During my visit to the shore we stopped here for lunch. we were seated outside , which was nice since it was a nice day & u get to look out into the beach .
To start we got some frozen drinks & an order of Popcorn Shrimp , Drinks were not bad & the Popcorn shrimp this was pretty good , nice taste best thing was they didn't taste greasy.
For lunch I Had the Grilled chicken sandwich , this was good. My company had the Fried shrimp & fries  this was good as well.
Decent service, nice views of the beach specially if u sit out side & decent prices this place is all right.
I know it is hard to find a good place on the boardwalk, but ICK...
The wait was 15 minutes, and we sat down to a expensive and horrendous meal.
We waited.. and waited.. and waited for our food. We finally got the fresh clam appetizer- the clams were gritty/sandy and tasted WAY too fishy for comfort.. so much for a fresh raw bar..
The fish and chips was up there in price and there was 3 TINY pieces of fried fish on there, literally not enough to even be considered an appetizer. We stared at the dish in disbelief before eating. The fries were cold and soggy... oil soggy and old tasting.
Sushi was okay from what i heard.
And the soda? they must have run out of the flavoring because it tasted more like seltzer than diet coke. and flat. So yes, they messed up soda.
Sorry, i hate writing bad reviews... but not worth the price and your better off getting a slice of pizza on the boardwalk.
The food we ordered and the service absolutely sucked. We had to call the waitress back several times for basic items, and no free refills on soda either. Â The place wasn't busy , so there was no excuse for the service , twice I asked her for the same thing, she ya-ya-ed me , and went to clear a table. The only thing that made this tolerable was the view , it was awesome. But I can get crappy food anywhere, so next trip to the board. I will find some where else to eat.
Review Source:So I wish places DTS (down the shore) were more gluten free friendly. They aren't here. Â All I could really eat was edamame, and sushi. Had a Pina Colada for the first time since trips to mexico with my family, they were really good. Â Sadly no champagne because we really wanted mimosas. Â For 4 drinks and edamame it was only $26 so not to bad.
Review Source:Nice location right on the beach, but the waitress was a bit of a bitch... happy to take our drink order until we informed her we weren't ordering food, at which time she informed us that she was "not a cocktail waitress" and told us to get our drinks at the bar. We later ordered calamari from her and it was pretty much as hands off as service gets, but the calamari was alright.
Review Source:Cool spot to sit out on the back deck, enjoy a few beers, and watch the beachgoers. Â Food looked alright, nothing special. Â We had shrimp cocktail and oysters so I can't judge their cooking. Â Security gets bonus points for allowing us to sneak out the back gate and take a stroll on the beach without paying the "sand tax".
Review Source:Of the Heights boardwalk bar options this is one of the better choices. Â First off it's clean, second they have misters and third they have decently priced beer and food. Â Sure you may have seen this place on the "Jersey Shore" but really it's more. Â They DJ played Motown Philly. Â When was the last time you heard Boyz II Men. Â Well I heard it a week earlier when I played it on Turntable.fm but before that it was probably in the mid-90's. Â The place is spacious and has outdoor seating along the beach and ocean. Â I had a pina colada in a fun plastic hurricane cup, drawback, it was $8, ouch! Â I liked it so much I went back twice. Â It really was a good use of the space. Â I believe it used to have candy and what not there. Â Besides the bar area, they have a raw bar, YUMS! Â They also have plenty of TV's to watch the Yankees dominate.
Tip: Try to avoid if they are filming, they should be wrapping up in a month, thank goodness!
JERSEY SHORE sucks!!!! Not THE Jersey Shore, but the TV show about so-called Guidos and Guidettes living "down the shore" for the summer in Seaside.
I'll explain why I feel that way in a sec, first let me rave about the Beach Bar. While "walking the boards" in Seaside on Sunday afternoon Debbi Faye, Babs and I were thirsty and hungry, and the Beach Bar has long been one of our favorite stops.
It's on the "ocean" side of the boardwalk, so it's built out over the sand right down to the crashing waves. There is a very narrow side deck where you can eat and drink facing north up the beach. Not much better than sitting outside on a warm, not baking, day, enjoying a frosty cocktail or beer, and watching the shenanigans of the beach goers. There are also many tables inside as well with two fully stocked bars.
The drinks are strong and tasty. I had a few "No Shirt, No Shoes, No Problem"s, and was feeling my boardwalk buzz in no time.
The chow is above average for boardwalk fare, We all ended up having one form or another of their delicious Sausage Sandwiches. Mine was a Sausage Parm that was just right.
The Beach Bar is a little more quiet and geared a little more towards being an actual restaurant as opposed to many of the other boardwalk dives up and down the Seaside promenade. It's also a touch more expensive than many of the other joints, but worth every penny. It has never disappointed us. I'm actually not sure if it's open all year but it's definitely open earlier in the "season" than most of the other businesses on the boards. We've been here early in the Spring when we were forced to heed the call of the Atlantic and rush to the shore, or when I've had out of town visitors with a jones for NJ boardwalks, the best in the universe.
Now, as to that other JERSEY SHORE. When they weren't bothering me and my enjoyment of Seaside I had no problem with them. Hell some of my best friends and much of my extended family are Guidos, REAL Guidos. But now too many places are advertising Snooky Subs and Situation Fries or other such entrees. One place even has a Snooky special called Snooky's Fried Pickles. As if that's not bad enough I almost got into a "situation" with a Seaside cop because of them.
The newest member, Deena Cortese, was apparently doing something incredible!!!! She was sitting at a table several feet away from where I was standing and she was being filmed the whole time. Can you imagine how much film is taken of this crew to create an hour show? Anyway a crowd had also gathered to stare at her, sitting at the table with another, unidentified, girl. How could they not while she was exhibiting such enormous talent?!!!! Deena is actually from my humble little adopted village of New Egypt and is probably our most famous resident. The high school here in New Egypt has right about 500 students, total, not just one grade. It's extremely rural, all farms and forests, so you can see how a girl could grow up to be real Guido and all hip hop and all.
So I'm standing there sipping my Lemonade and munching on a Funnel Cake when this Seaside cop starts screaming and yelling at the crowd of Snookyites to move along, and to stop blocking the boardwalk. Nobody was in a hurry to comply with this hysterical cop's orders so he really started screaming and yelling even louder to move NOW!!! He started approaching the crowd and me who had wandered into this having just waited at a nearby counter while my made to order funnel cake was cooking. As the cop approached me I said something in his general direction along the lines of "I ain't moving". He stared me down looking furious, but as the rest of the crowd, of which I was not technically a part, had started to disperse he just stopped and glared at me.
Then he went back to his job of being a lackey for the JS show and making sure that only two dudes who I guess were preselected were allowed to approach Deenas' table and be filmed standing there discussing what? who the hell knows or cares? Well seeing as the show is a monster hit I guess lots of people care. But I hope they find someplace else to film next season. Maybe my Cali friends could use a little excitement. Put them in OB or LaJolla and watch the culture clash.
P.S. to Lorenzo T.: Since you're from North Jersey YOU would be considered a Benny...so why shout Bennys Go Home!?
The greeter was cheerfull when we first walked in. We got a table right away. The server came right over. Our drinks came out on time. The food was hot and fresh. They have one of the best sausage sandwiches on the boards. The onions and peppers were not over cooked and the marinara was tasty. They also had a nice selection of beers. They have a nice area outside that looks out on the ocean. You can have your food served out there if you want.
Review Source:A local spot for sure!
Ride up and lock your cruiser and your good to go.
The outside area gives you a nice ocean breeze while you enjoy a cig and a beer.
Drinks here isn't overpriced and the services is always good.
They have a pizza place inside so you don't have to leave the bar your at to get some munchies. Always a plus!
