One of my favorite places to eat in Pacific; the food and atmosphere are excellent.

Get the wings traditional dry wings and the brisket sandwich with provel. Those two items are by far the best on the menu, but the other food is great as well. We've come here many a time and never had a bad experience.

Added bonus: they now take credit card which is relatively new!

A few friends and I headed here last night because we read the other reviews and thought it would be cool. Let me put this nicely, this place has the potential to be cool but it simply is not. This place is full of trashy toothless townies. The beer selection is terrible and you basically feel like you're in a tiny local dive bar but with lots of space instead. Not in any way worth a trip.

3rd Rail is a great place to grab a drink and enjoy some tasty bar food.  I like the brisket the best, but their brat burgers are good, too.  It is in Pacific, just across from the caves and not too far from the railroad tracks off Old Rte 66--you won't have any problem knowing when a train is coming by!  It sits that close to the tracks.

A couple of changes that I don't see reflected in some of the other reviews:  free refills on soft drinks, YAY!  Credit cards are now accepted.  I think that changed some time over the past couple of months.

Great place to play pinball, pool or shuffleboard.  I counted eight pinball machines the last time I was there.

First of all, I believe Justin M needs a lesson in there/they're/their. But I digress....

3rd Rail gets 5 stars. You'd expect a *nice* bar in P-Town to be a West County wannabe, but it's classy without being pretentious.

There's also cheap bar food available that doesn't disappoint. It actually tastes fresh!

Make sure to bring cash. As of late 2011, they did not take debit/credit.

If you love the atmosphere of Fast Eddies but hate the scary 45 minute drive to East Alton (and lets face it who doesn't?) why not drive the 20 minutes in the opposite direction to Pacific, Missouri and go to the wonderfully secretive 3rd Rail.

If you are from Pacific, its location is simply where Sheffield's use to be. If you are not a P-townian, it is off Old Rte 66 and pays respect to the memorable highway by being all what a Rte 66 dive bar should be.

In an area craving something different than townie bars and the Mexican restaurant, 3rd Rail delivers with a cool, "adults only" vibe and half-asses it absolutely nowhere. From the look of the place, to the food, you honest to God will have no idea what it is doing in a strip mall with a dollar shop and Hostess outlet store.

The set up is, for lack of a better explanation, exactly like Fast Eddies except with way better food. The small menu consists of burgers, wings, and the peel and "Eat Me" shrimp all for under $3 dollars. Everything is A la carte and you walk up to the kitchen to order. There are wall to wall arcade games, shuffleboard, and pool. The place is smoke free but for smokers there is an awesome Saloon section of the bar to light up. Patrons will have there choice of drink with a great beer selection filled with AB products as well as some pretty hip micro brew favorites. The outdoor patio and great live music really puts this place in the running for one of the best bars west of the city limits.

Awesome burgers (get the brat burger), friendly service, cold beers, and the only place in Franklin County you can hear Cee Lo Green's "F*** You" while you eat dinner. Leave the kids at home and go to 3rd Rail. You will have a blast.
