Bob Evans was closed for some big remodel, which forced me - due to being extremely hungry - to go down the road to Applebee's Neighborhood Grill & Bar! This was a mistake - should have could have and now would go anywhere but back to this joint.
There were 20 workers and 15 people in for something to eat or drink - you'd think service would be great, but it was far from great!
I ordered the new pretzel appetizer and after waiting way longer then any appetizer should take - I asked the super smart waitress what was taking so long. She grunted and quickly left - only to return to tell us she forgot to put it in and asked if we still would like it.
Not being a good and patient person - I simply said, "No, that's ok - we will just take our food now." A bit longer wait and our food was finally being delivered - though not by our waitress.
The food itself wasn't half bad, but it was only 3.5 star at best. Take a look around and the cleanliness wasn't so good either and please don't look in the restrooms - at first glance everything is ok - but try not to breath!
Value is all over the place though and parking is also not an issue. They accept credit cards and have a full bar - something I should have thought about sitting at before ordering my food - maybe a drink would have chilled me out some - though maybe that's where my waitress was too much!
They do have a large selection of your basic food with some twists, but the lack of being offered seconds on coffee or a refill on my tea and the fact that it takes that many people to screw things up - there's a pretty good change I won't be back!
It's an Applebee's. There's standard food, standard drinks, and standard service. It's good for breaking up the monotony of campus food but not particularly special for a nice dinner. Overall there are probably better choices in the actual towns of Fredonia and Dunkirk, but if you want very unadventurous food you can't go wrong with standard Applebee's.
Review Source:Stopped here for a dinner after a long day on the road. The restaurant is very conveniently located off the interstate & easy to find. The hostess & server were very friendly & prompt. I'd offer that this is a very typical Applebee's which when you're traveling is not a bad thing. Â Food was good & for the price gave you a good meal. I'd recommend it as a place to stop at.
Review Source:food sucks and is substandard in comparison to military grade dog, limited bar selection and shitty decor round it all out. in the words of Reese Bobby "Applebee's has rats, I found a whole rat in my cobb salad!!!!" also the denizens of my humble area like to drag along their troglodite demon hell spawn children, i would avoid at all costs go downtown fredonia and get something good or along the lake.
Review Source:I've never had a problem with this Applebee's - in fact, of the Applebee's I have been to in my life, this one is probably the best.
The waitstaff here has always been extremely friendly when I've gone in - they never seem fake or forced in their interactions with customers; and the food is above-average for a chain restaurant: the portions are decently-priced and decently-sized. The only bad thing I can ever think of regarding a negative element in this restaurant is that it's always pretty packed (but I think that also speaks to it in the positive, right?).
So if you're looking for comfort food that will fill you up in a relaxed, fun atmosphere, and are up for a chain restaurant, this Applebee's won't let you down.
I am a particular fan of their tomato and basil soup and their broccoli fettucine alfredo, too, and with a fairly extensive menu, I'm sure you'll find something you can enjoy.
For the price you pay and the level of service they're supposed to offer, we were severely underwhelmed by this Applebees. Food was as expected except for their inability to provide malt vinegar for the fish and chips. Service was very poor considering we were one of three seated tables.
