What can I say about Aiello's? Â I'm a regular there for a reason. Â Friendly, attentive staff and fantastic food. Â They always have very creative options for specials and the penne ala vodka is the best I've ever had. Â For those who want a more casual meal, try the eggplant parm pizza. Â It's to die for!
Review Source:We went to NYC for the summer and our way back home to Canada, we took a pit stop as we were hungry. We had no idea we would find this hidden gem. WOW!
Home made italian food and we even met the nonna who makes it. Talk about authentic. Everyone there was friendly and personable. The place was spotless and smelled amazing.
I had the chicken parm and my husband had the penne a la vodka. Crazy amazing!
All I can say is this a place we will definetly go back to when travelling to and from NYC!!!
Three things: great atmosphere and decorations, but slow service and expensive small meals.
I came with a party of five and it seemed a little busy, but it took around an hour for us to finally get our meals. I ordered Fettucini Alfredo and was dissapointed on how small the plate was for 14 dollars. I order that almost everytime I go to an italian restaurant at home and it is always much cheaper with much more pasta.
On the positive side, the sauce was very good quality and they had lots in the dish. If anything, they could have thrown in more pasta since there was so much extra sauce.
Aiello is a place that was recommended to me, the drive is far but well worth it for a nice night of dining out. Â The food is very good, it's the sort of good Italian food I am used to in NYC, where it feels like southern comfort food as opposed to simply pasta. Â My then GF and I have been here countless of times, never minding the voyage to get there (15-20 minutes outside of Bing-a-ling). Â There are well known italian places my grad student friends have pointed me to, places the townies frequent religiously, but none of them are as good as Aiello.
Review Source:Don't go there for only sandwiches and overly topped pizza. Although tasty, it will be nothing special.
This place offers the best NY style pizza in the area (or the whole entire Central NY), hands down. The sauce, the crust and the rest. They also serves a made-to-order oversized thin-crust stromboli that will knock your socks off. They use only fresh peppers and onions (along with the usual ham and pepperoni), not pre-cooked like in most other Italian places.
Other recommendations are the Aiello Wings (glazed with a light BBQ sauce) and their iced cappuccino (crushed).
The atmosphere of the restaurant was a little noisy for lunchtime. Â We went on Mother's Day, and we were seated in the lounge room, very near the bar. Â While this certainly detracted from the ambiance of a nicely furnished room, the food was really good and the menu was really long.
I had a chicken spiedie sub. Â The chicken was really tender and seasoned well, and the homemade roll topped it off. Â The sub was quite large, probably footlong. Â I had a bite of my dad's pizza, and it was decent and the individual slices were big. Â The service was good.
The bar is a full bar, and the beer selection is quite extensive. Â Blue Moon, Yuengling, and Sam Adams are among the premium beers they have. Â They appear to have good desserts, but we didn't try them.
I've been here twice, and while this isn't the best pizza or sub that I've had, it was tasty. Â The quality furnishings, tavern-like feel of the lounge area, and decent seating counteract the noise, and this place really should be 3.5 stars. Â But since the chicken was just so good and at a decent price, this place gets rounded up.
For such a small town, this restaurant is not bad. Â Having moved up here from NYC, I am happy there's a nice restaurant right in town to entertain family and out of town guests. Â Pretty much standard fare, not gourmet, but well presented and good. Â Very nice atmosphere - bartenders, wait-staff and patrons are all pleasant and make a newcomer to town feel welcomed.
Review Source:I had lunch here today with several dear friends I get to see once a year - at lunch at Aiello's. Â The restaurant occupies the first floor of a former hotel in Whitney Point. Â There are 4 areas to the restaurant - the lounge in the front with windows looking out on the traffic on Route 11, the center room which has built in booths and some tables, and the two main dining areas in the back. Â The two back rooms are quite lovely and have trimmings of a hotel from a bygone era. Â The side room in the back is decorated quite nicely for the holidays.
We had sandwiches. Â 4 of us got the special which was a turkey sandwich on multi-grain roll with fries. Â The sandwich was very tasty. Â The company was even better.
Aiello's has a varied menu with many Italian specialties. Â When I lived near here, we stopped often and had dinner. Â We also got pizza to take out. Â They have the best broccoli and cheese white pizza you could want.
At lunch, there's a buffet with salad fixings, beans, pizza, and some other hot items I didn't check out because I didn't want to eat that much.
The owners, Charlie and Vince, are quite nice guys who really work hard for their family business.
