The Airport is a special place. It is my favorite hang-out and the food is great. Yes, Tom and Robbie do it right. It is somewhat off the beaten path (Mt. Bullion-Hwy 49 a few miles north of Mariposa (Old Town) but when it comes to a good place to hang with your friends, the Airport is the spot. Good people, good conversation and, if your a Clamper (Matuca E Clampus Vitus) you will feel right at home. If you are not EVC, well you will learn a little about what this Red Shirted "drinking" Historical Fraternity is all about (or is it "historical" Drinking Fraternity?) Sometime I get it backwards?? At any rate, if you are from "out of town" this is a great place to find out that there is a great bunch of people who actually live in Mariposa. If you are from Mariposa, all this is wasted on you; you already know what I'm talking about!
Review Source:The Airport Inn is a wonderful place to go where the friendliest people are; the food is excellent; and the owners are awesome and most hospitable. Â There is always something going on such as good music, pool tournaments, shuffle board and there are turkey shoots for people in need. Â Just an all around wonderful place. Â It just can't get any better than Tom and Robbie's place. Â Hope to see you there soon. Â Once you come I know you will be back.
Review Source:This place is awesome! My lady and I stopped here after dark on our way to McCabe BLM camp ground. We walked in and it is a local scene for sure. We stood there like people who are not from there would probably stand. Looking lost and not sure what to do. The locals yelled for Duke the bartender/cook who greeted us friendly.
We ordered burger each and beer/soda. I honestly didn't know what to expect, but the burgers were awesome. They came out looking and smelling great with a nice spread of the usual veggies plus a peperchini and a slice of sweet cake.
We loved it and will go back if we are ever in the area again.
