Carpenter Street Saloon

Definitely a locals Dive Bar, but with that said it was, OK.  Locals were a bit salty.  Service from Katie at the bar was good.  Fish Tacos were good and burger was ok.

Breakfast for 3. Excellent pancakes. EXCELLENT. Gf enjoyed her corned beef hash with poached eggs and English muffin. Friend enjoyed her chesapeake omelet. I'm a little sad to say that this was the best meal of our stay. I love visiting the Eastern Shore, but so many of the restaurants are mediocre.

We stopped in for lunch after visiting St. Michaels Winery and exploring the town a little bit.   We chose it because, honestly, it was the first place we came to while walking, the menu looked OK, and that was enough.    

Inside, the decor goes a little over the top with the faux finishes....the walls are painted to look like brick, the ceilings are painted to look like pressed tin.   They do have some interesting things hanging from the walls and ceilings, and nice dark wood tables, with the one we chose being right in the window with lots of nice natural light.  

Our server didn't waste any time getting to us to take our drink orders, and came back shortly after to take our food orders.  My friend had fish & chips (kind of boring if you ask me, but apparently it's his "go to" meal when he sees it on the menu).   I opted for the corned beef reuben (they also have a turkey version).  He said his food was very good.  The reuben was tasty, but the meat was a bit on the tough side, which made the sandwich hard to eat without looking like a caveperson.   When we were finished, it took a little longer than I'd have liked to get our check, especially considering that we were the only people in the place at the time.   Overall, it was OK, but not anything that I'd say I just have to go back to St. Michaels to experience again.
