Went with a party of twelve the other night at the suggestion of a friend. We were seated at a covered pool table on plastic, outside stackable chairs. I get it, it's a casual sports bar but I felt like a child sitting at the grown up table. Service was courteous but slow. Food was unmemorable. I had the Ty Cobb salad, fresh and tasty but not a standout. Hubby had a burger. Again tasted fine just nothing above average. Probably a great place to have a beer and watch a game but not worth a trip for a meal.

Stopped in on a Friday evening for some grub on our way into town.  Found it on Yelp and so glad I can trust all the rest of my Yelp Compadres..... this place is damn good.

Me and my baby both had "burger" varieties.  I had the Patty Melt and it was damn good.  She partook of the Mushroom Burger and dang, ate the whole thing !  That tells you she liked it , a lot !

Great atmosphere inside, love the golf bags and other scenery.  Definitely worth the stop and I will be back again !!!

Good beer selection, but their prices are very high. The food was okay, but on par with fast food, and twice as much. The service is VERY lacking.

I have been visiting the desert for more than 10 years now, always passing by the Beer Hunter... this trip we finally stopped there because we heard they have a patio where we could bring our dog. I was really impressed with the food and the service. There were five people in my party and everyone really enjoyed their food. The service was awesome, with our waitress stopping by our table several times to check on us and refill drinks. I'm used to being forgotten whenever I sit outdoors, but not at this place. I recommend the nachos!

It was a busy holiday weekend so most restaurants were booked solid.  We figured a sports grill was a good option to have a shot at a table.  It was busy but we were sat right away.

The place is large.  They also have a good sized outdoor seating area.  It has the field of an old school sports grill.  There are a ton of televisions playing various games.  It is also set up to handle several large groups easily.

The menu has all the sports grill options you want.  I ordered a half order of the steak nachos.  Trust me, a half order is plenty for one or even two people.   You get a nice amount of cheese and they actually go through the trouble to spread it through the layers of chips.  You also get a good amount of steak pieces.

Great service and very friendly staff.  Food is excellent, especially their sandwiches (Hat Trick is the best) and soups.  If you are on Facebook, find them and like their page because they'll show good lunch, dinner, and drink deals.

    Food poisoned!!!
I went here on my birthday and unfortunately received The worst food poisoning I've ever had my life. We called the manager and they simply said sorry and that was it.
Horrible. I repeat do not go there. Unless you want food poisoning with no refund

On the way back from the La Quinta Resort and my friend and I decided to hit this place up whilst we were in the neighborhood. It is pretty dark in this joint, but there are more tvs here than frickin' Circuit City (wait, they got the axe body spray)...I mean Best Buy, yeah! Well, there's a grip of tvs all over playin' a whole buncha sports. People are drinking, some are eating, some will win, some may lose; some of 'em just sing the blues.

Seating is focused on a squareish sort of floor design w/ an upper and lower level. The lower level is for bigger parties. Theres also bar type seating/booths as well.

I ordered the San Diego Cajun chicken sandwich and it was actually better than what I would expect from an establishment called The Beer Hunter. The chicken breast was huge, juicy, and grilled rather well. The potato bun it was on was soft and fresh. The herbed mayo in the sandwich was actually very tasty as well. The sandwich came w/ fries and a small portion of cole slaw. I didn't touch the fries (by personal choice, not because they looked displeasing), but the cole slaw was fairly decent w/ a slight sweetish flavor. Prices seemed pretty reasonable.

When we were on our way out (I'm sorry, I have to note this 'cause it made me lol) we made a pit stop to the bathroom. I noticed below the urinals there was a huge metal grating in the floor. Why? I'm pretty sure it's there so that when drunks stumble their way into the men's room and let the hose loose to water the flowers the nice floor won't be in the crossfire.

Anyways, I was actually quite pleased w/ this place and would definitely say it's a great hangout spot to grab a bite and a beer and watch the game, however I don't live very close so I don't think I'd be making a special trip out here for it.

Went in here a couple times when I lived in La Quinta.  Its nothing special.  Really it seems like they are trying to hard to be "cool" with a manufactured "experience".

It was kinda lame in there. We played some pool, but as soon as we walked in, it seemed like the regulars didn't like that we were coming in to their bar/hangout. Seems like an ok place to catch a game or UFC event. It was a little dated in there too. Just felt dirty and old. Hope I dont have to go there again.

This place is a big ol' turd in my book.

Smells like the floor has been washed with beer, and it had a very uncomfortable dingy vibe for the location.  The prices were over inflated and for some reason there was no volume on in the place when I went...not even one of the 50 TV's were playing the volume.  Listening to 100 people talking BS sounds like a great fun enviroment to enjoy the game at doesn't it?

Go elsewhere and save your money!

A friend and I stopped in exhausted after a long event night for a burger, a beer and their patio late into the night.

The server didn't have anuone else outside but, seeing that's where we wanted to be, walked us out there and never forgot us :)

Had some burgers some ranchup and some beer. Nice night.

I've been going to the Beer Hunter for a few years now and have enjoyed it because it's a great sports bar where it's not weird to take the whole family, fun atmosphere and good wait staff.

But holy heaven on a tortilla strip, this place is now a must-stop anytime I'm in the desert after trying their nachos. I'm taking massive, piled on goodness of gooey white cheese (yes, white melty goodness), guac, sour cream, beans, tomato - the whole sha-bang. I'm talking 3 a.m. drunk "I've never tasted anything so good" good.

Beyond those amazing nachos, the food is just meh. But who cares? Order the nachos, settle in for the game and order one many beers on tap. You'll be happy you did.

This was practically my home for the past 3 years. The nachos are one of the things I miss the most about the desert! Tip: try the triple meat nachos if you're REALLY hungry.

TIP: If you're a frequent visitor, MAKE SURE to sign up for the free MVP club-- for every $100 you spend, they give you a $5 gift card! :)

Stumbled upon the Beer Hunter -- Ok, that's not entirely truthful - i was out in the desert for vacation, and my hometown Patriots were playing on Sunday, and i was looking for a great place to watch the game - Beer Hunter was an obvious pick after reading through the reviews.

Walking through the doors, i knew immediately that i would not be disappointed.  Never have i seen so many televisions in one space.  There are so many TVs in this place, I honestly don't believe it's possible to orient your head in a way that you do not have at least 3 screens visible at any given point.

I was asked what game i was looking for, and directed to sit in a specific section.  Let me go through that again - they figure out the best place for you to view a particular game!  Despite the fact that you can see every game from every seat in there, it's a nice touch that shows how serious they are about their sports viewing.

A ton of beers (if your name is Beer Hunter, that's expected) - prices very reasonable, and service seemed solid.  But without a doubt the reason you come here is to watch a game.  Or every game.

I did a little recon before my trip to Indian Wells. This place was on my hit list of spots to assassinate. Let me tell you it did not disappoint. The parking lot is spacious with parking spots. Shortly after we parked we could hear people engaged in laughter in an outdoor patio area. We never made it there, but I can assure you that there is an outdoor drinking and smoking area.

Walked inside and there's sports memorabilia everywhere. It's a true sports bar. They have flatscreens and old tv's everywhere. Playing just about every sports game imaginable. We purchased a pitcher of Stella beer. Midway through the pitcher we ran into my buddy that was getting married. Random.

We finished our beer and exited quickly. I could have stayed here and been good. There was plenty of pool tables and other games for guests. Cool spot.

    This place is awesome.

We stopped by on our way home from Palm Springs and grabbed some lunch. The bar itself is a great sports bar. Plenty of TVs, good sound, tons of games, and nice waitresses.

Every item we ordered was awesome, but I'll focus on the nachos. They use a combination of chedder and "jalapeño" cheese and let me tell you it is gee double oh dee GOOD.

One of the people in my party claimed the nachos were the "best nachos I have ever had."

Anyway, if I lived near Beer Hunter it would be my Sports Bar of choice for sure. Also, given that it is located in an area that is 90% really, really old people, it usually isn't that crowded!

I don't live in or around La Quinta CA, so I can't say, "best sports bar in the area" or anything because honestly I have no comparison. However, I can say that this is a cool spot to watch the game: televisions (and Lakers fans) everywhere. Awesome!

Food: decent. Sampled the Pizza (good), Chili (nah), Cajun Chicken Sandwich (good), Fries (meh), Cole Slaw (good). It's hit or miss...but none of it was really bad: some was a'ight; some was downright tasty.

Beer: wow, what a selection! They have like 99 brands of beer on draft (99 brands of beer, you take one down...uh, nevermind) or something ridiculous. I couldn't count; I was busy watching the game. But if I was a local, I might make it a goal to eventually try every one. Luckily, I'm not a local.

Overall, I'd go back. Solid place to watch a game and hang out with some fellow Lakers fans.

I made the mistake of coming here to grab a drink after having dinner at LG's steakhouse across the street.  Let's just say I was sorely overdressed.

The place is C-A-S-U-A-L like jeans and cowboy boots kind of casual.  The drinks are also cheap.  I think three beers was like $18.

There are lots of TVs for watching sports, pool tables ($1/game), Foozball ($1/game) and something like shuffleboard (FREE FREE!) which captured our attention for a disturbingly long amount of time.

I was in La Quinta recently because I live here. I also drive by the Beer Hunter no less than 10 times per week since it is on the main arterial road that leads pretty much everywhere I go. Given this frequency of passing, you would think I'd be in here daily - not so much. Let me explain....

First, this place has so many types of beer that you won't come close to trying them all unless you are making it some long term goal. It's been done - I've seen a list of the lushes - but that's not my gig though. I do go here religiously to watch my beloved Montana Grizzlies whoop azzz during football season with my rousting Montana alums. That scores well for the place because they make a big effort to get the sat feeds for every game.

The food is pretty darned good too - well above your average sports bar grub. I usually eat the low carb plate with a burger patty, cottage cheese, and fresh fruit... it's always good portions and fresh tasting.

The bar is pretty good sized with TVs everywhere (some a little dated) and more sports memorabilia than you'll absorb. The crowd can get very riotous, in a good way - you are in a sports bar after all! I particularly enjoy the UFC fights - pony up $10.00 and you are as good as at the fight.

If you've got kids it's a good place to take them as well.  With a number of games (basketball, shuffleboard, billiards, foosball) to entertain the hyper little ones expect to go through at least a couple rolls of quarters.  I suggest going early with the kiddies though, put them to bed if you want to go there after about 8 pm.

Lots of celebrities go here too. While I've never seen or drank shots with Paris Hilton at the Hunter, I won't say the same for Anthony Kim.   He drinks as good as he golfs - impressive indeed.

Overall, a good spot to tip a few coldies after a round of golf with your pals or take a cool girl there. You'll know is she is a keeper if she can hang with you at the Hunter.

A fun sports bar with a huge variety of beer and tasty food. It's a typical sports bar setting with good service. It is especially fun during hockey games with a large boisterous and loud Canuck turnout. They also show UFC fights with a $10 cover charge. My only complaint is that the old tube TVs need to be replaced by modern HD flat screens.

    Exc - None
Good - Atmosphere, sports fan support
    Ave - Service, food
    Poor - None

This is your typical sports bar. The TVs are high quality and the seating arrangement is fun. There is a sunken section of the restaurant in the middle restaurant with TVs surrounding it. The decor is very sporty with random college and local sports flags and banners hanging.

As for entertainment, there are a few pool tables and a pop-a-shot basketball game. there is also a hunting video game which is appropriate for the bar's name.

The food is decent, I got the french dip which is called the French Open on the menu. Where this place loses stars is the drink specials. There are none. While they have a ton of beers on tap, they are pricey for the caliber of place. Otherwise, this would have been a five star! Service was great!

I found this quietly tucked place VIA Yelp's iphone application. The place was definitely not ghetto in anyway. There were about 20 people in there, the place was huge. they have a lot of different kinds of bottled beer. i wasn't in a beer drinking mood so i had my usual capt n coke. Stiff cocktail.

Pool tables, and a little arcade section. they have a late night menu with good sized portions. we ordered the tequila chicken? the waiter said it was chicken marinated overnight in tequila. it had great flavor, of course not the flavor you'd get at an authentic Mexican place. but it was sufficient for my drunk ass.

the crowd was whatever. Mainly golfer kinda guys a couple girls, and one really really annoying guy with a purple button up that looked like it was about to rip if the wrong move was made. the music kinda sucked although it is a juke box playing your music. There are tons of TVs so my hypothesis would be this is a great place to watch any kinda sporting event.

id go back if i was in the area.

Nothing beats a well designed sports bar. This place has a pit big enough for two pool/billiard tables dead center with TV's in it for the pool players., and screens over the pit much like a sports arena has the scoreboard over the court or ice, and then a couple tv's around for people not facing that direction.
A long long bar runs the length of the wall, turns a corner and continues along.
Big Buck Hunter Safari and a couple other games on your way in or out.

The menu is sports bar food. Friedness, quesadillas, nachos etc, plus burgers of varying sorts, chicken sandwiches, french dip, pasta, ribs, chicken things of that sort.
Nothing fancy, but the quesadilla was decent, and the patty melt was excellent, one of the better I've had.
Fries were good, not great. Arnold Palmer was good, staff was nice and accomodating.
    Would I return? Yes.
Oh yeah, and they have a large beer list, lots of your standards, and some of your less available standards, like the lindeman's lambics, but I didn't notice anything groundbreaking. Anyway, good spot for lunch/dinner and a couple brews.

    Holy Beers Batman!

So for about 4 years in a row now my friends and I have seen this bar on the way in and out of Coachella. The have the sweetest logo you've ever seen - a beer mug with antlers! Over time I have built up this image that the inside of Beer Hunter must be a really cool, dive bar. I was wrong! The inside of Beer Hunter is like walking into Dave and Busters mixed with Chuck-E-Cheese with a touch of ESPN Zone. This place is a sports bar. Not that there is anything wrong with that. I love sports and a good sports bar. Just not what I was expecting. There are more TV's than a Best Buy, with every sport imaginable. Tons of games to play... pool tables, darts, shuffleboard, fusbol, basketball hoops. It's kinda crazy actually.

So after getting over the holy shit factor, we sat down at a booth and looked over the beer menu. The holy shit factor was back in full effect. This place has more beer options than I have possibly ever seen! Their bottled beer selection had to be near 100. They had about 25 beers or so on tap. I love beer and trying to new beers. I went for the Lost Coast Great White. I am a new fan of the Great White (not so much the band, but the beer).  We ordered the nachos. They were typical bar food and piled high, but pretty scrumptious. They filled the hunger void.

If you are looking for a place to watch a game or just a place to broaden beer horizons, Beer Hunter is worth checkin' out.

Was in th La Quinta area for some golf and needed a local watering hole to have a few drinks and get some food.  I randomly happened across The Beer Hunter and was very impressed.

Katie was my server.  She welcomed me to the bar, asked my name and introduced herself.  Great start.  Too bad more service doesn't take this example.

I ordered a Pacifico, but could have had one of about 30 or 40 different beers on tap and in bottles.  Lots to choose from.

I ordered the San Diego Cajun Chicken Sandwich with a side salad instead of fries.  The chicken was huge and barely fit on the bun.  The bun was very fresh and tasty - an egg kaiser roll.  Yum!  The chicken not only had a great cajun spice on it, but also had jalapeno pepper-jack cheese.  Overall tasty and filling.

Ordered a second beer and watched a college hoops game.  Closed my tab for about $20.

Great value, friendly service and an awesome atmosphere.  My only complaint was the group of ladies who was playing fooseball.  Man were they annoying!

Ask for Katie.  Not only a great server, but a real cutie too!

Great sports bar, good beer selection. They're willing to put on any game they can find (college hockey, anyone?) and put you at a table where you can see multiple other games as well. The food is pretty heavy, including the nachos, but good for bar food.

The beer list is good and west-coast/Cali heavy but mostly bottles. Wish they had a little more variety/specials on tap but they don't seem to rotate many through. Fast service for both food and beer the few times I've been.

HOORAY FOR BEER! This place has lots of it and this saying is more applicable here than for Red Stripe.

Hundreds of beers, maybe 30 yummy standards on tap, so yummy.

The whole place is in a raised square set up around sunken billards tables so it's good people watching too!

When I'm in La Quinta and I feel like putting on clothes, I'll hit up here.

Yeah.  5 billion types of beers, give or take a couple.  Dark inside because their ain't any windows (was this a former strip club?), slightly worn down, and tons of TVs showing sports of all types.

Throw in a couple poles and dancers and you've got a 5 star establishment.

A very decent "local" in the southern Palm Springs/Coachella valley area.  Many, many varieties of beer to choose from- but its a predictable bunch with a few exceptions.  Menu is standard bar fare- but the nachos we had kicked serious butt.

The table service in the bar area was decent enough but a little hit or miss in terms of attentiveness.  I would come back here.

Pretty much the only good reason to go to La Quinta these days. Unless you're going home for the holidays or enjoy children's soccer.

They have a lot of TVs and all the right sports packages, plus some pretty good bar food. I live in Santa Barbara now, and nothing here holds a candle.

There's a few too many annoying USC fans on hand every Saturday, but it doesn't take very many to make that true.

Not a giant fan of the grub per se but it's good enough to satiate my lunchtime needs.

Great place...let me reiterate that...GREAT place to watch a sporting event seeing as there are televisions all over the place and the restaurant is clad in every time of sport paraphernalia!!

GIANT beer selection...which makes me a big fan. I mean...fries, beer, football?  What more can a gal ask for?

Kind of dark inside and a tad loud so not the place to take your grandparents if they are hard of hearing or of sight!!

The Beer Hunter offers has an impressive selection of beer on tap and a huge array of bottled domestics and imports. At it's roots, BH is a sports bar with lots of tv screens showing the latest golf tourney or golf event.  Locals and out-of-towners fill this place alike.

It is usually pretty busy during the winter season, with the numerous golf events in La Quinta and surrounding courses. If you're a golf star stalker, John Daly is know to get his drink on there.

Every time I'm in PD I gotta stop by the Beer Hunter for a brewski! It's so ghetto you have to love it! The food is average for bar fare, the crowd is fun. Lots of golf polos but what do you expect in golf town?

    Fun sports bar!
