I haven't been in an Applebees in years, but I had gotten a gift card for Christmas so I figured I'd give it another try. Once again, I found the experience totally unsatisfying. They should be sued for false advertising, as the food looked nothing like the mouth watering picture on the menu? I had ordered blackend steak and penne pasta. I got 5 strips of dog jerky approximately the size of 1/2 of my little finger, and the penne which was supposed to have spinach and tomato had about a teaspoon of spinach and some pepper size flakes of tomato! The breadstick that came with it was also very small and stale. Now for the service. They were very busy and understaffed, so service was also lacking though my server did seem to be trying. People in the next booth also weren't impressed with the food and sent their order back, so she was flustered already. I'm sorry, I feel with so many other choices, Applebees doesn't deserve a second look.
Review Source:AppleBee's certainly isn't anything special. The food is glorified cafeteria food at best and the atmosphere is highly unoriginal. I'll give it a 2/5 because out of the two times I dined there, I received good service. Based on the quality of the food and the raping your wallet receives at the end of the dinner however, I wouldn't recommend AppleBee's to anyone. There are certainly better and cheaper options in town. I might even go as far to say that you can find better tasting food in the frozen goods isle at Walmart, Plumbs, et al.
