Ambrosia Bistro and Wine Bar

Have been going here for several years and have and have not been disappointed. Service is always excellent.  What is inconsistent is the food. On the most recent visit I had the blue corn shrimp with wasabi sauce and ginger something. The first shrimp was interesting, the sauce was nothing special but the future bites left me with the shrimp coating was bland and the dipping sauce was the only flavor emerging. I did eat 5 out of the 6 but started chipping off the blue corn chip coating and dipping just the shrimp. I also had a cup of chili that was served lukewarm. I had to ask for additional condiments; cheese and onions to make it interesting. I should have asked for Tabasco to make it tasty. I give them three stars only because of the service and the fact that they do keep trying with the food but I'm disappointed again and again.

The mediocre food was overpriced, but at least the service sucked!

Seriously, all six of us had negative things to say about everything we ordered, except me ... my $12 hamburger was pretty good, even though it was served rare, despite my ordering medium.  All of us agreed our server was barely adequate and acted like we were a bother.  

Definitely will not be going back or recommending to friends.

A Delicious Stop in Spokane!

SITREP

Whenever a restaurant received accolades as being one of the Top 10 in it's region, that is something worth taking note of.

THE SETUP

First off, I have to say I am a big big fan of executive chef Mitch Thomas.  He brings a lot of SouthWest flare and infuses it into his own decided Pacific Northwest culinary expressiveness.

THE FOOD

I totally live off just the appetizers.  Prime Rib Sliders.  Crab Claws.  Herb Crusted Lamb Pops.  And the list goes on and on.

And the sandwiches and the entrees are all amazing.  One of my favorite that I've had on a few occasions over the last couple of years is the Tarragon Cranberry Chicken Salad sandwich.  It's a "taste" that I just can't seem to capture anywhere else but here.  And it keeps pulling me back!

REFRESHERS!

And then the wealth of drink & beverage options is astoundingly wonderful.  And again, there always seems to be SOMETHING different, and in this case it's their Bière Rouge, a deliciously spicy red ale!  Can't seem to find THAT anywhere else either!

Oh well!  I guess I'll just have to keep coming back!
