This is a review of the restaurant which I had heard was remodeled and open to the public so I figured I'd tried out one late afternoon. Its nice and clean but has overheard flourescent lights which is more fitting for an church hall or Elks than a golf club. Hospitals are more warm and invtiting, they need to kill these and get some decent restauarant fixtures.
I had the fish and chips and it was obviously frozen food service stuff but not good food service, Mrs Pauls is a few steps up, plus it was overcooked and dark brown.
Surprisingly they actually close at 5pm so don't plan on dinner here. I asked the grumpy barmaid why they closed so early and she said it was due to slow business. She was fast and effecient but clearly did not want to be there and was very brusque. I could almost read her mind (can't wait until 5 when we can close!).
Well, crummy, low quality food, unhappy help and decor courtesy of Boston Medical Center and its no surprise they have no business.
In their defense, I guess its not a bad spot for a burger and beer after a round of golf. The menu is very reasonable as are the drinks. I would give it another try but don't usually get out of work this early so I wouldn't make it in time.
They need a professional restaurant manager to put some effort in this and it could be a gold mine. Â 2 stars as its fairly new and it is cheap, otherwise a one star,
I played here yesterday with a large group - 16. Â They were ready for us and we tee'd off as scheduled. Â We didn't have to wait at all the whole round. Â The course was in good shape. Â
Clubhouse is large and clean. Â Huge bar inside and a snakc bar window out on the deck. Â Grabbed a hot dog after the first nine - $4.25. Â It was grilled which I prefer and huge so I wasn't complaining. Â We were there for a bachelor party so they set us up with a clambake afterwards. Â Everything was awesome - lobsters, steamers, salad, chowder, potatoes, bbq chicken, cole slaw, corn bread and plenty of wet naps. Â Everything rocked. Â The chef and staff were all very friendly and helpful.
I'd definitely play here again. Â Only complaint is they should get a beer cart girl. Â There was no ranger so this might be a problem on a crowded day with slow play. Â Fortunately we didn't have any problems.
As a business owner, you either love and understand Groupon or you hate them. Quite honestly, either of those is fine with me...just don't be a member of the minuscule 3rd group: those who use Groupon AND hate them.
We had a tee time here late Sunday afternoon and told them while making the tee time that we'd be riding and using a Groupon. We arrived to find no carts left. No big deal, just give us a pull cart and we'll call it even. No can do, they say...all out of pull carts. "Everyone came in with those stupid coupons!" the pro shop man tells me...then offers me a cart if I wait 2 hours to tee off.
We elect to walk, and would have forgotten about everything if the course was nice. Unfortunately for them (and us), the course sucks so we were left with nothing but memories of walking 18 holes in six and a half hours because they let a zillion people on and being made to feel like a nuisance because we had the nerve to give them a try on a Groupon.
If you paid regular green's fees to play this course, call the police because you were robbed.
What a dump. Do yourself a favor and play anywhere else.
