This place was pretty darn good....
I had lunch here last week with some friends and family. The place hasn't changed much since I was here last which was close to twenty years ago. They have a bar connected to the restaurant (which is spacious) and they still host acts at night. The steak here is fantastic, it's one of Omaha's better steakhouses. When I ate here the past week I had the prime rib and gouda sandwiches, tasty. A little bit of horseradish and au jus on the side made for a perfect treat. The outside of the restaurant looks a bit awkward as they have a big plastic cow on the roof of it that has been there for the past twenty years.
The night I ate there this place was too warm inside, the kind of physical warmth that you get at Golden Corral to make retirees comfortable. Â There were other similarities...
Very cafeteria style cooking. Â Vegetables were cooked to mush. Â Breads seemed to be brought in from a large factory bakery, but were fresh. Â Meat was okay, but not what I expected in Omaha.
Atmosphere is a well-scrubbed 1977. Â I may have been close to the average age and I am by no means any spring chicken. Â The clientele was decidedly older and the menu reflects those tastes.
In summary, it didn't suck.
