    Great atmosphere.  Delicious food.

The food is alright, I don't feel it is seasoned very well and the cost of the food is more expensive than I would like for "meh" dining.  I probably would go back again if it was cheaper however, since the food is only ok and it is more expensive than I would like - I will not be going back.

The onion rings tasted good but were a little bready.  The fish tacos were very fresh but over cooked.  The veggie sandwich was excellent.  All our food was just warm not hot. Our server spent more time on her smartphone and less taking care of her tables.  We sat outside and the weather was great.  Note: happy hour is 4 - 6 = lots of good deals on appetizers and beverages.

With my baby sister visiting last week, my Mom wanted to take us to dinner. Usually, that means one of two places: Houston's or Bahama Breeze (her other favorites are take-out specialists Adline's Hot Wings Express and Cozy Corner, a very underrated barbecue restaurant). This time, my mother was in a festive mood for something Caribbean. Obviously, that meant another trip to Bahama Breeze.
When we got there, I was surprised at the number of people who were there on a Tuesday night. Despite that, we were seated immediately after arriving. Once we got to our tables, our server greeted and handed us menus that were very thick. For a Caribbean-themed restaurant, Bahama Breeze has an extensive menu that appeals to almost any taste. Given that this is a chain restaurant that aims for broad appeal, that didn't surprise me. However, me and my family decided to order Caribbean. I almost deviated when I saw that sliders were on the menu, but I eventually chose the West Indies Chicken Curry. After my recent experience with the "Curry Chicken" at City Market, I was curious about how Bahama Breeze's version compared to it.
The entrée had many of the ingredients of the curry that I had a month earlier (including Basmati rice and hummus... errrr, chickpeas). However, unlike the City Market's Indian-styled version that was very spicy due to chili pepper seasoning, the West Indies Chicken Curry goes in another direction. Instead of being spicy, Bahama Breeze's dish focuses on sweetness that comes from its roasted pineapple chutney. It is dominant throughout the curry and overwhelms everything else. The curry definitely has West Indian flair that impressed me. However, I wouldn't advise anyone to get it if they never had curry before. Traditionally, it is a South Asian dish that's meant to be spicy with a lot of cumin and turmeric seasoning. Those spices are barely noticeable in Bahama Breeze's version of it, so a person would be in for a big surprise in getting the "real deal" after experiencing a taste of the islands. As it is, the West Indies Chicken Curry is really good (especially with naan flatbread) and will appeal to most, as long as they are aware of what they're getting.
Both my Mom and sister seemingly enjoyed their dinners. Mom had the Bahamian Seafood Chowder with shellfish and vegetables. While I didn't bother my mother for her thoughts about it, her facial expression conveyed immense pleasure. Although didn't taste my Mom's chowder, I managed to get a sample of my sister's Jamaican Chicken Wings. Marinated with Jerk seasoning, the whole wings were tender and very spicy. Although I wouldn't drive across town to get them (even though my sister traveled from Dallas for it), the wings made a nice impression on me. I might consider ordering them whenever I revisit Bahama Breeze. In the end, it seemed that all of us were satisfied with our meals.
SIDE NOTE: In keeping with my policy of not intruding on dining companions, I didn't take pictures of my family's dinner. In lieu of that, I've posted a photo of Bahama Breeze's Jamaican Chicken Wings from The Daily Fork. Speaking of that, I'm surprised that fellow blogger Kevin of Burn My Mouth hasn't blogged about Jerk-seasoned food. Although I don't think Bahama Breeze's wings will ignite his mouth (although it fired me up), I'm curious about his opinion on Jamaican/West Indian cuisine.
To sum it up, my family and I had another great experience at Bahama Breeze. While it will never be my cup of tea, I don't mind going there if it makes my Mom happy. However, if I were to "settle down" and start my own family, a place like Bahama Breeze could serve well as nice alternative from the norm. With its great atmosphere and good service (although it's Wi-Fi connection is spotty), the restaurant is capable of mass appeal. It's definitely worth checking out.

The food was great, our waitress was a little slow but I'm assuming she was new since she wasn't able to answer a question of mine but the manager was great. We were unable to use a coupon but instead of just telling us no she gave us a gift card to use to pay towards our meal and have us tickets to a Redbirds game! Don't know her name but she works at night with shoulder length hair

The food here, especially the dinners, are plentiful, and tasty.  I ordered the Grilled Jamaican Jerk Chicken, and it was the bomb.  My babesters ordered the Jerk Pasta; one word: Delicious!  This place is worth spending the money on!

They also have live music. :)

Food is terrific but service is awful. Jacob, server, was rude and disconnected. He appeared slovenly and was MIA for the majority of our visit. Our favorite was when Jacob would pretend to not see the attempt to get his attention and then would find a coworker to gab and laugh with at the drink station to the side. When we were leaving I asked to speak with the manager and was surprised when the individual seemed to care as little about our complaint as the server showed cared in doing his job. Again, food is terrific but if the rude actions and indifferent  atmosphere bring your mood down... go somewhere else.

I liked this place. Server was inexperienced and really didn't understand the menu but he was trying to be helpful.  The food was great. Big portions, nicely cooked and a fun menu.  Little touches make all the difference - having my food served on nicely warmed plates made me feel like I was dining at somewhere far more extravagant.

One suggestion - there is a really cool firepit and decked out area where you can sit and listen to the house band whilst you are waiting for your table. Why not have one of the wait staff assigned to taking drinks orders from these people.  I would have happily drunk a couple of beers whilst I was waiting. Multiply this by the five or so couples that were waiting at any one time and I am sure it would be worth the effort.

In general I'm not a fan of chains but this place does it right and I've had some fun times here.  They make some really nice drinks and the food is decent.  Some of the food items aren't all that great, with a few being grossly bland, while others approach greatness.  The drinks generally outshine the food and are among the prettiest and most colorful concoctions I've ever seen while often being a bit too weak on the booze for my palette.  This isn't a place I would hang out all the time but it certainly can be fun on occasion for a little imaginary tropical flavor.

This is a fun place, more about atmosphere than food. Not a place I would regularly go to. Your experience will vary greatly depending on the server you get. I have had fantastic servers, and servers who only visit once during a meal.

Some would say that this is a place you go to for a fun atmosphere with fairly rapid food delivery than a place you go to for the food.

The same four of us met again, pretty much for the same reason. The four of us are now five since the last review.
A lot of the same comments still apply. The food is OK, the beer menu is limited. I ordered chicken curry rice bowl and they brought me a shrimp curry rice bowl. They took it back to change it and the manager offered me a seafood chowder soup while I was waiting, everyone else was eating. I said OK and the soup arrived at the same time as the new rice bowl. I ate the rice bowl first and then tackled the soup. The soup contained chunks of seafood as if they were thawed out and nobody stirred the soup to break up the chunks. The Boy got the special which was supposed to include salmon and some other stuff. We pretty much all remarked that it was the dinkiest piece of salmon we had seen. The waitress agreed, but the manager said, that's what it was.
The boy's first beer was not very cold, but at least the waitress took it away and put it in a chilled glass to make it better.
Again, my pet peeve, while we are still chowing down the main course, and I'm way behind because of the late food and soup, the waitress asks if we want dessert. ARRRGH.
We need to find a better chain restaurant in the area of we're going to keep meeting around there.

Wait staff is very friendly, and wife loved the lobster/shrimp quesadilla. I had the Cuban sandwich. House salad also. Both were awesome.

We had to wait an hour, but I'm so glad we did. We started with coconut shrimp, shared seafood chowder, and shared calypso shrimp linguine. We also had cocktails: tropical thunder and a caipirosca. Everything was DELICIOUS. I can't wait to go back. Seriously. I want to go right now.

We had the Creole Baked Goat Cheese and wow....very well done. The lobster and shrimp quesadilla was good as well as the coconut shrimp. Everyone enjoyed their entrees.   Bar drinks were good, service was good, we had no complaints from our table of 8.

Yes, it is a chain, but they have some pretty decent coconut shrimp.  Food of the gods?  No, but it is good and I order it almost every time I find myself dining here.  I've had their fish tacos as well, but again they don't hold a candle to the coconut shrimp.

This particular location is clean, and the staff is always friendly and the prices are on the mark for what is being served.  I hear wondrous things about the drinks here- and my what I wouldn't give for a fruity beverage right about now. I'll have to return after this baby is born and have a fruity, frothy, blender drink melt down at the bar.  Perhaps you'll see me there.

First let me just say I hate when people give places bad reviews for stupid reasons. I love this restaurant, the coconut shrimp is amazing, and so is the chocolate island. The staff is friendly, and I've never had a problem there.

I used to come here all the time when a former employer had a store in Cordova and our main system was there so it made for a lot of weekend trips.

Bahama Breeze was one of our favorite places when we were there, often spending over $100 on drinks before we were even seated for dinner.

The drinks are fanastic and they had quite a selection.  The food was ok...never felt anything really tickled my tastebuds but we still came back here.  It must have been the drinks.

Loved this place when it first opened and befor i had kids but service and food quality dropped after a few years so I quit coming. Now my kids are much older I decided to come back and try it again. Much to my surprise the food quility was very high and the service was prompt and attentive. The atmosphere was very relaxed and my entire family found different dished that we all could enjoy. A lost jewel and now refound.  One more thing... Hand made margaritas

    Two stars is being generous.

Have you ever eaten a meal and as you are walking out of the resturant ... Your companion turns to you and says 'so what did you think?' and you have no words in you vocabulary that can sum up your feelings on the experiance ... So you shrug and say 'eh' ... Strangely feeling that you are still quite a bit hungry!

Well that about sums up my entire experiance with Bahama Breeze.

And just so ya know... Just by putting fruit on something doesn't make is authentic island food.... Just sayin...

The food is consistently good and reasonably priced. You especially get a lot of bang for your buck with the appetizers. Seafood dishes are great here.

No aruba red beer, its supposed to be their house beer.  Kinda slow service.  Poor attempt at island atmosphere.  Favors weren't bad, presentation and execution of the dishes was poor.  Veggie and fruit prep was terrible, everything looked like it was cut 4 days ago.  We had the fish tacos and the baked goat cheese appetizer.

This is a great restaurant if you want to get your food and DRINK on with friends.  Emphasis on the drinks as they are delicious!

The restaurant intends to take you to a carefree place in a tropical paradise.  Think Miami or some bar on the beach.  And, for a quick minute, I'll admit that I forget that I'm in the country when I'm there.

Try the sangria or the strawberry Mojitos.  The coconut shrimp is great -- the menu boasts a lot of seafood cooked in a rather tropical fashion.

I mostly wanted to say that I was searching for a suggestion card so I could say to burn the place down and build an Applebee's.

I realize I ordered a burger at a caribbean place, but their menu was bootsie. And I thought the burger would have some spice or something. The burger had 0 flavor, and thank god the cheese/bacon was good or I'd have gone completely without eating. I was also worried the neckbeard waiter was going to shed into my diet coke.

I'd rather eat at Arby's. And I'd rather eat fire than eat at Arby's.

I wish i had 4 hands, so i could give that place 4 thumbs down.

I also wish a mountain full of bees had fallen on that place after i left.

I don't get the hype. This place really isn't that good. The food is typically bland or too salty. The service is good. Ambiance feels like I'm at a rip off Caribbean resort. I've been here more than once, and still can't find any reason to like this place. The pasta, the seafood, and the wait just didn't feel like it was worth it.

    No thank you, Bahama Breeze.

My husband and I love this restaurant, especially considering it's a chain.

The service is fast and almost uniformly excellent -- many non-chain restaurants would do well to take some notice, especially on the patio. I often dislike eating on patios because the service tends to suffer. Not so here, the service is great indoors or outdoors.

All of the great service wouldn't matter if the food was terrible. Well, it's great. Sure, there's nothing too authentic or groundbreaking, but what there is is delicious. We tend to start with the Firecracker Shrimp appetizer -- fried shrimp tossed in a spicy red pepper sauce. For those uncertain about heat, it's not too hot...and they'll put it on the side if you ask, letting you determine your heat level.

For my meal, I very often order the Fire Roasted Jerk Shrimp from the appetizer side of the menu, along with a side of their tomato salad. What can I say, I love shrimp! The Jerk Shrimp is very different from the Firecracker -- it's not breaded or fried, rather it's roasted in a spicy thyme/garlic sauce. It comes with a huge loaf of bread that I almost never eat, except for a bit at the end to soak up the sauce. The tomato salad is simply chunked tomatoes tossed with basil, salt, pepper, balsamic vinegar and some olive oil. It's a great complement to the spicy shrimp.

My husband has ordered everything from the Habanero wings to the tilapia platter to tacos, and he raves about all of it. The side salads, too, are excellent and very fresh.

The wine and beer is is adequate, and the specialty cocktails are fun. We've never tried dessert, but that's because we're too full by the time we're finished with everything else. Go here, it's great!

    Tips:
-- This place gets crowded. Reeeaaallllly crowded, especially in the spring/summer when the weather is nice. Don't let that deter you from going, but if you have small children (or temperamental adults) who get fidgety and impatient, you may want to keep that in mind and go at an off-peak meal time.
-- There is very often live music on the patio. It can be fun if you're out with a group, but if you're having dinner with an old friend (or on a date) and want to hear each other, you probably should sit inside.
-- There are some chicken and steak dishes for those that don't enjoy seafood, but the menu is primarily of the sea. My dad hates seafood and loves this place, so it can work out, though.
-- Vegetarians: there is a portobello/veggie wrap on the menu that's divine. There is also an amazing goat cheese appetizer and some cuban bread. The Breeze side salad is veggie, but as I understand it, the black bean soup has ham in it. I've had it confirmed by a few servers, so avoid that.

well my family and i really enjoyed this place. disappointed that we didn't get to sit outside on the patio where the Jamaican live band was playing. maybe next time. my husband ordered the guava glazed ribs and fries and he loved it. said it was delicious and would love to come back for it. i ordered the shrimp and lobster pasta. i hated how expensive it was but when i got it i felt much better  because it's a TON of food. they really load up on the lobsters and shrimp. they're not stingy that's for sure. it was $18+ but that plate fed myself and 3 of my younger kids. totally worth the money. can't wait to try the jamaican shrimp and cocunut shrimp next time. also great atmosphere. wait time wasn't too bad. 20-30 minutes. the beverages looked delicious and so pretty. i was drooling over them everytime someone ordered one. i'm currently pregnant so i can't drink any alcohol but i can't wait to come here w/ my girlfriends for a few drinks once i'm done w/ this pregnancy. waiters were great too. when our waiter disappeared another waiter came over to make sure we had everything we needed. great place to bring family and friends.

Bahama Breeze has been one of my faves since it opened. Yes it's a chain and the wait can be seriously long but the service is good, the food is really quite tasty and the drinks are among my favorites in Cordova. The desserts are also great!

This is a franchise restaurant, so don't expect some quiet or trendy urban restaurant.  Its decor is like any other franchise restaurant, over the top, gaudy, but fitting for the type of restaurant this is.  This is not the place to go if you are wanting a quiet dinner, its loud, and does a fair amount of its business in liquor.  That being said, they have some rather tasty menu choices.  As an appetizer I would recommend the dip made with the goat cheese.  Its served with toasted bread and served in roasted red bell peppers.  The Chicken Santiago is an excellent dish on the more affordable side of the menu, and is served with an excellent sauce and comes with fried yucca which is very good.  For desert the cheesecake is excellent.  If you are looking for an intimate dinner look elsewhere, but for a fun night out with friends this is an excellent destination.  Its generally very crowded, so expect a wait.

I usually eat here when I'm in Memphis for business.  Nice atmosphere, felt comfortable whether eating alone or with a group.  Carribean-themed food is served quickly and always good.  I love their "Simply Grilled"  fresh fish -- the lemon-garlic-herb butter glaze is very good!

Enjoyable theme based restaurant/bar. Do not expect authentic food but there are plenty of tasty dishes on the menu. The salad's have an origional twist, I thuroughly enjoyed a tomato based one. I go here for a good time not a great meal.
