Harbour Lights

Good food, decent service. But if they mess up your order, don't expect any concessions.

We live in St Michaels and we have suffered and enjoyed our visits to the Harbor Inn's food and beverage for several years. Unfortunately, this is the most inconsistent operations and we are done trying to be loyal patrons. You never know when the deck is open which is why we would, as we have done so often overpay for average food with erratic service to enjoy the beauty of SM harbor.
Today we finally got the 1 bartender/server to allow us to sit on the deck(empty) so we could enjoy a nice late lunch. After no service for 15 minutes, I went into the bar with 1 customer and suggested we would like to order our wine and food. He then informed me as I witnessed the same for a pool patron they would not serve food until 5 pm.
We left went across the harbor to SM Steak & Crab to enyoy what is missing at the Harbor Inn, food and service!
Why an owner would invest to upgrade the hotel and IGNORE it's food and beverage is beyond good business or rational.
This is probably the worst restaurant operation that I ever experienced and they don't seem to care!
It's too bad, but this seems to be consistent with other locals and as much as we have tried we are giving up!

Aside from the meal being fab in every way - preparation, taste, plating & service - the chef was extremely accommodating. We let him know 2 days ahead of time that 3 of us were gluten & dairy free  - he actually  made fresh gf rolls & a great oil dipping sauce!!!  Will go here every time we visit St Michaels :-)
