I've been to Applebee's in the past and have enjoyed myself, this was my first trip back in probably 5 years and my first visit to this location.
With such an exciting decor welcoming you in I was looking for a reasonably priced dinner that my fiance and I could have enjoyed. Â We were greeted promptly and directed to a booth. Â Sadly the table was sticky feeling and one of the seats had the crumbly mess of the previous eaters. Â Cleanliness was poor.
Our Waitress came promptly and took our drink order which was nice and we received both our drinks and food in a very timely fashion. Â This is where is went horribly wrong.
My fiance ordered the teriyaki shrimp (minus the shrimp to comply with her veganism) and I ordered the sweet and sour chicken dish. Â When we received the food both dishes looked skimpy in portion and yes I understand the with her removing the shrimp from the plate she was thus removing some of the portion but this isn't our first rodeo and I was shocked at just how light the plate was covered.
My chicked dish was dry (the chicken was basically overdone chicken strips) with a very light covering of sauce. Â I really don't need to go into a great description of just how bad this dish was...it sucked.
And then the bill came, halfway through my entree. Â I can understand getting this treatment at Coney Island but not Applebee's. Â It just seemed rude.
As you can imagine I won't be back
