The night I went, the service was very good. Food was good too....but on the expensive side for what was served. Sangria was delicious. Ingredients fresh. I was going to bring a pizza home but after seeing the price (big) and the size of the pizza (small) I ended up eating half and taking half to go for my hubby.

I wish there was a way to give negative stars.  One star seems far too generous.  Though this place has gluten free food (which is what brought us here), the service was absolutely terrible!  We got there and there was a wait (no problem).  We were offered a seat at the bench, where five different servers approached us and asked if we wanted to order!  They did not communicate with each other; it was almost as if every single server was doing this job for the very first time.  It was annoying to have to tell each and every server that we were waiting for a table and did not want to order.

When we were finally seated, ordered and the food arrived, the server did not check on us once!  Not even to offer another beverage when my partner's beer was empty.  When the server finally came over, she didn't even ask how the food was, (it was BURNT)!  She did ask if we wanted to take the pizza home.  We had each only had one slice, and planned on asking for another pizza, had she come 30 minutes sooner.  I told her that the gluten free pizza was inedible, dry, hard and burnt.  Her response "oh yeah, the gluten free pizza gets that way.  I will let the chef know."  I looked at her with disbelief and showed her the edges of the meat were curling up and black, and the cheese was dark brown.  CLEARLY bunt!!  At that point she offered no alternative and no apology, but again asked if we wanted it packed up!  My partner got angry, asked her to take the pizza off the bill and bring the check.  We paid for the beer and left hungry and angry.  DO NOT eat here!

The wait staff needs to Arise as in "wake up!". Slow service and high prices negate the positives of generally good, not great food.

This place deserves MINUS 5 stars. Pretentious, snobby, and unwelcoming. We decided to catch a quick bite before going to the Amherst Cinema. While the "specials"  sounded delicious, it was simply a case of bait and switch. Perhaps the owners could close this waste of money down and go work for  Mr. Peterman writing copy.

Down to the food. An overpriced quarter slice of what can only be described as one step below a Big Y frozen pizza.  Tasteless crust, hard, clearly had been sitting under heat lamps for a while. Toppings feggetaboutit!!! Mine came with feta...yes, .25 cubes of something resembling feta, the consistency of a sponge. Queen something or other spinach? Yeah, dried out, tasteless. How do you make a tasteless pizza? I have no idea, but this place has it down to a science.

Ordered a root beer...no, out of stock, settled for a blueberry soda...which was oddly delicious, made in Maine. And that was the ONLY good thing in that place.

Overpriced does not even begin to describe this self named pizzeria . Sorry the place sucks as bad as when it was Tabellas. The owner sits at the bar, ignores customers. They offer a pretty sizable list of wines, and microbrews no one has ever heard of. A waitress who is clueless in trying to describe a beer's flavor..."it tastes hoppy" she says while gathering the menus..yeah AND.????

Oh please, these people need to get out of the restaurant business , they are so freaking elitist and pretentious and socially incompetent to the point that they make you feel like you just walked into someone's home uninvited.

There are plenty of better restaurants in the Amherst/Northampton area. Do yourself a favor and pass this one by...unless of course you love paying outrageous prices for really tasteless, minuscule portions.

Honestly, we felt like we had landed in Portlandia. PUT A BIRD ON IT,,,

Jeez. I just tried to call their phone number and there is no option to speak with a live human being, only to leave a message. How quickly do you want to go out of business?

An improvement over Tabella but still nothing to suggest a return visit.  A party of 6, we ordered 4 different pizzas and the taste of each was weirdly indecipherable from the the other.  The crust was blah and the amount of ingredients on each pizza was stingy.  The $11 caesar salad was overpriced (though tasty) to begin with but the $5 surcharge for anchovies (another puny portion) and croutons made it really annoying.
On the positive side, the tasty house wine, a Tortoise Creek zinfandel, was nicely priced at $22/bottle, the field salad at $7 was exceptionally fresh and delicious, and the atmosphere was pleasant.
We were there on a Saturday night and the place was about 3/4 full.  I think there are a multitude of better choices out there for both quality and value.

This restaurant was opened by the owners of Tabellas in the same space. My guess is people didn't want to pay $24 for a veggie risotto at Tabellas and so the owners realized they needed to devise a less expensive menu, hence Arise. I missed the chickpea fries of Tabellas so I was happy to see they were still on the menu. I had the basic salad, chickpea fries, and zucchini/squash appetizer. The food and service were fine... The fried dishes (chickpea fries and zucchini/squash) were fried pretty dark. Felt the breading on the zucchini/squash was a bit heavy, no finesse. Arise offers specials: $10 for a 1/4 slice of a daily special pizza and a glass of beer or wine or $20 that includes the $10 special as well as dessert and tea or coffee. My friend ordered the $10 special and I was disappointed to see how small the quarter slice was--not asking for huge slices, but don't plan on this being filling as it's a quarter slice of a 9" pizza with a low amount of toppings (think restrained, not heaping amount of toppings).
