This was a welcome surprise. Normally, hotel bars kind of suck. However, Alumni House was just the kind place my partner and I were looking for to watch the Super Bowl. They actually had some descent craft beet on tap and at $3 a pint how could you go wrong? The food was pretty much what you would expect from a sports bar, but I did try something new. Who knew that deep fried pickles would be such a great compliment to IPA?
Review Source:Its a good place go an watch ant games...thy hAve 32 TV an the wall and at the table...the food is excellent and and waitresses are all good looking....home Friday night they have karaoke...and the best part about this bar is if you get too drunk you can just checked into the hotel...
Review Source:If your staying at the Holiday Inn, The Alumni House will deliver food up to your room! Perfect for nights where you just showered and putting makeup on and going downstairs seems like a mission! (or is that just me?) And the during first couple nights, a cute southern boy even came up to deliver! (sweeeet!) But if your not on your companys dime, I probably wouldnt recommend it too often, they charge 18% gratuity and a 2 dollar delivery charge... AND you have to tip the guy! (GEEZE! your carrying it UP the elevator... not accross town!) So my $6 dollar salad turns into $12 bux preety quickly!
Over all the salads were pretty good, the thai shrimp wrap.. meh.., and the blackend chicken southwestern wrap was yummy! I ordered breakfast one time since the Holiday Inn doesnt serve free breakfast.. (WTH!) and it tasted like something I would get from Dennys.. meh...
However, one night I DID venture down to the restaurant, I sat at the bar and the girl working it wasn't the friendliest.. (maybe because i'm a girl? and flirting with the guys gets more tips?) But anyways, 3 dollar draft beers wasnt anything to scoff at ;) I would give more stars if I had friendlier service.... Instead of talking to her friends or to the other guys... give the girl sitting there alone some love!!
