Ate here for lunch on a Friday and it was amazing. I had the best server I've ever had, Kristina. Â She was super nice and overall the best restaurant employee ever. Â I had the Cajun Chicken Philly with Bacon and it was the best chicken Philly. Â The fries are good and atmosphere was great. Pretty busy on a Friday afternoon. Â I will defiantly be back for more!!!!
Review Source:I go there a lot on Mondays (drink specials and app specials) and love love love summer/spring/fall days in the bar, open doors remind me of places in California! Tim in the bar area is amazingly attentive and nice! They have the best salads (my favorite is the Fajita salad and the Summer salad is wonderful!!!) and the sirloin steak is a thing of beauty! My hubby gets the chicken fried chicken everytime and is never ever dissapointed. My kids love thier chicken strips!! They have a hug menu, alot of burgers and steaks and some amzing Mexican (more ex mex) but really really good. The Gringo dip is my unhealthy spurlge when out with the Girls!!! I highly reccomend 54th street~!
Review Source:On Friday, 1/18/13 my party of six went to 54 th street for a yearly occasion. Â Our wait time was approximated at about 30 minutes. Â The waiting area is small and inadequate, with many people growing impatient. Â (Few people enjoy waiting while tightly bunched, I understand). Â Nearly 90 minutes later we were sat in the center of the restaurant and lost for quite a while by any staff. Â The place was crowded so I will cut some slack, but nearly ten minutes later, the waiter arrived and took drink order asking if we knew what we wanted. Â Only three of our party had a menu and if you have ever been here you understand the menu is huge. Â It took nearly thirty minutes to get drinks and finally place the orders. Â
I ordered a Ruben with onion rings. Â My brother order pasta with spinach and chicken, he asked to hold the shrimp. Â My sandwich arrived cold and his pasta was full of shrimp. Â A six year old was in our party and her drink was handed over without a lid (Poor planning) her mother identified the problem and corrected the situation before Kiddie Cocktail went all over the dining room.
Everyone else had simple orders and all were, okay. Â Nothing about this restaurant was fun. Â Nothing about the service was stellar. Â Nothing about the food was anything beyond average.
The parking lot was a test of courage. Â Someone needed to be a fighter pilot to identify a spot and pull in before the competition gets there. Â Be prepared to walk from a neighboring lot to the restaurant from door.
I always try to encourage people to eat locally and ignore the chains, this is why. Â Without a local tie, there is no love in the food and the servers can't wait to clock out and do something better. Â Arnold has few choices of solid places to eat and this is a great example of why people should either eat at home or visit the city.
I am truely getting to the point that I don't know where to select my ratings for these mid-level restaurants. Â if the food is decent, the service is decent, and the prices are decent, I have to be a fan right?
I guess I am. Â I have been to this restaurant several times and the food has always been good or decent at the minimum. Â The service has always been really good, the prices are very average for the style/selection. Â The one great thing about 54th street is their menu reads like "War and Peace" as it is like 34 pages. Â Obviously I am exaggerating, but 54th Street has a large selection of food to pick from.
If the Titanic was sinking, I feel 54th Street would jump in the same life raft as Chili's, Olive Garden, O'Charleys, and Applebee's, Â That meaning they aren't fast food kids, but they aren't 5-Star restaurants either. Â People will not look strange at you if you are wearing a suit or if you are wearing mesh shorts and no sleeves. Â They fill that niche of being able to server all people from age 2 to 102 and pasta, steak, mexican, pizza, and so on.
It is a nice place for a reasonably priced lunch or dinner with plenty of options.
Just so so. Â Could take it or leave it. Â I'm sure I will return, but it probably won't be my choice. Â The food was satisfactory, about what you'd expect from an Applebee's. Â Oh yeah, it's kinda got that pop cultural salvage yard feel to it as well. Â Extensive menu with little to choose from. Â Same old, same old neighborhood chain.
Review Source:Ehhhhh. That's how I can best describe 54th street. It's just ok.
54th Street is just another TGI Friday's/Applebee's/Chili's like restaurant with all the flair all over the walls and a menu that has just about everything. I will have to give them credit though, they have a cool patio bar area that can be closed or opened depending on the weather. That definitely steps them above other similar restaurants in my book.
Their Gringo cheese dip stuff is really good. That's the only thing on the menu that screamed "try me, I'm something different." Otherwise it's your standard American family restaurant with a giant menu, hit or miss teenybopper wait service, and some decent happy hour specials.
I'm almost embarassed to be writing this review, but we've moved to the county and family-run private eateries are few and far between. After expressing my protest of chain restaurants, my sister, Mom, and I made a trip to 54th Street Grill Tuesday night...
Needless to say, I was actually kind of impressed. We were seated quickly, the waitress was pleasant and my turkey burger was yummy. My sister tried the Coyote Chicken and was very impressed by how well it was prepared, but underwhelmed by the "steamed" veggies, as they were covered in butter.
Overall, if you have to hit up a chain for dinner, I would say this one does the job of filling your belly.
The first time we went we had a long wait and was seated in a booth, although we requested a table. It was so noisy and crowded one could not talk. Â I told the waitress I could not eat seeds or nuts, or spices, and what would she suggest. Â Oh no problem says she. Â I ordered a sandwich and it had Sesame seeds, so she said she would bring a bottom bun to replace the top bun. Â Both bottom buns had lots of seeds on the sides of them. Â My wife had a steak and it was tough, as was my meat. Â The bread they brought out was full of seeds, and they had no other. Â They did not have a baked potato, but she would bring me fries. Â The fries were full of spices. Â So last week a friend wanted to go there, and I had almost forgotten how awful the food was. Â We did not have to wait this time as it was 2:00 PM. Â Same bread with seeds, and I told this waitress of the same problems I have.
So I received a grilled chicken breast so spicy and tough I couldn't eat it after being reassured it wasn't spicy. Â Still no baked potato. Â A steak place does not have a potato one can eat?? I remembered the awful fries, so opted for vegetables that were full of seeds and so much black pepper I couldn't eat it. Â If you have dietary problems, don't go. Â I much prefer Ponderosa. Â At least you have a choice if you want to eat spicy or food that tastes like food. Â I guess if you drink a lot of drinks you don't notice how bad the food is at 54th. Â Or if you like hot spicy food you might like it. Â I much prefer Ponderosa in Arnold. Â It is very clean and much cheaper for good food you can eat.
I took my family to this restaurant for the first time Saturday afternoon. My whole family including my youngest daughter (who is VERY picky) loved the food and service. I can't say enough good things about the food and service. My steak was cooked to perfection, EVEN the french fries had a unique taste. Very Very good, easy 5 star food and service.
Review Source:I went there a while back and found the place to be much like a most of those restaurants with the local lore or old time fun on the walls. The wait for a bit much but we stuck it out because it was a new place and we wanted to see. We got seated after a 45 to hour wait, which again we didn't mind, but then we got seated and i do like their menu there is alot there to choose from. I decided on the catfish and was not dissapointed. I found it to be very filling, and the waitstaff was attentive. I only gave it an a-okay simply for the fact that it's much like other places and it didn't stand out even if the food was good.
Review Source:I went here once and had a pretty decent experience...for a Red Robin type place at least...then I went back and had a horrible experience...I mean some of the worst service I have ever experienced at a restaurant. Â So...I am rounding both experiences out to three and hoping that if I go back, it will be more like the first time. Â
The food is standard American fare. Â Nothing spectacular but decent and filling. Â The portions are big, especially for the price. Â The atmosphere is, well, family friendly. Â Because Arnold is smoke free (which I love), they have opened the bar to be a big open air space that allows people to still smoke "indoors" which I am sure the smokers of Arnold appreciate. Â You can find anything you would expect to find on the menu: burgers, chicken, salads, etc. Â But, like I said, it's just nothing...spectacular.
As for the service, as I said, the first time I went here, it was fine. Â They waitress was attentive and did her job well. Â The second time was awful. Â We never got our drinks refilled, our food came out cold, the waitress was incredibly rude and acted like we were a burden she had to deal with before she went out with her 17 year old boyfriend for the night who was working the section next to ours, and it was generally just an awful experience. Â Maybe she was having a bad night, but even the manager didn't seem fazed by our complaints when we very politely pointed them out. Â I might go back, but with great trepidation...
