I came on a recommendation and loved it! Obviously, the bruschetta is a must! I just asked for the most popular and got those: a gorgonzola with honey, fig and prosciutto, apple and brie, and a smoked salmon. I really loved all of them, and will come back and try the other ones too! I shared the raspberry chicken salad, which I liked in theory but found the dressing a little too sweet. The chicken was also really dry. My dad, a pastrami-lover, found the pastrami sandwich to be pretty good. The only negative (which is out of its control) is the horrendous parking, but I am willing to deal with that and come back!

LOVE THIS PLACE! THE perfect place to relax, hang out, and talk. very cozy environment and not too loud. my coworkers and i love coming to this place after work to relax. the bruschetta of 4 for $12 is a steal. normally, i would split with friends and have a glass of wine or two. the tuna sandwich was my favorite: crispy and toasted at the right amount. I have to talk about the wine though! $10 for a glass is such a steal. so many great selections you can choose from and they even let you do a small tasting if you are unsure. my favorite is the Riesling, but you can easily share a bottle of $25 or take it out for $20!

Came here at 4:30 pm on a sunday. It was near empty, which is perfect because it's crazy crowded most of the time. This place is awesome. For the bruschetta, you can pick 4 different kinds for $12. We got 1 hummus/avocado/tomato, 1 salami/pesto, 1 mozzarella/tomato/basil, and 1 brie/apple/hazelnuts? All were delicious! We also got a raspberry chicken salad to share, and they brought it out on two different plates. I love it when they do that. But because it looked like they assembled the salad on two separate plates, they packed it full of stuff on each one! Load of chicken, and cheese crumbles, avocado, tomato, etc. The salad was a little too much, but fresh and tasty. We also got a glass of wine each. We had to take half the bruschetta home because it was too much food. Man I could eat like that everyday. The wine made it pricy.. $20 for wine, and $24 for the food. Service was great. Kept an eye on us, but didn't bother us much. Everything was perfect.

This place must make a killing. Very simple menu of simple appetizers, paninis, bruschettas and salads. If you think about it, it's just a lot of bread and produce and simple ingredients whipped together. Their most expensive ingredient is probably smoked salmon. That huge plate of bruschetta... while a deal of $12 for us, probably is only a couple dollars of ingredients. My wine was $8 for a glass, but probably from a $20 bottle. And everyone loves wine and bruschetta, and they do everything well. People must come in here and go to town! For example: A table behind us, two waifish girls had two full plates of bruschetta plus a bottle of wine!

The bruschetta here is a so good! I always get it for my meal so I am not sure how the rest of the food is, but it is worth coming just for that.

REALLY good food. I was told they only use a panini press...no ovens. No other typical restaurant appliance in the house! Anyways...I've been there over a dozen times and the food is so good. Fresh, tasty, and portions are just right. The live jazz adds to the ambiance. It's a great place for lunch, date night, or dinner with friends.
Dressy or casual you will fit in with this place.

Went here with 2 coworkers for lunch. We got a nice table to on the back patio and had the best bruschetta EVER (1 hummus - 1 prosciotto/fig - 1 salami/pesto - 1 apple/brie). So good! We also had the nutella/marshmallow panini for dessert which was delish!

I also got the chicken salad which was not good. I just didn't like the flavor combinations. I won't bother with getting a salad there again.

This place is worth going back to just for the bruschetta! The service was great; parking was a bit of a pain.

I will definitely be back!

I love B Street & Vine. I have had both lunches and dinners there before. I absolutely love their bruschetta options and have also had salads (bbq chicken) and paninis (prosciutto with brie) as well.

Great place to come with a freind to chat over a glass of wine sharing some bruschetta.

MMM. My stomach enjoyed itself here.

I got a "taste" of wine (smaller pour). It was delicious and just enough for dinner.

+ bruschetta - you can pick 4 types for $12-16. We got the herbed artichoke and sundried tomatoes, prosciutto with figs and mascarpone, salami with feta and pesto and don't recall the 4th. All were very good.

+ gobbled up the shrimp ceviche salad

+ rasberry chicken salad was also very good.

I came here earlier this week and let me just say, it's absolutely amazing. I'm a huge fan of bruschetta and paninis and this restaurant ended up being one of my favorite places up in northern California.
Me and my friend go the smoked salmon panini which was nicely toasted (including the smoked salmon) and even though it was large, it was perfect to split between the two of. On top of the panini, we also ordered the bruschetta platter. We ordered the fresh mozzarella with tomato and basil, brie with apples, salami with feta and pesto, and herbed artichoke and sundried tomatoes. I loved all of them but the brie with apples was especially tasty.
I'm originally from southern California so I wish they had a place like this down there. It's so good. I also heard that they sometimes have live performances over in the back part of the restaurant. Even without that though, the vibe inside is really casual and relaxing. Definitely stopping by more often during my stay here in norcal!

"It's pronounced BRUSKETTA," they tell me. Damn it, I'll say it how I want. I came here for a team lunch and unfortunately was not eating meat on this particular day due to my diet. Luckily, I was able to share some bruschettas and a salad with my co-worker who only eats kosher meats, so he is essentially a vegetarian. We had the raspberry chicken salad without the chicken, which was a nice starter to share. We then chose the following 4 creations of bruschetta - gorgonzola and honey, spicy hummus, mango/avocado and mushroom. The gorgonzola and honey was the BEST one by far. I never thought combining the savory, nutty flavor of gorgonzola with nature's sweetness of honey would create such a fabulous party on my tastebuds. Everything else was satisfying, although I was a little disappointed by the mango and avocado bruschetta. I love the partnership of tangy mango with buttery avocado, but it was slightly less than satisfactory potentially due to the way the flavors were combined on the toasted bread. My experience here inspired me to make a few of my own bruschetta masterpieces at home - red pear, gorgonzola and honey; pesto, basil, marinated fresh mozzarella and avocado. I'll have to come back and indulge in the meat options here soon!

Absolutely amazing! The bruschetta was extremely good! The bread wasn't too crispy but wasn't soggy, and the flavor didn't overpower the other ingredients used. My favorite has to be the Smoked Salmon with chives/capers/mascarpone with the Mango/Avacodo coming in at a close second. The herbed artichoke with sundried tomatos was great as well, but the salami with feta and pesto wasn't anything too special. And the portions for the price was pretty generous. Photo here: http://s3-media1.ak.yelp…

The ambiance of the restaurant was pretty awesome, jazz music complementing the very strong wine theme and the staff were very friendly and attentive. Definitely will be returning when I am in the area, and a must try for anyone!

I love this place! We stumbled here once without knowing what it is. We quickly glanced at the menu on the window, we saw Paninis and we were like okay sure. There was a jazz band in there! What? hahaha.

Turns out this place has amazing bruschetta! you can pick 4 toppings for 12 bucks. We thought oh ok, 4 pieces of bread for 12 bucks.. whatever. But NO! Each topping comes with 4 pieces!! it was a total of 16 pieces of YUMMY bruschetta! Oh man the wine selection is also great. I can come here everyday to have bruschetta and wine!

THe only thing i have to say about the place is the layout inside is a bit weird. I think they can totally upscale the place, make it look more trendy and classy. but watever good food is good food. I will be back!

Had their Bruschetta ($12 + $1 for smoked salmon) for dinner (for 2 people)

Ambiance: Great!
Service: Excellent!
Food Quantity: Generous! (We weren't very hungry, but still one bruschetta for 2 people - that's pretty good.)
Food Quality: Delicious! (smoked salmon a bit salty)
Restroom Cleanliness: Clean! (Odd pink lighting, notwithstanding)
Cost: No complaint.

Extra: Free birthday bread pudding! Soooo Gooood!!

Net: A++!

Rude service on a Sunday night. The waiter had a bad attitude while we were ordering. After getting our food he came to the table with the check and said "I need you guys to pay the check right now because we're closing soon." I immediately reached for my credit card as he stood there with a lazy bum stare and repeated himself. It was not even closing time yet.
The wine was good-that's where this place gets the stars. The food was simple, nothing extraordinary.

Simple food with poor service and good wine. I hate when I feel like I should have spent money elsewhere.

Bruschetta is so good here! I've been here twice on a weekend now and never had to wait for a table, but it was pretty full the last time I went on a Saturday around 7pm. The ambiance is really cute; they have a jazz band playing in the evenings and there is also patio seating. Everything is reasonably priced: wine is $10-12 a glass and an order of bruschetta, which comes with 4 different kinds, is $12. You get to choose from a wide selection of toppings. I recommend the prosciutto with figs for sure! The brie with apples, smoked salmon and marscapone, and tomato, mozzarella, and basil were good too! I want to try gorgonzola and honey next. They also have other dishes like paninis for those who aren't crazy about bruschetta. It's a really nice date place, but also good for groups!

I'd forgotten what a gem B Street and Vine is!!

Cute cozy vibe inside with a covered back patio for those who prefer to be outdoors (like me!). Everything here is delicious! Including the sangria. I really wanted to get a whole pitcher but my friend that I was having dinner with wasn't drinking, so I didn't want to seem like a total alcoholic with a whole pitcher to myself. Lol.

Here's a quick breakdown of what we ordered:
- Roasted Red Pepper & Goat Cheese Bruschetta: Deeeeeelicious!! It was the perfect blend. *Note: their bruschetta is pretty well sized so you can easily make that your meal with maybe 2.
- Artichoke & Sun-dried Tomato Bruschetta: This was good too but the artichoke was stacked high so my sun-dried tomatoes kept falling off. I had to hold it on with my fingers while I ate it. Lol.
- Pastrami Panini: YUM!! I was already full after sharing the 2 bruschetta with my friend and my side salad, but the sandwich looked so good that I just had to try it. I ended up only eating half but ate the other half once I got home after a night of drinking. Haha. Perfect balance of ingredients. I'm usually not a fan of Dijon mustard but I actually enjoyed it in this sandwich!
- Side salad (comes with the sandwich): Probably one of the best side salads I've ever had. It had his amazing slightly sweet sesame dressing which was delicious. I wanted to lick my plate. Ha!

My friend also got a veggie panini but I was so busy eating my sandwich I forgot to ask how her's was. Hehehe.

I've been wanting to come here for SO long, and I finally got a chance yesterday, and boy was it worth the wait. Love their wine flights (you can choose up to 5 wines that they offer half glasses of, all for around $5 each - Wellington chardonnay is a popular one, and was my fave as well) and enjoyed the cheese course (4 cheeses with fruit, nuts, and toast for $12) but of course the ultimate star of this experience, and what will bring me back, was the bruschetta. We had the mango & avocado, smoked salmon, prosciutto & fig, and brie, apple, and spicy nuts. All of them were SO good. So full of flavor, and perfect balance of textures and tastes. Hard to say which was my fave since they were all so good, but I think I'm gonna have to go with the prosciutto & fig, though the mango & avocado was the most unique.

This is the perfect place for a date or girls' lunch, and I can't wait to come back!

This is a nice, consistent spot for wine and dinner. I recently went by myself and sat at the bar - on both sides of me were really nice people that were engaging (they talked with me first, I didn't want to be that crazy girl that interrupts dates). The owner, Steve introduced himself and was very engaging and wanted to make sure I had a nice experience. The live music was good but not overwhelming (I'm won over by Tom Petty covers) but 1) he looked like my ex husband so that was distracting and 2) I heard from the couple next to me that he plays the same playlist every weekend.

The place was crowded but people didn't seem to mind waiting for a table.

And the food: I had the bruscetta options and they were all very good. I cannot comment on main courses at this point. I got out of there with 2 glasses of wine and 4 types of bruscetta for under $30.

What better place to come after an early Saturday morning workout then B Street and Vine. I've tried multiple salads (always good and fresh, I've tried the Spinach Salad - added chicken and their Salmon Salad) and bruschetta. Service is exceptional with very friendly service, attentive, and knowledgeable about their menu (including wine). I highly recommend B Street and Vine - located in the heart of downtown San Mateo.

I guess it's been a while since I've written a review; in fact its been so long that Yelp took away my Elite '13 badge! I was surprised I even got one this year. Anyhow...I've been living in Downtown San Mateo for about 9 months now. I feel so spoiled because I'm walking distance from some seriously AMAZING food!!! My taste buds are happy but my waistline and wallet aren't so happy.

B Street & Vine has become my favorite restaurant downtown, hands down. Anytime a friend wants to go to dinner or someone asks me for recommendations I tell them to go here! The portions are HUGE. Two people can share bruschetta and have a salad and be stuffed. A couple of times I went halfsies on a salad and panini in addition to the bruschetta...boy that was a mistake.

Rather than going through the menu I'll just tell you what my favorites are.

I ALWAYS order a glass of proseco. Yep...I'm fancy like that. 3 of us split a bottle once ; wayyy worth it if one glass isn't enough for you.

When it comes to the bruschetta (this is bruschetta on stereoids) you cannot go wrong with the basic tomato & basil. My other three favorites would be the olive tapenade, mushroom with sweet roasted peppers, and prosciutto and figs with marscapone. I ALWAYS order the prosciutto with figs and marscapone and ordinarily I'm not a fan of figs!!! The sweetness of the figs and marscapone balances out the saltiness of all the other flavors you get from the other bruschettas. My least favorite is the mango and avocado. I love both mango and avocado but together the two were just too mushy for me...made the bread soggy.

I've tried a couple of the paninis as well. The Autostrada ((oppresata, prosciutto, salami, mortadella, provolone) is delicious but salty. I wouldn't recommend if you're ordering bruschetta..sandwich is way too heavy. The tri-tip was just okay, kinda dry. I ate half, took the rest home for my sister. Tasted way better after sitting for a couple of hours.

Now these salads are freakin bomb. My FAVORITEEEEEE is the shrimp ceviche!! I cannot NOT order this every time I eat here. The pineapple vinegarette paired with diced cucumbers, red onions, avocado, and shrimp is so refreshing. I've had this served over mixed greens and romaine; I prefer it with romaine.

Oh man...craving some of that prosciutto and marscapone right now. If you haven't tried B Street & Vine...go try it, now!

Food and wine wise I would give this place 4 stars. The service and customer service was crap and screwed me over twice.

It was a large group of us that went for drinks after work. We ordered a variety of bruchetta plates and split those, which were delicious. Had a couple glasses of wine. When the check came we had 3 cards then the rest was cash. I wrote everyone's name with the last 4 digits of the card # with the amount per card on the back of the receipt. It was pretty clear and printed well. One of the cardholders was paying for $150 portion of the check, and the rest was divided. Somehow the $150 got charged to my card, which I was not expecting at all. I went to the waiter and explained the situation, and he seemed very busy and wasn't listening when I was trying to explain what he did. He said he would fix it, then we got the cards back, and he charged the $150 again to my card. We ended up just leaving and figuring out the money situation at the bank. I understand it was busy, but when a large transaction happens like that, and you mistake it twice, pay attention. Won't go back for that one reason.

Such a great spot! Cute, great food, nice ambiance.

I love that you can choose 4 types of bruschetta - really keeps things interesting. I haven't been able to bring myself to order anything other than that besides wine, but judging from the menu, I would probably eat every vegetarian option.

Yum!

Proscuitto with Fig & Marscapone (5/5) - would absolutely get this again. The slight sweetness from the figs and the saltiness of the proscuitto is an excellent mix. Just a note: this and the smoked salmon are a $1 premium (each).

Roasted Pepper with Goat Cheese (4/5) - Simple, but elegant. Will definitely have this again.

Roasted (Sweet?) Pepper Remoulade with Tomato, Feta, and Basil (2/5) - Lots going on here with a variety of components and also a drizzle of sweet, but tangy sauce. Good mix, but it's missing that "wow" factor.

Mushroom, Sweet Pepper, Cooked Onions and Feta (2/5) - Again, many components to this bruschetta and a good idea in theory. However, the execution wasn't the best. Overwhelmingly strong taste of mushrooms and feta cheese, lacking in te contrast of the sweet pepper and caramelized onions.

My default meet up place from now on is B Street & Vine. It's perfect for catching up with friends. An even better plus is that happy hour is from noon to 4, so if you're having a late lunch or early dinner you can score glasses of wine half off.

There's only two things you should be ordering from here and that's the wine and bruschetta. The bruschetta is perfect for sharing (although every time i've gone i've managed to eat a whole order myself). My top 4 bruschettas are the proscuitto with figs and mascarpone, salmon and mascarpone, crushed tomato basil, and mushroom. If you're not into gorgonzola skip the gorgonzola and honey. I usually like a little bit of gorgonzola in my salad, but man on this bruschetta it's just overwhelming! The bruschetta with hummus was also not a favorite of mine, and I would not order that one again.

B Street & Vine is a must if you're in downtown San Mateo!

Came here on a Tuesday night on tip from Stacey. Wasn't too crowded at all and we found seating for two the moment we walked in.

Food: We got the bruschetta + lox panini.

Lox Panini: Smoked salmon was really tasty and comes with a salad. I love anything lox so I liked this. Maybe a teeny bit too salty but I love saltier food so that worked out.

Bruschetta: got the honey, prosciutto, salami and mozarella+basil+tomato ones as part of the pick 4 combos. I recommend all/any of them. I know this is a great place because it's only 3 days later and I'm craving it again already.

Wine: Decently priced.

Service: Top notch. Food and everything came fast and fresh. Water was always refilled.

No complaints!

This place is fantastic. Come here for the bruschetta and wine. The bruschetta (and all of the food) is at top notch quality and the wine is great and super cheap! My girlfriends and I always come and split the 4 different bruschetta's ($12) and a bottle of Chardonnay ($20).

Great service, food seating, good happy hour during the day and they have live (usually Jazz) music a few nights of the week! Great ambiance for a quick bite after work or on the weekend! Also, great location in downtown SM right across the street from the movie theatre. Two thumbs up.

Come here for the bruschetta, some wine and leave happy! I never heard of the place and came here with 12 members of my family to celebrate 3 birthdays. We shared 4 orders of bruschetta and every one I tasted was delicious and executed perfectly. You really can't go wrong with any of the choices.

For the mains I ordered the ceviche salad and was very disappointed. The romaine lettuce was cut large which made it hard to eat and not all of the pieces were very fresh looking. The ceviche over the romaine was tasteless and watery and when paired with the large pieces of romaine, I ended up splashing juice all over the place. Most of the ceviche consisted of onions, cucumbers and tomatoes which left me disappointed with my selection. I thought maybe ordering a panini would have been a better choice but my fiance who got the tuna melt panini was also disappointed. I can't say much for what everyone else ordered except for that two other cousins ordered the spinach salad and one came with too much dressing and the other came with no dressing. They had to swap half their salads with each other to make the salad edible.

Other than that they did well on keeping up with a large group. We were seated in the back with some other large parties and with the heating lamps they thought of everything. There was also a live band but we couldn't hear it sitting in the back. I would come back again if I were in SM but I wish I knew of a place that served amazing bruschetta here in SF.

San Mateo is chock full of Italian Restaurants slinging pasta and pizza like there's no tomorrow, but this place is truly unique in it's take on what's for lunch or dinner. Ever thought of making a meal out of bruschetta? Here you can. And cheaply, too.

You get 4 big bruschetti and each is cut into 4 pieces. You can order 4 different kinds from a good selection of about 8 types or so. Two people can split an order for a light but filling lunch and if it's dinner you can order a salad to split.

They have paninni's, too. If I had to have a complaint it would be that the tables are cramped and the wine list leaves a lot to be desired. But that's easy to overlook. An awesome spot, one of our new go-to's around here.

I do like this place, I really do. Or maybe I liked what it was. I was excited to have some time free to stop in again.

But what do you say when you sit at the bar for almost ten minutes while the bartender faces away from you too engrossed in texting on his phone to even notice you? It's not like they were crowded at 5:25 on a Monday...

What do you say when the bartender does notice you and seems miffed that you're sitting there waiting for a menu, some water, or even an acknowledgement?

If you can't acknowledge me for that long, then you'd better at least look sheepish about it.

(Kudos to the bus boy for noticing the situation and breaking the hypnotic spell of the bartender's iPhone...)

sigh... I remember when this place opened and the proprietors were so excited about their customers, their wine, and their business that they were contagious with their passion. Maybe they would do well to remember those days?

Fail.

I came here the other day with my boyfriend and two of our friends since I had heard such great things about this place. We came on a Saturday around 6pm and we didn't see the crowds that other reviewers had mentioned. I didn't get a good view of the entire restaurant because we got seated right near the front, next to the windows looking out into the street, but from what I could see, the restaurant itself is pretty narrow. The tables were also placed very closely to one another, which was kind of awkward because you could hear the conversations of everyone sitting around you and it made getting up and down pretty difficult as well.

We ordered the bruschetta to share between the four of us and a Panini each, which was perfect since you can choose four toppings for each bruschetta order ($12) and each piece was sliced into four smaller pieces so it is perfect to share between four people.

Bruschetta toppings we ordered:

Smoked Salmon - really amazing salmon. It tasted very fresh and the fish literally melted in your mouth. It went so nicely with the cream cheese and capers. I do not know what kind of cream cheese they used but it was incredibly mild and creamy so it did not detract away from the salmon and the capers provided a great pop of salty flavor that went great with the mildness of the cheese and smokiness of the fish. Even my boyfriend who doesn't like fish could admit that it was pretty good.

Prosciutto, Fig, and Mascarpone - this was probably my favorite out of all four toppings we got. It is the perfect combination of salty, sweet, and creamy. I am a huge fan of mascarpone cheese and the fig went with it so well since it is such a mild, soft cheese. I also love prosciutto, and they slice each piece so thin that it doesn't over power the cheese or fig, but you are still getting the taste of the prosciutto which you need to cut through the richness of the cheese and fig.

Apple, Brie, and Pecan - another amazing combination. It almost reminds me of apple pie because the pecan is spiced with cinnamon or nutmeg that hints to the taste of apple pie. Since the Brie is so mild, it really just ads texture an extra layer of texture to the bruschetta. Goes really well with the crispness of the apple and the crunchy bits of pecan. I only wish that the apples we got on ours were a little more tart or sweet. They were a little bit bland and were overwhelmed by the pecan pieces. I am hoping that we just got a less flavorful apple and it is usually not like this.

Salami, Feta, and Pesto - a good savory bruschetta topping. The salami slices are really thin and the strong taste from the salami really balanced out the feta, which is also a pretty strong cheese. The pesto was more of a nice after taste. I wish there was a little more pesto on this because I love pesto, but overall it is a solid topping and their salami is really delicious. I could eat a whole pack by itself.

Some of the Panini's they offer have very similar fillings as their bruschetta toppings and tasted pretty much the same. I got the smoked salmon Panini (the only extra addition was spinach which complimented the fish and cut through the cream cheese to make the Panini taste really fresh). My friend got the prosciutto, fig and Brie Panini, which tasted exactly like a larger version of the bruschetta. The two guys in our group of the corned beef Panini and the meatball Panini. I did not try the meatball Panini, but their corned beef is seasoned very well. However, they serve it with mustard, mayo, and tomatoes and the mayo and tomatoes really overpowered the corned beef taste. I would recommend taking those out if you get this Panini. None of their Paninis are very oily/buttery, which is great too.

They also serve salads and other entrée dishes too, but I think most people come here for the bruschetta and the Paninis.

The Drinks:
They serve wine here by taste size (half a glass) - $5, glass - $10, and by the bottle which varies depending on which wine you get. I got the Riesling, which was nicely sweet without being overpoweringly sweet like the moscato that my friend got.
The waiters are very knowledgeable about their extensive wine list so if you do not know what to order you can always describe what you like to them and they are very good about recommending a wine that fits your preferences. Each wine also has a brief description of what it tastes like which is very helpful.

They have happy hour every Mon-Fri between 12-4pm where glasses are half off. On Monday's it is also half off wine at all times during the day.

Overall, I am in love with this place. Yes the food is a little bit on the pricier side, but you really cannot find anyplace like this anywhere else in the area. Great ambiance with live jazz playing when we went. My only complaint is that our servers were very slow taking our orders and did not really check to see if we needed anything else. We had to flag someone down to get our check and again for boxes

The bruschettas are amazing.

Prosciutto figs mascarpone - the mascarpone is smooth and very nice. I don't like figs much but the combination here was great. Definitely try it.

Salmon mascarpone - my favorite. I got it without capers because I hate them. The combination is just amazing.

Brie apple - it comes with some crushed pecans with tiny amount of cinnamon. I actually hate cinnamon but again the combination really worked. It's so strange how they can take ingredients I don't like and make them taste great with other ingredients .

Mango avocado - this one was good too but the least favorite out of the four. It comes with some tomatoes. I guess I didn't enjoy it as much as the other three because there was no cheese.

Definitely coming back. Healthy and delicious places like these are hard to come by. May up it to five stars

The ambiance is so cute; located in the heart of downtown San Mateo with live jazz playing in the evenings. If you get here before 6:15, usually the place isn't full yet. If you plan on coming later, I do recommend making reservations, even on weekdays.

Glasses of wine are reasonably priced at around $10-12 per glass for the majority of them. They are served in a small carafes so you have room in your glass for the wine to breathe. Our waitress was good about checking in on us so she always poured the wine for us.

The bruschettas are $12 and you get to pick 4 different toppings. My bf and I ordered two rounds of bruschetta so we tried 8 different kinds. My favorites were the prosciutto with figs and mascarpone, ricotta with dates and pistachio, and brie with apples. If you choose combinations that don't have cheese, be sure to eat those first as they tend to make the bread soggier since there's no cheese to act as a buffer.

This place was amazing. Everything here was an explosion of taste but perfectly balanced all at the same time. I haven't been impressed with a restaurant in awhile so visiting B Street & Vine was so refreshing. We ordered:

Sangria: kind of watery. I would recommend just getting regular wine.

Bruschetta (Fresh mozzarella with tomato and basil, Mango and avocado, Red Pepper Remoulade with tomato, feta and basil and Mushroom, sweet peppers, onions, feta): my favorite was the Mango and avocado - it was like a bruschetta salsa. My boyfriend's favorite was the Red Pepper Remoulade with tomato, feta and basil - more of a delicious, classic take on bruschetta

Roast beef salad: chinese chicken salad minus the chicken plus beef. SO GOOD. One of my favorite salads I've probably ever had. Portions were also large.

Italian sausage panini: also really good. I'd definitely recommend this. Along with basically everything I listed before this.

I would have given it 5 stars but service was absolutely terrible. The restaurant wasn't even busy but we waited for a really long time before we finally flagged down our waiter who seemed annoyed to take out order. He didn't check on us at all during our meal and we had to flag him down again to get our check. I wish it hadn't been there because the food was so good.

I can finally cross B Street and Vine off my to try list!

Let's start with service - very good, our waitress remembered all our orders without having to write a single entree down.We ordered 4 different bruschettas, 3 salads, and 1 panini. Impressive I must say...

The food - really good! There's a lot of different bruschettas offered here. Salami & pesto, roasted tomato & hummus, mango & avocado, and traditional bruschetta. They came out on a paddle and at first I thought, "this is sooooo not enough!", but in the end it was perfect to share. The salads were a very good size and I was stuffed afterwards.

B Street and Vine is very casual, a great place to catch up. They have live music and outdoor seating. Will be coming back :)

Cute place! Perfect place for dinner with the girls! We tried 8 different kinds of bruschetta. My fav were the apples and brie, smoked salmon, priscutto and figs, and spicy hummus. But honestly, all were good and you probably can't go wrong with any of them. Menu is kind of limited for dinner as all the have is panninis, appetizers, and salads along with the bruschetta Also had the shrimp ceviche salad. It was so-so. Not that much shrimp.

My favorite was the dessert! As it is with most places. We shared the nutella and peanut butter pannini with a scoop of vanilla ice cream and the coffee ice cream pie. OMG so goood. If you have a sweet tooth and love chocolate, def get the dessert! The coffee ice cream pie's crust is made of Oreo!

Service lacks here; service is not a selling point for this restaurant. Their strength is their bruschetta and live music.

Would it be possible to train staff to greet customers and look them in the eye? I was there on a Saturday at 5:30pm March 9 with my Mom & sister and our server seemed....unhappy. A female server came to get the drink order for the table seated after us and she completely ignored our attempts at getting her attention (she seemed unhappy too.) Turns out she wasnt our server, a man was. He came to our table 10 mins later to take our drink order. He offered no specials, no intro, barely any eye contact. We ordered drinks and bruschetta. After the bruscetta came we still hadn't ordered dinner and had to call him over. It seemed as tho he'd forgotten about us. Had he checked on us while dining we would have each ordered another drink, but that opp never came. We had to flag him down again to get the check. Overall, inattentive service. Food OK.

I am just gonna say OMG!!!!!!
The best soup I ever had~Tomato Basil~ The Chefs Special~WOW!!!!

My lovely sister, Amanda, took me to B Street & Vine last night. Since I am from the East Bay, I never come down to San Mateo and eat. My sister lives in Foster City so i told her to pick a place and she casually said let's come here. We sat down and looked at the menu....Again she recommend soup and Bruschetta. Sounds good...

I ordered a cup of Tomato Basil Soup and the Bruschetta. You get to pick 4 different kinds of Bruschetta from there list for only $12 (specialty item add $1.) I picked the Honey and Gorgonzola, Tuscan Bean with Sun Dried Tomatoes, Salami, Feta and Pesto, and Prosciutto, Mascarpone, and Fig (specialty item)...

As soon as I tasted the soup my sister chuckled. I had a grin from ear to ear. It was like drinking liquid gold..... She told me that on the weekend they have Cream of Artichoke soup and it is the best thing on the menu ( yes, i am coming back to try on Saturday :) )

When the Bruschetta was placed in front of me all I could think was "WOW"..." Those are huge!!!" I could have easily split them with my sister but she is a Vegetarian and I wanted MEAT :) I took my first bite and OMG..... I moaned so loud that the next table stopped to look. I didn't care....I was having a food hug :) ......this was my moment and nothing could spoil it.... After carefully taking each bite out of my other selections, my sister was still talking to me. Trying to hold a conversation while i am in and out of bliss. I remember fading back into reality and her saying that her and her friends come here all the time. I snapped back and said " you waited this long to take me here!!! They found everything delicious in this world and placed it on a Bruschetta!!!".
HAHAHA... thank goodness my sister loves me :)

We ended are night with the best dessert, Nutella and Marshmallow Panini dusted with Powdered Sugar!!! YUM!!!!

Overall Experience: Amazing!!!!
The bread really makes this place great. I asked the waiter and he told me that they get a fresh delivery from ACME everyday.

Can't wait to come back on Saturday :)

Happy Eating........AE

What can I say about the bruschetta here that hasn't already been said? Yummy and filling, 4 different selections for $12! Most people around me ordered one for just themselves as their main meal, which is a lot of bread. I recommend the mushroom with grilled onions and feta.

Luckily, B Street & Vine also has a good selection of salads (~$10) and paninis (~$8.50) although they do start sounding alike after awhile (aside from the meat of choice). Wine by the glass was cheap and apparently 1/2 off from Mon-Friday 12-4pm. Sipped on a yummy $2 glass of bordeaux with lunch just like every other girl in there.

Atmosphere was chill and even though it was bustling, there was a good amount of space so that you weren't rubbing elbows with the table next to you. Definitely a recommended lunch spot.

I finally had a chance to come check out this wine bar when some awesome lady stole our reservations for a nearby restaurant recently. In my huff and puff, and the restaurant's apology, I was not really down to wait at the restaurant for 40+ min until the party left (since they already started ordering ...)

In comes B Street & Vine. This place is super cute and has a great bar. The bartender doesn't pay much attention and I can't say much for the food, but the bar patrons seem really interesting.

They have a good menu, apparently beers as well, but I opted for a glass of white since we were going for sushi after. I like wine bars like this because they understand how to serve wine. Most people think that if they order a glass of wine, the more the server pours into their glass, the better. I guess in a way yes, you're getting your money's worth in wine. However, this means you can't really enjoy your wine. You can't really swirl, sip, and find delight in the wine. You are kind of just drinking liquor.

B Street serves your one "serving" / glass of wine in a little carafe. You pour at your own leisure, so you can enjoy the wine however you want. I'm a serious swirler ... so this was great!

I can see this place getting crazy during dinner, so come early!
