Regarding the filtered review (click on "filtered review" link to check it out), I can attest to this reviewer's comments. Â We just moved here in August and had been to Beachside Billiards before and enjoyed ourselves shooting pool and having a couple of cold ones. Â Tonight we decided to go back and shoot pool, our second visit since we first went there a couple of months ago. Â As the reviewer in the filtered review said, the jukebox song selection was pretty inappropriate. Â We got a pitcher of Rolling Rock and some billiard balls and grabbed a table. Â By the end of our first game of eight ball, the same "Ni***r" song described by the other reviewer came on, and then all these people started singing along. Â Then we decided to leave and as we were paying at the bar, the second song came on by the same country singer and the bartender, was like, "so soon?" and sincerely didn't make the connection. Â I guess a white couple leaving because they felt uncomfortable due to the racist lyrics of two consecutive songs did not even strike her as a possibility. Â Nonetheless, after paying and getting the heck out of there and decompressing, we came home and did some searching on the internet, and it was pretty easy to find. Â It turns out this "artist" is something like the most famous racist country singer ever, Johnny Rebel, and we can't un-hear it and that makes us sad. Â :-( Â However, if you are a racist, love cheap Rolling Rock, and love to shoot pool by the beach, this is the place for you.
Review Source:It's a pool hall! It's smoky as hell, and you're guaranteed to hear some Skynard from the jukebox. But the prices are affordable (8 bucks an hour/table, I think), the tables are in great shape and the pitchers are cheap and cold. They also serve typical bar food, which seems decent by the look of it. I've spent many a happy evening here, and would definitely go back.
