Great place to go when you're tired of sitting in traffic and need a stiff drink. The drinks were strong, just like I like them. I didn't have a lot of time so i ordered the quickest item I could think of off the menu, which happened to be the clam chowder. It was the best soup I've tasted in a while (and they had oyster crackers- a plus in my book). At about 3:30 in afternoon on a Friday I happened to be the only female in the place besides the bartender and I wasn't at all comfortable. If fact the guys found a way to include me in the convo. Very friendly place. Any time I need a stiff drink and a place to watch the game i'll be stopping by.

This is your typical little neighborhood bar where everyone knows each other and the bartender is friends with all the regulars.

Drink prices are inexpensive.Service is good.

This bar reminds me of the one's in the movies where two guys go after some horrible event happens to one of them and the sob and drink their problems away in some dark, low key and depressing dive bar.

Not really my taste, but I'm sure plenty others do appreciate it.

WOW !!! After reading all the glowing reviews on this place my review is going to be a let down ! The place seemed like your avg. neighborhood bar and we had heard the rep. of past days. I ordered a Tex-Mex burger ( almost 9 bucks) and a Jack & Coke (6.50 - high for a small drink)  which said it included cheese and avocado... had to ask for the cheese and the avocado was a nasty sour green sauce that was found in the kitchen. My buddy ordered the pork chops ( 2 ) breakfast which turned out to be a small pork chop (1)  breakfast ( $12.95 ) anything fried tasted of old oil ... all in all .... Not a great deal at all !!! The waitress/bartender
seemed nice but even that seemed to cool down when we started to complain about the food . I dont know if there's a new owner or what , but they better get a clue if this place has any chance of making it.

I had a birthday dinner/party at Bergie's and the staff was top notch and accomodated me guests with excellent care.  They helped me decorate and set up the tables for 15 people.  The food was excellent (prime rib night), the service was excellent and all of my guests had a great time.  It doesn't look like much from the outside but the food is great.  I have never had anything on the menu that wasn't delicious.  The prices are extremely reasonable and the bar and bartenders make great drinks.  It's my favorite place now for a good steak or prime rib dinner.  It's not fancy but it is a 5 star resturant/bar in my opinion.  We will be going here weekly.

Came in with a coupon and got the patty melt.  One of the best I ever had.  Perfectly cooked and really good rye bread.  The service was good and attentive.  I have come here for years but my recent experience was especially good.  When they say they have the best burgers, they are not just saying that for show.

We've eaten here a few more times since my original review.  I love the breakfast burrito( only on weekends).  Its huge and filled with eggs,(meat of your choice), potatoes, peppers, onions and cheese.    I've tried the tuna salad and its good too,  They use albacore( white) and thats always a plus in my book.  We've tried the potato skins, but I wasnt a fan.  Its nice that they are homemade, but the cheese wasnt melted all the way and it was kinda unappealing.  I love their ranch dressing, you can tell its homemade.  The turkey burger is great too.

I visited on a Saturday afternoon/evening.. At first glance, it looks red neck/hick..
for example.. in the parking lot b4 walking into this establishment (bar), I noticed a couple of fellas with a rifle aimed at the mountains with a binocular on it.. Now, I don't know about you but I come from the hood and I was STILL a little shocked(considering the sheriffs out here). It was interesting at the least.

It was dark once we got inside. I never saw the "karaoke" the other yelpers talked about (that would've been a blast)!!

Anyway, I was pleasantly surprised when we ordered and got great food! The waitress looked like a tweeker but who cares right? I ordered a chicken sandwich with the steak fries and they were grrreeeeaat!!! My honey ordered a steak with mashed potatoes and he really liked it.

Moral of the story.. don't knock it till you try it ;)

    Great food!

My husband and I tried it since they claimed they had the best burgers in town but they lied.  The burger was dry and it's just a bar with more cougars in one place than I've ever seen.  There were so many middle aged women there that I could not count.  I expected it to be a bar and grill with good food but it just appeared for all general purposes a dive bar that serves burgers which might be good after you've had a few but watch out the cougars will attach....

Odd place, but damn good. I couldn't find the entrance at first. When I did, all I saw was dive-bar. Behind the bar area is a small dining room. The food was good, plentiful, and affordable. They make their ranch dressing fresh, and you can tell, as it's like crack (habit forming).

Went for the first time.  Small hole-in-the-wall, clean and good service.  I had The Club, it was good.  Fries and onion rings were also good.  I will be back to try their burger "Best in SCV" they claim.

Bergie's is a little hidden gem! Honestly, passing by this place, I'd never go in because it looks pretty scuzzy. On the inside, though, it reminds me of one of those Swingers-esq dive bars. It has a lot of character. So, onto the food. I had a french dip with fries and a side salad - all of which were pretty darn great. The salad is a typical bagged lettuce salad with iceberg, carrots & cabbage but the Italian dressing was tangy & yummy. My hubby got a regular cheeseburger and fries & loved every bite. Recently, we went and picked up some breakfast burritos - under $5! - and it was probably one of the best that I've ever had. It has fluffy eggs, chunks of potatoes (not the gross fried hash browns) and sauteed peppers & onions. Freaking delicious, let me tell you. Will be back again & again! Oh - and also, if you're feeling it, they also have karaoke later in the evenings! A fun time for all!

Don't let the exterior fool you.  Dined here with a friend one night.  The place was packed, but I was immediately seated in the bar area (they have a separate dining section, but it doesn't matter to me) and my server came over right away.  He took my drink order and was really very attentive while I waited for my friend.   We were there for food which, at a bar, is hit or miss.  When our server brought out my pork chops (we didn't have to wait long for our food, though it was busy) everything was just fantastic.  They didn't even have to rely on over seasoning anything- it was just really well cooked.

The pricing is amazing for what they serve.  The portions are nice and I'm willing to pay for food that is well done. Even their beer prices were reasonable.  It was a really nice experience.

Bergie's is one of those places where you go to hang out and grab a beer and enjoy yourself.   I definitely intend to return.

For starters: the Yelp map is on crack.
This little hole in the wall is located just off the 14 fwy at Sand Canyon. It's off to the right, hidden behind the gas stations and next to the Denny's.

Driven by a million times, decided to try it for dinner on the way up to my football game.

Cute little neighborhood-y kinda place- booths, tables, bar, dartboard, nice TVs. Didn't see the separate dining room till I went to the (very clean) restroom.

I had a chicken sandwich, the kid had the deluxe burger. Both were really outstanding. Perfectly cooked, juicy and moist, respectively. Good buns and fresh produce.

We got the steak fries. Points because they are obviously made fresh on site and are not greasy. But they are pretty meaty, and more like wedge shaped homefries than french fries. Tasty, just wanted you to know what to expect.

Shared a side salad. Nice and cold, bacon bits and big croutons. But my pet peeve: stuffed into a teeny bowl so you can't move things around and mix it up without it falling out all over the table. I'll ask for a plate.

They do seem to use quality bar stock and not nasty, sugary cheap mixes. Feel free to have one or two with your meal and not worry about getting hooked up for DUI. They're pretty tame.

Very good service. Decent prices, not great. I'll be back over and over.

Bergies is by far the best place to go for an evening of fun in the ever so boring Santa Clarita. I went in on a Friday night expecting a quiet, empty bar and walked into a full room full of young, fun people singing karaoke and watching the Dodgers game. I was greeted at the door by the lovely owners and was served quickly upon taking a seat at the bar. All the smokers had to go outside, which was great, and the bartender made y drinks strong which I enjoyed.

The drinks were nicely priced, with great specials for the beers on tap, even the more premium beers such as Blue Moon. I didn't sing, but I did enjoy watching not only the patrons, but the bartenders hop on the mic as well and "whistle while they worked." Great place, great people, and you can bet I'll be back regularly.

Excellent place for lunch or dinner for any occasion.

Divided with a dining room in the back, bar up front with nice booths too.
Most popular booth is as you enter, turn immediately right for a cozy corner with privacy.
Friendly attentive staff, wonderful owners, average bar food at good prices.

Full bar with some games and darts and a fun locals crowd.
Premium booze and lots of beer brands avail.
    Good wines too.

Ya don't find many owner operated restaurants like this in So Cal anymore, and when you do it's usually lacking energy.
Bergies has that character and energy we all love.
    Nothing to gripe about here.

I have been here three times now and have had a blast each time. This is one of my friends favorite places to go, he is the "Norm" there. The bartenders are quick and attentive and they have a very nice selection of beers on tap. I always stick with Fat Tire, however my friend had the new Budweiser Ale and he was blown away. Let me add, he is a beer snob like me so that is really saying something.

The place is not huge, but it makes you cozy up to your friends. I really like the tall tables in the back. Plus, they have several flat screens t.v.s with different sports on all the time. After 9:00 pm on Saturday nights there is Karaoke and some good ol booty shaking.

The owners, Donna & Allan, are just wonderful, they are always there, making sure the customers are having a good time. Plus, they are just so friendly, they made me feel part of the Bergie's family right away.

They also serve food here ( it is a steakhouse too), however I have never had any. BUT, I do see them bringing out steaks to customers and they look amazing!!!!!

By far the best bar in this town full of hellholes.

Drinks are strong and you wont have to worry about your wife chewing your wang off because you spent the mortgage payment here. You can stop in anytime of the day and cool off with a refreshing beverage and a bite to eat. This is an excellent place to come on Friday and Saturday nights. The dinner crowd if more reserved from about 5 to 8pm. After that the regulars seem to flock to this place like its the bat signal or something. Around 10pm complete chaos ensues with croaked ass singers belting out oldies like they are Frank Sinatra. But in the end it is a great time.
