This was a great venue during the College World Series to grab a drink and enjoy some live music. Â The outside bars were a college party atmosphere with the inside bar having craft beer options and lots of TVs to watch the games going on across the street at TD Ameritrade! Â
I highly enjoyed my time at the Slowdown while in town and would recommend it to others looking for a less packed experience than some of the other beer tents in the area around the stadium!
I drove to Omaha to see Mogwai play here. Â The show and sight lines were rad. Â Booming sound, and with Mogwai especially, I needed earplugs (~50 cents). Â Canned beers are super duper cheap; tallboys of High Life or PBR were only a few bucks. Â It's also nice that they have a bunch of board games with which to kill some time if necessary. Â
The venue is small but it has a solid intimacy factor so you really feel like it's an exclusive gig. Â The one thing I hated was the small bathrooms, which become a huge hassle if you're drinking cheap domestic swill. Â They should have put in a second set of bathrooms somewhere. Â However, great venue in what I was told used to be a dangerous, seedy side of downtown. Â I didn't notice anything shady about it, but this place certainly helps, in any event!
