I love this place! The owners are so nice, the food is perfect for breakfast, brunch & lunch. We come here almost every weekend.

NEW LOCATION!!!  421 Bayside Terrace (The Cranberry  Inlet Marina) Seaside.
Parking lot is shared with the marina. There is some street parking as well. They open at 6AM!  Inside &  out side dinning available. The outside dinning has a very nice view. You actually get to dine on the back porch right at the dock of the bay. They still server Breakfast until 5pm, Lunch, Dinner. I ordered the cheese burger on a  fresh hard roll & side of french fries. Ed ordered chicken strips with french fries. food is alright!  Service is friendly but slow moving. I will add they just open this new location 2 weeks ago. I do miss the old location!

We've been coming here for years.  Great location, playground on beach right across the street.  Food is not gourmet, simple but good.  The view is the best part with nice breeze off the bay.  Service is good, nice people!

The food is not bad, however the service is always sooo slow!  The only reason we ever go back is because of the view.

I showed up here expecting a humble yet enjoyable meal. This "cafe" boasts enviable views of the bay, ones that have great potential for a more reputable place. The experience, however, was not. The service was fast and friendly but the food was less than satisfactory. One of my fellow guests ordered the chicken and cheese quesadilla which tasted alright and was quite large but was nothing special. My other fellow guest ordered the veggie burger which was also alright and quite large. As for me, the disappointment of the night: I ordered the bayside salad which, to be blunt, was terrible. It consisted of large pieces of iceberg lettuce, canned mandarin oranges, cranberries, and nothing else except for the repulsive dressing that tasted as if it expired months before, not to mention the hair on my drinking glass. When the place is popping there is a great atmosphere. However, that atmosphere may not be worth the subpar quality of the food.

Like the other reviews said, this is a Jersey diner, so don't expect much for atmosphere. But the food is fantastic. I have had a few hundred pancakes in my day, and the bluebarry pancakes at Bayside are still on top my list. I usually end up ordering more and eating 2 short stacks because I can't leave after just one. Awesome.

We had to sit inside bc it was raining.  I'm guessing outside would have been much more enjoyable.  I had to send my poached eggs back because they were raw.  The next set of eggs were just as bad.  The interior wasn't clean. The staff threw their personal stuff all over the place.  Our waiter seemed very "off".  Not going back.

I will never go back!!! Quality and service have deteriorated to the point that despite it being a block away I will never recommend this place to anyone or go back myself!!! It took over an hour for a simple breakfast order with our server never coming to our table the whole time we waited. Not refilling drinks or letting us know that it might be a bit before our food came out.  The busboy worked at a speed of super slow to clear tables. Their food is not that great that it can make up for the debauchery of their waitstaff. Highly disappointed and I hope no one else has to experience it.

Nice outdoor seating area with view of the bay. Food was excellent (We had French toast and the Fat Bastard entrees for breakfast). Staff could be a little more attentive.

On a beautiful Saturday or Sunday morning, this is the place for breakfast. If you get a table with a view of the bay, it's the best. The breakfast is good and the wait staff is very friendly. Used to go to Sunny Hunny in Seaside Heights, but found this place and I like it better!

The Bayside is a nice little breakfast and lunch place on the Bay side of Lavalette (who'd have figured that out?) They serve good food at reasonable prices. Nothing fancy. Just a good solid stop in Lavallette.

Great location. Service needs to wake up and drink some of the weak coffee b/c they got our order wrong 3 times. Food was nothing special, but not terrible either. Come for the view and keep expectations low and you'll be fine

LOVE the Bayside Cafe! Just a great little eatery with a huge menu. Kid friendly for sure. You're gonna be crammed in, but it's a good crammed!! The menu is diverse. Great breakfast and lunch. Views of the Bay are nice. You can eat outside and when the weather is a bit chilly there is a cover over the porch with heaters...! Friendly family  atmosphere.

Being that this little places is across the street from my house it pleases me to review it for you all. A great place to get pancakes. It's packed on the weekends better get there before 9am, most of the staff is helpful however when they get to busy it's a tad annoying trying to find your waiter to pay. Over all I luv this little joints food but, the service could get better.

I went here this Saturday pretty early. I was with my boyfriend and grandmother, the latter of which has known the owner (the mayor forever). I have to disagree with the reviewer who said "ocean views" because it's the Bayside because it's on the bay side, not the ocean side. It was early and all the tables were open but we asked to sit on the bay side and apparently they are only for parties of five for the breakfast rush. There were still empty tables when we left so it was a bummer.

I ordered one of the egg breakfasts with toast and homefries. My grandmother had pancakes and my boyfriend had the Fat Bastard. The prices were reasonable but the food matched the prices. Nothing was gourmet or above standard breakfast food. It wasn't burned or overcooked and I enjoyed my meal. It was very clean and the waitresses were generally nice. Our's, however, needed some work. She has also been there forever but we put our card down as soon as we got the check. However, she then vanished for twenty minutes. I was the only one who had a little left on my plate and we had to wait for her to come back and get the card, then she disappeared to ring it. We could have sat on the patio and been done quickly without this waitress.

I've never been there for dinner but the prices were pretty high based on the back of the menu.

Bayside is a diner, and you should expect as much.

As far as diners go, it ranks pretty well.  The Bomber sandwich is awesome if you think you have the stomach for it.  Breakfast is where this place shines.

In the dead of winter this small eatery isn't much to look at.  The warm weather this last weekend brought in the crowds for Sunday lunch but it is practically dead during the week.  The view of the Bay is wonderful and that kind of is the thing about the place.  Food is nothing special.
I ordered a patty melt, my first ever, which I think was great.  It's served with a bag of chips that my grandma and I always sneak home in our purses and enjoy in private. Don't know why, just do.
The Bayside Café is owned by the former mayor of Lavallette and he was there this weekend helping seat the crowd and playing owner.  I can honestly say that for small town restaurants, this is actually a keeper.  Just have to lower your expectations to scale with population if you're coming from New York.

Although perhaps not the cleanest or most attractive inside, you simply cannot beat the ocean views from the patio. A popular breakfast, lunch (and maybe dinner?) joint with a solid offering of the classics. Popular all summer long, especially on weekends. Try the Hungry Mans Breakfast if you are really feeling hung over from a long night of partying it up at the surf club.

Bayside is completely staffed by local kids and has a nice relaxed atmosphere. Everything I've tried has been tasty.
