Ava's Pizzeria & Wine Bar

Fabulous arugula salad, amazing 'salad of the day' (walnuts, blu cheese, apples etc), very thin, very tasty pizza, great meatballs, lemonade needed sugar, chicken parm a little dry looking (but my 10 year old daughter ate the WHOLE thing) chips - the thinnest and tastiest I ever had and the best, most patient, kind and informed service in St. Michaels to date. Low stress, lots of fun.

My husband and I traveled to Saint Michael's the week of the 4th of July with our dog.  I had researched prior and found that Ava's was dog friendly and even offered dishes off of a doggie menu-sold!

We check into our Bed and Breakfast and then headed  to Ava's for dinner.  My husband, who is of another nationality, went inside to ask for a table while I waited with our dog.  He came out and was told that it would be an HOUR wait.  I did not believe that to be the case since the restaurant did not appear to be busy, so I went in a minute later and  spoke to the same hostess and was told 25 minutes.  

This rating is soley based on the treatment that my husband was given when he went to ask for a table.  There is no excuse as to why the hostess treated him the way she did.  Did she not want our business?

We sat on the nice outdoor patio, service was good, food was good, prices were decent..but the treatment that my husband received will surely not make us go back again.  I resorted to writing this review since I can not locate an e-mail for the restaurant to complain myself.

We loved Avas! We stopped by for a Saturday lunch, and were seated on the patio outside. Our server was fantastic and on the ball the entire time we were there.

We tried the wasabi fried oysters (Good enough, but no zing to them at all), and then got pizzas for lunch. Both pizzas were fantastic and a reasonable value.

My only minor complaint was that they had a lot of flies outside, but they were taking steps to try and deal with it. Just keep it in mind if you ask to be seated outside.
