Berrets Seafood Restaurant & Taphouse Grill

From the food to the service, everything was terrific. We ducked in on a rainy Monday with two kids. The hostess was very sweet in making sure the boys felt at home. Our waiter, Eugene, was very knowledgeable, all his suggestions were perfect, and so nice. Everything we had, food and drinks, was really good - crab cakes, fish and chips, even the rolls. But the best, if I had to choose, was the she-crab soup and the pimm's cup. The soup is the best I've had. The pimm's cup was better than the ones I've had in a fairly famous restaurant in New Orleans known for this drink. Also the strawberry white chocolate cobbler was outstanding. We stayed for a long lunch trying to wait out the rain. When the boys were too restless to hang out any longer, the staff tried to help us get a cab and even offered to drive us to our car. A great experience!

More like 2.5 wt the Taphouse Grill.  Went here for a cousins dinner after a family wedding reception. Loved the patio, the atmosphere, and the company. It was one of those meals where I assume it was good until I really think about it later and admit it was OK-but not stellar. Just a tad too rich and breaded.  Fantastic hostess and good service though.

My wife, daughters, sister-in-law and I were on vacation in Williamsburg and looking for something other than a chain restaurant.  Berrets offered a good alternative.  Fresh local oysters to start, local monkfish for myself, Salmon for my wife and sister-in law.

Kids were even happy with desert.  Next time we are back in the area we will be repeat customers.
