Poor food and servers that push beer sales all night, even after telling them 4 times no more beer since you are driving. Â Ordered the grouper sandwich - Â it seemed impressive at first, but after you take a bite, I bet you do not taste fish. Â Upon inspection, there was a paper thin layer of breaded and fried fish (really dark in color).. Â The fish was prior frozen and had a mushy texture. Â The fish was paper thin, had no moisture or taste. Â The worst fish sandwich I ever ate (even McDonald's is 10 times better and 1/3 the cost). Â The only positive was the heaping of red onion, banana peppers and tomatoes. Â Big helping of veggies to hide the fact that the fish is basically non-existent and likely not grouper. Â Awful.
The club will also take a Band Tip jar to each person in the audience, and give you a condescending look if you do not contribute. I already paid for the Band with a $10.40 advance ticket purchase.
the only reason I give them 5 stars is you can t give them 6. great house salads, whatever I had there always fresh ,delicious and big portions. place looks like a old barn, nightly live music. the only thing I don t like , you can smoke inside(funny somedays they do sometimes they don t )will go back when in florida.
Review Source:Wow - the food here is absolutely ridiculous. Started with a house salad and knew from that point on that there was something going on here that belied the smoky, dilapidated interior - how about some great Italian food.
We had Shrimp in a white garlic sauce and a Pizza  - both were fabulous. A cannoli to finish was also very good. Can't say enough about the food, this from an Italian couple from Boston accustomed to eating in the North End.
The service from our Bartender was also great. Chilled Captains came out perfectly, and she certainly looked after us nicely. This is a great find for those that love really good Italian.
Aces Lounge is the premier Bradenton music venue. Now I know that's like saying the tallest midget in the room, but hey it's local and they do get good bands often. I always have a good time there and the music is always good. (Well maybe not Wednesday from what I heard). Whether I like the music ( which I almost always do) or if I don't (like maybe on that Wed? ) Aces delivers. I give the venue 5 stars for it's sake, not if I enjoyed the music a certain night. Aces is aces with me.
Review Source:Good blues bar. Â Tip for n00bs. Â Look at the Calendar, then youtube the bands playing ahead of time. Â That way, you'll watch a blues band you enjoy!

*NOTE* Review is for Wednesday night Open Blues Jam only, not anything else concerning the bar, food or staff.
DO NOT GO IF YOU WANT TO SEE/HEAR GOOD BLUES MUSIC WEDNESDAY NIGHTS
First off I've been hitting this supposedly 'open' blues jam two times a year for the past 5 years on my vacation and every time is the same lame experience. I only give it the benefit of the doubt due to my family's desire to see me perform.
Now, as for the paltry amateurs that run this "jam". The night is run by a different knucklehead every other Wednesday, that's 2 knuckleheads if you're counting, and as a very seasoned professional musician, this may work on some level but it leaves a lot to be desired as the formula for an open jam is actually pretty regimented and requires a certain amount of rules and discipline.
Ok I'm still not on point yet, here goes. Every time I go, keep in mind my schedule, I see the same lame players. There are a couple of them that are good but their pretentious self centered approach is tasteless. There is a very bad smell of cronyism here so much so it should be called a circle jerk and not an open jam. Start with 'closed jam' than go from there. They have a list for you to put your name on, normal, but they never call you!! Hello? Are you kidding? This is the serious nature of their mistake. They have a list, you put your name down, and they NEVER call your name!! Do you get it??
What will happen is the same deal with this rude crew and will end up bringing up each of their friends to play crappy hour long jams of 1-4-5 trad hack blues. Insanely boring unless you're one of the completely inebriated locals that seem to be the norm in this stuck between two wealthy jewels of FLA powhunk town.
Here's the bottom line, either they suck completely on all levels ( my theory) or it's a scam to get unknowingly, good musicians in there hoping to play, drink a bunch of drinks while waiting (thinking) their name will be called and their turn will come. From what I've heard from some of the drunk locals is exactly what you'll realize, this blues Jam sucks, holds the bottom of the barrel down pat and the others that populate the other weekdays around town are much, much better.
Aces Wednesday Night Blues Jam....dead to me.
