Red's Backwoods Bbq

It's got the ambiance of a chain diner, but the bbq is good: meaty, juicy, fairly tender. Suitable for eating with fork and knife, which is how the presentation invites you to eat it.

NO MORE PULLED BBQ BEEF!!!! NOOOO!!! Big mistake, Red's....this was our favorite thing on the menu, and now its gone....replaced with BBQ Brisket slices, which were OK, but not nearly as good as their pulled beef.  You lost a star from me.  

We came here last night expecting the same, good old Red's that we knew a year ago last time we came to Klamath for a visit...seems like the atmosphere has changed a bit.  Not as many customers, service was not very attentive, not horrible, just nothing spectacular.  Their pulled pork is still the same, thank God, great flavor, and I love their sweet coleslaw, I think I could eat a bucket of that!  However just an overall lackluster performance compared to what they were a year ago....*sigh*....bring back the pulled BBQ beef, Red's!!!!

We live in Klamath Falls and eat out regularly. We were in the area tonight (9-29-12) and decided to stop at Red's. We've eaten there a couple of time and it is nothing special (not much is in Klamath Falls).

The food was the usual and get's 2 stars. We had the 10oz Rib Eye and Pulled pork, pulled Chicken and Brisket. She had a class of water and white Zinfandel. I had Coffee w/cream. Like I said the food was the usual 2 stars, nothing special and the chicken was nasty. Cheapest wine money can buy, at least the coffee was good. Not being from Klamath Falls originally we know good restaurants and food, this wasn't even close to it. It never is but there is VERY limited eateries here.

Our problem was with our waitress (I believe her name is Mindy).
She took almost 20 minutes to take our order.
Never refilled the water, she only brought 1 to the table.
Never refilled, or offered, the coffee.
The wine came almost 10 minutes after the meal.
Never asked anything, acted most of the time like we weren't there.

The only reason we didn't walk out while waiting was the waitress covering the tables behind us. She took care of us every time she walked by. Refilled coffee, water and asked how we were doing every time she walked by. I wish we knew her name, she is the best waitress at Red's. She is the ONLY reason we gave the place 2 stars.

Our usual tip is 20-25% depending on good-excellent service. We left no tip since Mindy would have gotten it. If we would have had cash the other waitress would have gotten 25% right in front of Mindy to show her what good service get you. This is only the 3rd time in decades we've left no tip.

Think we'll start posting a lot more on Yelp. Hopefully if can save others some time, frustration and money.
