Beal Street Bottle Club

I went to Beal Street bottle club three months ago. It's a small place that gets packed out. It is BYOB which at first I thought sounded ghetto, however I was wrong. They offered to place my bottle of wine on ice. Everyone was very professional and friendly at the bar.

The night I was there I was very impressed by many of the poets. Some were funny, charimatic, and even straight up rauncey. The music was my favorite. They had so many wonderful singers. I feel Fort Walton really needs a place like this that promotes
music and poetry. It is a wonderful place for talented people to come and perform.

The night I went, I saw people that were black, white, Puerto Rican, and Asian. I think it is wonderful that this place can bring a variety of people together. Yes, the crowd was more urban, which I found very refreshing considering across the bridge in Destin is more of a Jimmy Buffett crowd that would not know real music if it did not come with a Yeager Bomb and some sweet Alabama tunes.

Before I left I said goodbye to one of the owners. I found her to be super friendly and inviting. I appreciate the creative expression this place offers.
