Found this restaurant on Yelp. Â Did not realize when I set out to find it that it is actually about 8 miles out of Tillamook town center / 8 miles off 101. Â Worth It! Â Sweet ride along the river and through Oregon farm country.
Great breakfast place. Â Dad and I had biscuits and gravy with eggs (Brian's special) and it was the real deal. Â Mine with pepper bacon (substitution - No problem.) - so good and filling. Â Mom had waffles and pretty much licked the plate while complaining it was too much food. Â Plenty of refills of the large "Alice's County House" coffee mugs too.
The restaurant is a series of rooms that were apparently the office of a vacation cabins operation from the 30's or 40"s. Â It is filled with farming and logging ephemera. The service was friendly and attentive.
Yay! I'm a Fan
I've only eaten there once. Â Last month after my colonoscopy I was starving, so we decided to stop at Alice's on the way home. Â I thought my cheeseburger was great, and my husband loved his special burger also.
I did go to the salad bar, and wasn't to excited about it, it's very small. Â Next time I'll just order the coleslaw (which was very good).
Have to admit, it's been a couple-few years since I lived in the Tillamook area, but I remember Alice's so fondly. Â Good homecooking, ample portions... Â
It's a diner on a rural highway, so one needs to expect service and ambiance accordingly, but, oh...I don't know that I ever had bad food there, truly!! Â MMMMmmm! Â Fond memories!
