As a guy, the first thing that you'll notice are the mini skirts and scantily clad dressed women. You would be expecting a Hooters type environment but if you look closer, Flying Saucer is so much more.

Around the room, you'll see families, babies, grandparents, couples on dates, and groups of coworkers. This is definitely not your typically sports bar. With well over 100 beers from all over the world and some German influenced items on the menu, it's no surprise that Flying Saucer is for all ages. You can't go wrong with a brat and beer. On top of that, there are plenty of imports on the menu for only $5-7 and a daily $3 pint special.

It's a shame that Flying Saucer only has locations in the south. Flying Saucer ist wunderbar.

Excellent beer selection. Good sandwiches. Friendly staff. Fun atmosphere. I really don't know what else to say. Oh, I know...the smoked salmon sandwich (River Rocket) is delicious! They smoke their salmon in-house! Yum!

I consider myself to be that beer snob when I go to a bar. That one that looks down on Budweiser and tortilla chips and if their version of craft beer is Blue Moon, sorry broski, but I'm out. That's why I was beyond impressed with the Saucer in Cordova. This was my first time coming here and it won't be my last. I've been to World of Beer and Yard House and all of those beer Meccas, but the Saucer tops them all. The waitress (Kelsey) was beyond polite and sat there in a short skirt with a smiling face as I preached about how Yuengling is the best beer and munched on their amazing beer cheese soup. The manager (Matt/Mike?) is a cool guy that upon realizing my love for good beer, came out and chatted me up for 20 mins. (He dropped the hint that they will soon carry Sweetwater...boom.) The beer list is very respectable. It ranges from Chimay (on tap!) to Brooklyn to a new favorite Yazoo. Easily over 30 draughts and 100 bottles. Not to mention the UFO system which tracks what beers you have tried and want to try and gives you a reward system based on quantity of different beers. Pretty much spreading the gospel of expanding your beer horizons. They have great happy hour specials and i came on brewery glass night and acquired a sweet Stella Artois glass. The food was great, the beer was cold, and the good vibes made the place explode. I will be coming back, and please open one in Hawaii!!!
