Avenue Sports Grill

LOUD!!! That is a warning if you are looking for a decent quiet meal. I know its a sports grill but when I go at 5p on a Wednesday I shouldn't need ear plugs. Besides that the food is awesome. The deep fried jumbo shrimp with the chili pepper dipping sauce makes this place one of my favorites in the Wayne area, a must try. Burgers are ok. Spinach and artichoke dip is good. Wait staff is a little slow but super friendly. They have great specials and good drinks. Prices are very reasonable as well.

When I write reviews I go for what a place wants to be. Not comparing Flemings to Bates.

Met a friend of mine who lives in Wayne here yesterday.  First of all when I hear a "Sports Bar in Wayne" I am not expecting a whole lot.   I am thinking Jakes or the M-12 with some old boozers bellied up to the bar.

This is a really nice "dive/sports bar"   TVs all over the place. The beers were cheap and the food plentiful and very good!!  A good menu too,

Plus last night the place was over half women..with some nice looking woman as well.  I am so used to being in the Plymouth/Northville area where the women are stuffy.    The women of Wayne are friendly and looking for a good time!!  Don`t get me wrong....There were a few chubbies as well.

If you live in the area check this place out.

Not your average Wayne sports bar.  We started coming to the Avenue when friends invited us to Thursday's dollar night.  We went after the kids baseball game.  Yes, this place is okay for families, and typically you will see families there ... at least up until about 9pm.

What's good?  Thursday dollar nights ... dollar menu has plain burgers, fries, grilled cheese, variety of hot dogs ... a family of 4 can eat for less than $25 and that's with mom and dad having a dollar beer or two.  Be warned, additions to the burgers will cost for each item (so if you want a ton of stuff on your burger order the one from the menu), and for $2 you can get larger beers.  We usually have the kids order from the dollar menu, and we usually order off the menu.

For the menu, I can recommend the gigantic burrito with grilled chicken, chicken wraps, nacho's, salads, and burgers.  The fresh made potato chips with their Avenue sauce are really good.  The Avenue Sauce is like a ranch with some heat.  They usually have specials as well, and yesterday I had Grilled Chicken and Veggie Curry on Rice.  It was really good, and the curry was not over powering.  The specials are usually worth checking into, and I find myself ordering more often from here because something always sounds good.

Definitely worth a try.  Downtown Wayne needs more places like this.

For atmosphere, the TV's take center stage.  They are everywhere with a variety of games being shown.  So, you will find something that you wanted to see or maybe couldn't even get to see from home.
