Agree with all the reviews, this place is a great little find! Â Combo plate is very good. Â I always get pulled pork, sausage and brisket. Â If there has been any hiccups, one time out of 5 the brisket was overly fatty... Â I'll give them the benefit of the doubt because we did come in very close to closing that time and I am from TX so have been lucky to have world class brisket in the past :-) Â It definitely won't keep my from coming back!
Review Source:Well, my profile says I am from Altus, OK, but that is just where I (have to) live right now. Â Altus is a sad state of affairs in almost all ways, with the culinary scene being no exception. Â
So All American is my go to place. Â We like to joke that there is a list of tolerable restaurants here and it is common to hear, "Is it on the list?" Â My list is very, very short since The Pantry closed. Â I will go to All American which is in Blair so technically not even in Altus and I will go to Pick Up Taco. Â I also like the coffee from Confectionately Yours (plus I like to go there in the afternoon - you can meet a lot of nice people and learn a lot about what is going on in town by having an afternoon coffee here). Â But I digress.
As stated, All American is one of just two restaurants in which I will eat in this area. Â It is in a gas station and that is part of the charm. Â The BBQ is fantastic and the Becky Burger (swiss cheese, mushrooms, jalapenos - oh my!) is a greasy bomb of deliciousness. Â The owner is wonderful and incredibly genuine. Â He is there every time we go and always wants to make sure our food is good and we are being taken care of. Â
The clientele seems to be very local - lots of farmers, oil and construction workers. Â Again, part of the charm and the people are friendly and kind. Â Two thumbs up for All American!
