Ate here twice every time camping at close by camps... Â Food is ok. Â Service is terrible... Only one waitress working here (at least 2 times here). Service is extremely slow and food is taken forever. Â If you go at night, bring your own light as it is extremely dimmed and the environment is not worth for its price...
Review Source:Went to this restaurant expecting something good based on the reviews. Our experience was terrible. The food took forever to come out and was the worst seafood I have ever had. Do not order the broiled seafood platter! For $22.99, you get 3 shrimp, 5 tiny scallops and half a fillet of haddock. The seafood was dry and most likely cooked in a microwave. I would have had a better meal had I gotten the fish fillet at McDonald's. Do yourself a favor and save your money. Gross!!!
Review Source:Long time resident of Falmouth and expert in the food service industry tells me that the Anchor and Ale has the best seafood in Falmouth.
Looking at the restaurant from the outside, I thought that I must've misunderstood. It is kind of dumpy looking and I checked to make sure that I had the right place.
Unbelievable, the food is amazing and the service is warm and friendly. Clearly, the owners care nothing about decor. In the 25 years that I've had a home in Falmouth, I have eaten in some really good restaurants that had far better furnishings and looked much more impressive. I do not remember having had a better meal or better service in Falmouth or anywhere else. The mixed seafood and sweet potato fries were simply excellent. With cuisine and service that exceptional, I can live with the dumpy decor. If you go, and you think that you must be at the wrong place, you're there.
Ate here because the place we were planning to eat was closed (a theme for our week even in the middle of May). The food was decent. Not spectacular but not bad and consistent. Very good beer selection. Atmosphere is kind of drab. They had a sign for a buy one get one free entrees but I didn't ask about it because we were literally the only people in the whole place and I felt bad for them. Considering how empty it was I was pleasantly surprised with the food. I'm pretty sure the owner served us.
