in the PacNorWest.  Not a lot of people when we went in, service was fast and polite and food was good.  Served chips & salsa including a bowl of refried beans and a bowl of sauteed mushrooms...never had that before.  Very nice decor, all bright colors.  All the tables and chairs are painted differently.

Because of its convenient location about halfway between Shelton and Bremerton, I meet a friend here fairly often for lunch. It works well for us as we are both fans of Mexican food and the staff are kindly tolerant of our 2-hour lunches.

Coming from Texas, we have a certain expectation of what makes a good Mexican restaurant. Usually you can tell right away by the salsa they bring with the chips. If they can't make a decent salsa, you might as well vamoose. Their salsa is muy bien... fresh ingredients with plenty of kick and lots of fresh cilantro. They also serve a mushroom tapenade and refried beans with the chips, which makes for a nice variety and means you need a refill on your chip basket.

Like any restaurant, they have their strengths and weaknesses. Most of their entrée items are pretty good, but I'm not a big fan of the rice and beans. I usually order the Macho Burrito or the flautas. I'm actually a pretty big fan of their flautas.

Very good tortilla soup.  Chips and sides first thing are great.  Margarita on the rocks, not the best I've had.  All in all, i would recommend this place though.
