The Block is one of the largest bars in Fort Walton, and I drive by it everyday and didn't know it existed. Â Until one fateful day when there were whispers of midget wrestling. Â I immediately hunted down the location and it turned out to be The Block.
Crowds, midgets, wrestling. Â A better combination could not have been found. Â $15 cover, worth every damn penny. Â I have been fascinated by midgets ever since seeing one that worked at Walmart. Â But at the time, I thought it would be impolite to stare and had to force myself to avert my eyes and pretend like everything was normal when every cell in my body screamed to stare at the midget!!!! Â And of course I didn't want other people to know that I've never seen a midget before. Â But damnit I have never seen a midget before. Â
Thankfully, all that midget craving was adequately satiated at The Block. Â I even got to be a ring girl and it was a ton of fun. Â After the wrestling, they played music and people danced. Â Interestingly, the club became racially segregated with all black people in the hip hop room (music not as loud), and all white people in the larger, country music (good volume music), synchronized dancing room. Â I had no idea there were so many songs that you can synchronize dance to (ex. that wobble wobble song)! Â Who has all that free time to learn the steps? Â Apparently, the local people here do. Â I'm not much of a synchronized dancer so I left. Â But thank you so much for bringing us the midgets and a night to remember.
