Who doesn't love fried chicken?? Fergie's does it right...and I'm not QUITE a fried chicken expert, but I'm damn close to it :-) The crust is perfect, the white meat's surprising juicy, every piece was tender & cooked right, and it's a ridiculous value...a half chicken w/ 2 sides for like $8....just another reason to love Fergie's.
Review Source:Love to go here for the fried chicken dinner. The best place  for fried chicken this side of River Des Pere!
Other reviewer commented on it being smoky. Well, they are smoke free now so don't let that scare you away.
They have a large "regular " crowd that fills in game nights to watch the games and drink cold beers. So if you want dinner try a different night. If you want beer and sports TV, any night it cant be beat.
Knotty pine walls and vintage sports clippings dictate the overall feel at this south county tavern. Â For us regulars, it's an institution and the ONLY place to watch a Mizzou game, unless you're at the game live. Â The owner is a die-hard tiger enthusiast, so don't look for him if there's a home game. Â
Of course the beer is great, but the food is equally good. Â Only a couple of stinkers on the menu. Â The Fergie's wings are a deep-fried favorite with the runner up being the Deluxe cheeseburger (1/2 lb, bacon, cheese...ask for wing sauce for dipping and you'll be in heaven. Â The pizza is a pretty good resentation of St. Louis style. Â Try the pizza and pitcher special.
One downside only: Â it can get smoky. Â For this reason, we usually try to get there early for Saturday lunch or an off-evening. Â The place was packed for Sat. night karaoke the two times I went. Â If you're into the St. Louis local tavern vibe, be sure and check it out. Â I don't know of a better neighborhood joint.
