Staying nearby, and with limited transportation, this place seemed to be the only thing going on. Â Surprisingly, I had a decent cheeseburger, fries and a pint. Â People were sparse, so the service was good. Â We went through 3 different bartenders/servers; and we ran the gamut of customer service. Â The first one couldn't care less, the second one cared and was nice, the third was fast, nice and attentive. Â An eclectic mix of people and luckily no one wanted to kick my ass.
Review Source:OH the dancefloor. Â Need I say more? Â It takes forever to get a drink here. Â It isn't really near any other cool places to go out. Â You are kindof stuck. Â
Pro's, you will see some interesting people out and about. Â Con's, They may try to start a fight with you. Â
I agree Jamie, it used to rock.
I just read the last review and this person does not really know anything about The Aftershock. Â First, it does not have new management. Â Second, its not a country bar. Â
The Aftershock is a Sports Bar/Nightclub located in a very small town. Â It must cater to a wide range of customers. Â The owners also have the attached Bowling Center (Epicenter) and the Hotel. Â
There are a number of promotions. Â The real reason that business has slowed down is there is high unemployement, three other night clubs and people are not spending thier disposable income. Â
Give the place a try, you won't be disappinted unless your looking for the HIPHOP crowd or a good fight, that you won't find here.
I used to be a regular here. However, after the bar management changed hands, it became less spectacular. I recall days when it was full to capacity, lines out on the side walk. I used to stay from 8pm to Closing. The staff was what made it in it's hey-day. It has become a pretty boring, the country thing has got it. It could be a great place to watch sports. It has potential to be great again. They do have a state of the art sound system, mood lighting and a great selection of booze. Bartenders are decent, friendly and skilled. The food is decent, the whole 'Kid Friendly' thing is a bit creepy, it's a buzz-kill. The hot-wings used to rock, but have turned to slop. Hit it on a Friday night around 10:00pm to catch it lively, or wait until you hear a promotion on the radio, otherwise avoid it.
