  I love Applebee's ... we go to this particular Applebee's every Sunday after getting out of church. We beat the "noon" rush by getting there after church. Love the Chicken Crusted Chicken Salad, it is sooooo yummy.
  
  The management always comes around to each table to greet you and your people. It's so nice knowing that people enjoy the management.
  
  And waitress B.J. is the best! But all the waitresses and waiters are very good.

  My family went to dinner at Applebee's with friends two days ago and had the BEST experience! The staff were super friendly and the food was amazing. As we ordered the waitress even told us how to save money on our food. The were so friendly and outgoing. WE just loved it!

  I'm a  fan of Applebee's but this one in Portsmouth is "meh". I will say that the staff has always been friendly and efficient but the kitchen staff is another story.  The food is sometimes okay but you never know when you''ll receive it.

  "I avoid it like the plague" (just like I should avoid clichés)

  I keep hoping!  I have been to this restaurant on numerous occasions. I keep thinking they will eventually get it right.  Unfortunately, the last visit was an added disappointment.  In the past the food was okay but the service has been sub-par especially the speed of the kitchen.  The last visit the service was superb, yet the food was awful.  The spinach and artichoke appetizer was all right and the beer was very cold and thirst quenching (on a hot, humid night), but the steaks for our meals were not worthy.  We ordered both medium;  one came well-done and the other one raw.  Neither of us finished our meals.
  
  I'm not sure I will return.  How many chances can you give one restaurant  (even though it is located in a very convenient location)?
