My girlfriend and I are on a road trip from California on highway 40 and knew we wanted to stop to eat in Texas. Â The only problem was it was 11pm and barely anyone was open. Â We looked up restaurants near Amarillo and 7 Grill and Bar came up. Â We decided to give it a shot and were pleasantly surprised. Â The food is very reasonably priced and delicious (we got the cheese sticks, chicken fried chicken sandwich, and angus burger). Â The atmosphere is youthful but relaxing. Â The thing that stood out the most however, was the customer service. Â The staff was all very friendly from the moment we walked in, but once we mentioned we were from out of state, they went above and beyond any expectations we had, even offering to send us on the road with some soft drinks. Â I would highly recommend this restaurant whether you're local or just passing through.
Review Source:I like seeing what "sports bars" show on a weekday afternoon when there's not legit sports like football and baseball and soccer on. Â Some just put on NFL and MLB network and the 17 ESPN channels. Â This one opted for the fringe sports of golf, human cockfighting and oversized trucks with wheels climbing rocks in the desert. Â
Nice interior, clean and sleek. Â There were exactly four tables taken at 2:30 on a Thursday afternoon so we had a waiter, a bartender and a manager taking care of us, making for impeccable service. Â
The food was pretty good. Â I had a tuna sandwich and chips. Â The chips were a bag of off brand plain potato chips. Â The sandwich was good but it had clearly been made first and was left waiting for the rest of our food to come out so it was practically soaked through the bread by the time I got it. Â Add tuna sandwiches to the list of foods you can eat with a spoon. Â
All in all not very bad, definitely a place I'd go back to. Â Preferably when there's a football game on though.
I was pleasantly surprised by the menu at 7. Â First of all, everything is $7.00! Â The food was fresh and delicious with generous portions. Â I also really liked the atmosphere. Â It's not at all what one would expect from a storts bar. Â It's bright, airy, and it's also kid-friendly. Â We will definitely go again.
Review Source:After driving for 18 hours, we had to find something quick, not fast, to please the whole family. Not easy at 8:45pm on a Sunday night, but a yee-haw and big thank you Yelpers in Texas!
Although I was holding out for the 72 ounce steak challenge from that famous touristy Route 66 spot, Â we ended up at 7. It was definitely a bar, definitely clean, and definitely cool inside. Great start! Everything was ordered and brought out to the table within minutes with the Texas star going to my 12-ounce ribeye. 7 saved me 60-the other 60 ounces would not be belly fat and a gut ache, but the deep fried waffle sundae hit me below the belt.
When we returned to our car, we discovered a huge fountain of water pouring onto the hood from a broken sprinkler. After LMBO for five minutes, we realized the joke was on us. The windows were cracked and everything in the front seat was soaked...iPods and phones included. Good thing it was till 89 degrees outside to dry it all off. Yes mam!
I've been here twice. They have great TVs! Â Lots of them & nice quality, large, flat screens....everywhere.
The first time I was here I had the Chipotle Kissed Chicken Sandwich. It was tasty, good portion size, & I believe I got the sweet potato fries as my side.
Last night I had the filet. It was quite good. Â Maybe just a bit over-cooked(ordered it medium, was closer to med well). Â Two people in our party got rib-eyes & they were good, but a very thin cut. Rib-eyes were supposed to be 12 oz & the filet 6 oz, Â but they looked very similar in size, somewhere in between those sizes.
All-in-all, with great happy hour specials & drink specials they run during big games (both times we've been there), and consistently good food, I'd say this is a pretty good place to hang out.
Oh, and I didn't mention that everything on the menu (except the steak dinners) is $7.
