Roberto's Trattoria

This is one of the best Italian restaurants in St. Louis County.  My family and I have been coming here for years.  We used to frequent Roberto's old location on Gravois.  The food here is excellent.  They always seem to have good specials.  In my opinion, the best thing on the menu is the Filet Roberto, which is a nice sized filet topped with cheese and mushrooms.  I get mine without the mushrooms, but it is fantastic.  Their pastas are much cheaper than the main entrees.  All of the entrees come with a side.  The only possible downfall anyone could have with this place is that it is a little pricey, but in my opinion the food is worth it.  Also, the service here is always good.  Roberto has to be the most personable restaurant owner I've ever met.  He's always there to greet guests, and lets them know that he appreciates the business.  If you've never been here, give this place a shot.  You won't be disappointed.

Roberto's is really awesome. My parents go there regularly, so we had Dad's 90th birthday dinner there. We were treated like royalty, for sure! Waiter Steve and his server, whose name I didn't catch, have a very good rhythm to serving a larger party. Everything arrived on time and perfect.

There were 11 of us, including 3 pre-teens. I wouldn't normally recommend a white linen restaurant for children, but the staff was great. The kids all had bowls of buttered noodles and were just happy as clams.

Our table was served the sea bass, several veal dishes, and a few other things, sorry, memory fades. Everyone raved about their meal. We never felt rushed, and it was a lovely dinner.

The only reason I left a star off was my own meal. I ordered the ravioli, and to my disappointment, it appeared and tasted to me as if they weren't house made, or had been frozen at some point. When I go back, I'll order the cannelloni, which ARE house made.

But the most important part of the night was that Dad had the time of his life. Thanks Roberto and staff!
