The drinks are pricey but very good. I love the ambiance and decor, and the live music is typically awesome. This is a classy environment....one of the few places where people actually dress up in Kerrville. Most everyone has teeth here, too, which is a rarity for the bars in Kerrville.

My first time at happy hour here was tonight with four friends. Our service was terrible. The bartender was making my Mexican Margarita and then used her bare fingers to fish something out of the drink. She remade the drink before sending it me but then did the very same thing and SENT IT OUT!  I sent it back, telling the server what I saw, and ordered another Bud Light (in the bottle). The server apologized and offered to get the manager. I accepted and while waiting for her to arrive, watched the bartender complain and give us dirty looks. The "manager" (not convinced she really is one) wasn't very professional and snickered and laughed with the bartender. I definitely won't return.

I'm struggling between 2 and 3 stars because the drinks were great but the service was terrible.

    I'll start with the drinks.

I had my first ever Tom Collins and it was wonderful. I had a lemon martini and it was strong but the aftertaste tasted like what I imagine soap tastes like. Finally, I had a blood orange margarita, which was definitely one of the best margaritas I've ever had. I also sampled my friend's "Death in the Afternoon," a mix of some fake absinthe and champagne which is worth trying just because it was invented by Hemingway and how often does anyone drink absinthe?

As far as the service goes, it was horrible.

I'm not a novice drinker. Three drinks in an hour and a half will not get me intoxicated, and even if I was intoxicated, I think it's in poor taste to be rude to the staff - and I wasn't. I smiled at everyone and tried to be polite.Additionally, this is a bar back home and seeing as how there are not many classy establishments to pick from, I wouldn't embarrass myself here. My friends and I were there celebrating a friend's mother's promotion at a business downtown. My friend was feeling generous, and told my friends and I to put our drinks on his tab. So we did. However, the bartender (a blonde named Doug that had to remake our drinks a few times), and a brunette barback that I do not know the name of must have thought we were lying about him saying so. The barback continued to listen in on our conversations, hover over us, and smile condescendingly. At the end of the night, when we're leaving, my friend and I are out the door, and the barback has a CUSTOMER yell at us from the bar to the door to tell us to come pay for our drinks. The reason we didn't pay for our drinks is because someone else was paying for them, and this was established from the very beginning. How professional is it to have a customer do your job for you? Our friend went back in, reiterated to the barback that again, this was his treat, and he gladly paid the difference.

To top it off, the barback and the bartender were down the street at another bar after closing, I guess, and she shot us dirty looks the whole night. I'm sorry she was wrong and decided to take it personally enough to let it bother her the whole night.
